“If they were knowingly responsible, there should be consequences”, Donald Trump warns China for Coronavirus outbreak

0

During a press conference at the White House on Saturday, US President Donald Trump threatened China with “consequences” if it is found that they were “knowingly responsible” for the outbreak of the Wuhan Coronavirus.

He added, “It could have been stopped in China before it started and it wasn’t. And now the whole world is suffering because of it. If it was a mistake, a mistake is a mistake. But if they were knowingly responsible, yeah, then there should be consequences.”

Trump emphasised on how the Chinese Government refused to co-operate with the US in dealing with the pandemic. He said that China was perhaps embarrassed about the fact that the virus originated in the country. The US President also talked about an invincible alliance between China and Joe Biden, one of the Democratic candidates contesting for the post of the President.

Talking about the impact of the Chinese virus on the economy, Donald Trump highlighted, “We had the greatest economy in the world by far. China isn’t even close. Go back two months. And we’re going to keep it that way.”

He also raised questions about the low Chinese figures on Coronavirus-related deaths in the country. Trump reiterated, “The number’s impossible,” he said. “It’s an impossible number to hit.” It is important to remember that China, following pressure from world leaders, had revealed that Wuhan saw a 50% spike in Coronavirus deaths from what was previously reported.

Coronavirus not a “Natural Virus”

A report published by Fox News made a shocking revelation that the Wuhan coronavirus that has swept the globe was not a natural virus but a man-made one that was accidentally leaked by an intern working at the lab at Wuhan Institute of Virology in China.

Mounting an attack against China for its possible complicity in the spread of the virus, US President Donald Trump took cognisance of the exclusive report published by the Fox News which alleged that though the virus is a naturally occurring strain among bats and not a bioweapon, it was being studied in the Wuhan lab and was eventually leaked by an intern.

Donald Trump seeks origin of Coronavirus

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) met on April 9 through video conference to discuss the Wuhan Coronavirus crisis but the meet ended without any concrete outcomes.

At the UNSC meeting, USA called for an analysis of the origins of Coronavirus, in an obvious dig at China, while the latter insisted that no country should be made a scapegoat and called for global solidarity in the wake of the pandemic. SG Anthony Gutierres’s call for a global ceasefire received no support and the only thing the UNSC agreed on was on press elements post the meet.

“The United States reiterates today the need for complete transparency and the timely sharing of public health data and information within the international community. The most effective way to contain this pandemic is through accurate, science-based data collection and analysis of the origins, characteristics, and spread of the virus,” Ambassador Kelly Craft said in her remarks on the disease.

“Over-enthusiastic Muslims will start crowding markets”: Grandnephew of Maulana Azad writes to PM requesting extension of lockdown till end of Ramzan

Firoz Bakht Ahmed, the Grandnephew of former Congress leader Maulana Azad and the chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) Chancellor has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging him to extend the lockdown for the entire Ramzan month till May 24.

Firoz Bakht Ahmed also apologised for the acts of violence allegedly by Muslims against healthcare workers across the country.

In a letter, titled ‘extremely pressing! SOS!’ addressed to the Prime Minister on Thursday, the MANUU Chancellor Ahmed said that care should be taken that the lockdown should not be lifted till May 24, the day when Ramzan month ends.

Letter by Firoz Bakht Ahmed, MANUU Chancellor

Overenthusiastic Muslims will crowd the streets, hold iftar and prayer gatherings

Ahmed stated that overenthusiastic Muslims, like the uncontrollable Tablighi Jamaat followers will flood the markets from May 3rd after the lockdown is lifted. He added that Muslims will hold Iftar parties and prayer gatherings in the first week of May by disobeying the Prime Ministerial instructions, a time when coronavirus could peak in the country, which may give rise to corona clusters.

“Care should be taken that the lockdown should not be lifted till May 24, the day when Ramzan month ends. If it is lifted on May 3, a time when Corona will be ripening to its peak in India, overenthusiastic Muslims (as seen in the case of uncontrollable Tablighi Jamaat followers) will start crowding markets, holding iftar parties and prayer gathering, giving rise to Corona clusters by disobeying the Prime Ministerial instruction,” Ahmed wrote in the letter.

According to Ahmed, the actions of Muslims, if lockdown is lifted on May 3rd, it will nullify all government’s never say die, hard work. “It is my very humble submission in community, national and humanity interest,” said Bakht Ahmed in his letter to PM Modi.

Apology on behalf of the Muslims for the violence against healthcare workers

Ahmed has also profusely apologised for the acts of some Muslims who indulged in attacks on doctors, policemen, healthcare workers at various places. “As a law-abiding Indian Muslim, I apologise of behalf of all those belonging to my community in quarantine in India, indulging in violence against doctors, nurses, health workers, police, safai karamcharis etc,” the grandnephew of erstwhile Muslim leader wrote.

“My head is hung in shame whenever I see highly condemned acts of spitting, misbehaving in vulgar manner with the hospital staff (especially nurses), running for the jugular of doctors, throwing urine bottles and not extending cooperation for treatment for coronavirus,” Ahmed added.

Firoz Bakht Ahmed

While the media pandered to Tablighi Jamaat, grandnephew of Bharat Ratna Maulana Abul Kalam Azad recently said that he feels ashamed to be a Muslim due to their activities. He also said that he was appalled that these Jamaatis and many more people are violating the golden mantra given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi – “Janata Curfew”, “Lakshman Rekha” and “Jaan hain to Jahaan hain” (If there is life, everything can be done). He also said that that in fact, the true “Tabligh” should have been to get these three instructions be announced five times each day from the mosques. Earlier, too, he had appealed to Muslims to not fall prey to politicians who wanted to break India with anti-CA propaganda.

Kerala: Congress asks Pinayari Vijayan to resign amidst allegations of Sprinklr data scam

On Saturday, the Congress urged the national leadership of the CPI-M to ask Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to resign and order a CBI probe to look into the transfer of data on coronavirus suspects to a US-based PR and marketing firm Sprinklr.

According to the reports, senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala, who is also the leader of the opposition had first raised the irregularities in storing the data related to coronavirus patients.

Later, former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy accused Pinarayai Vijayan government of indulging in a data scam by pointing out that this data transfer had no clearance from any state government department, the Kerala cabinet or the Centre.

While addressing the media on Saturday, state Congress president Mullapally Ramachandran asked Vijayan to quit and the CPI-M politburo to come clean.

“We are all waiting to hear what they (CPI-M) have to say on this blatant data scam. Only a CBI probe would bring out the truth, as this is a monstrous data scam and a bigger one that SNC Lavalin, the case where Vijayan is linked to and is now before the apex court,” said Ramachandran.

He further said that everyone wanted to know as to who brought the Sprinklr company to India and if it had any connections in Bengaluru.

Sprinklr company and the Kerala data scam

Senior Congress legislator PT Thomas also expressed concerns whether the sudden disappearance of the website of Vijayan’s daughter’s IT firm based in Bengaluru was connected to the Sprinklr data scam.

Meanwhile, a petition has been filed before the Kerala High Court over the decision to hand over the data to Sprinklr.

The petition filed by lawyer Balu Gopalakrishnan accuses Pinarayi Vijayan-government of indulging in a scam by engaging with a foreign-based private company for storing and analyzing coronavirus patients data. The petitioner also questioned the decision to entrust the job with a foreign company, ignoring Indian firms like the C-DIT and NIC.

Free access to data of coronavirus patients

The crux of the problem is the state government’s use of Sprinklr software free of charge until September. The petitioner states that data of citizens were collected without their informed consent. According to the petitioner, more than 1.5 lakh sensitive medical information of the coronavirus patients are with the company.

The Congress also charged against the state government’s collaboration with Sprinklr, whose founder, Ragy Thomas, is suspiciously from Mavelikkara in Alappuzha district.

Contract awarded in violation of rules

Amid the controversy, Kerala IT secretary claimed that he had selected Sprinklr for COVID-19 survey using his discrepancy powers, but now it has come to light that the official has no right to select a company. “The government has decided to have a technological platform to collect details. Hence, while taking the contract of Sprinklr it was assured that the service is free of cost and there are no security issues. The selection of the platform and signing the contract files related to it were my responsibilities,” said the IT secretary.

But as per rules of business, no official is entitled with any discretionary power to grant a contract to any company. Moreover, it is also revealed that rules of business, which prescribes the duties of the Law Department, were violated to select the company.

Pakistani human rights activist Arif Ajakia slams Rana Ayyub, Saba Naqvi and Arfa Khanum for shielding Tablighi Jamaat

It has been proved beyond doubts that the Tablighi Jamaat members have been the sole reason behind the spike in the coronavirus cases in India. Apart from this, their anti-social behaviour has left the authorities and medical teams, working day and night to fight the pandemic, completely distraught. Moreover, ever since the reports that Tablighi Jamaat is the primary sources of transmission of coronavirus in the country emerged, the Muslim mobs have continued to attack paramedic staffs and police personnel unabashedly.

Still, there is this so-called secular-liberal’ gang who have been audaciously defending these Jamaatis and rebuking all those who are pointing out the Tablighi Jamaat attendees’ crime, by calling them ‘Islamophobic’.

Pakistani Human rights activist Arif Ajakia released a video on his Youtube channel on April 16, to expose Rana Ayyub, Saba Naqvi and Arfa Khanum, who can be safely called the founding members of the propaganda wing of the Muslim fundamentalist faction.

He begins with a point by point rebuttal to Saba Naqvi’s claims that Muslims are being targeted in India. Speaking about the video the propagandist had shared recently accusing the entire Hindu community of spreading hatred against the Muslim community while remaining silent on the reprehensible conduct of significant sections of the Muslim community, Arif Ajakia says that if it had not been for India, the Tablighi Jamaats would have had to face a bigger backlash.

The legal framework and secularism in India is impeding government to directly take their names also, they are in fact, being called the single source. Though the fact is that what these Jamaatis have done is “stupidity”, they have risked the lives of 1.30 crore people of the country.

As a responsible journalist, you cannot overlook such things happening in front of you. The misbehaviour, attacks on medical staffs have been actually happening and it is being carried out by the Jamaatis and Muslims, this is a fact, and it cannot be ignored, says the Pakistani activist.

Despite the fact that the people of this particular community has been behind all the transgression, your country is not permitting to take their names directly, and I being a Pakistani, am openly saying that the nuisance created by the Tablighi’s must be stopped. The activist here expresses shock that despite facts being out in the open, journalists like Saba Naqvi calls it “Islamophobia”.

Unfortunately, Saba Naqvi, Rana Ayub, Arfa Kannum’s journalism is confined to a particular community, it’s based on the defence of a community. This is sheer stupidity, exclaims Arif Ajakia.

Though google is full of news which says that these “Mullah’s are organising group feasts, reading group Namaaz”, yet they are being defended. “What should be done, should their topis and beard be photoshopped…what is one to do?”, asks the activists. And when these things are reported journalists like you all start peddling the “Islamophobia” narrative.

Saba Naqvi insinuates Hindu’s spreading hatred against Muslims:

On April 16, Saba Naqvi had released a video through which she once again shielded Muslims and demonised Hindu’s.

In her video message, Saba Naqvi cites the examples of a few good Muslims while accusing the Hindu community of indulging in hatred. While Saba Naqvi takes care to use the example of a few good Muslims to whitewash the crimes of a great many more in her viral video, she does not offer the Hindu community the same courtesy. Playing the victim card, Saba Naqvi paints the entire Hindu community as intolerant.

Saba Naqvi makes preposterous insinuations in her video and asks Hindus repeatedly, “What do you want us to do?”, the ‘Us’ being Muslims. Again, Saba Naqvi ought to be careful about not painting the entire Hindu Community in poor light because if the favour is returned, she will be the first to cry victim. Since she answers her own question by saying “Should we all leave?”, we decided it would be a good idea to reverse the gaze for a moment. There are certain things that the Hindu Community would want from the Muslim community. And these are not some unrealistic demands that the deviant sections of the Muslim community would have to try too hard to fulfill.

Senior Editor at The Wire, Arfa Khanum Sherwani give a clean chit to Tablighi Jamaat:

Senior Editor at The Wire, Arfa Khanum Sherwani, has declared the perverts of Tablighi Jamaat innocent and accused the female staff of the MMG Hospital at Ghaziabad, who were victims of the perverts’ sexually predatory behaviour, of indulging in propaganda. The female staff of the hospital had said that the members of the Islamic missionary organization were roaming around their wards naked and were directing lewd gestures at them. However, journalist Arfa Khanum Sherwani has proclaimed that they are lying. Arfa Khanum Sherwani said that she refused to believe they will harass or molest women.

Rana Ayyub shares misleading images to demonize frontline warriors:

As India fights Wuhan coronavirus, propagandists masquerading as ‘journalists’ and ‘historians’ seem to have taken upon themselves to spread misinformation. ‘Journalist’ Rana Ayyub took to Twitter to share an old and misleading picture of curfew defaulters being punished as that of migrant labourers to demonize the police personnel who have been sweating it out, risking their own lives to save citizens from the pandemic.

Selective journalism by left-liberal media in India:

A section of ‘selective journalism’ (religion, caste, journalism based on convenience) and ‘selective critiqueism’ (choosing issues for criticism by convenience) have been in the media of the country for a long time. These are the same people, for whom if any Muslim is involved in crime, their narrative would be simple- ‘there is no religion of crime and criminals’ and when the same crime is committed by a Hindu, these people start hopping on one leg, weaving a narrative around ‘Hindu terror’ or ‘Bhagwa terror’.

This is the reason why the left media in India has seen the greatest fall in the eyes of the common masses. People have been able to see through the nefarious designs of these ‘celebrated’ journalists, where they openly endorse a favourite opposition party and unduly target the majority community, in the garb of “secularism”.

Pakistan and Bangladesh are using the pandemic to starve their Hindu minorities

In what looks like a small village in Bengal, a group of ‘humanists’ have gathered to distribute food rations to the poor.  A man begins reading names from a list. One by one, the poor people of the village come up and collect their humble sack of grain. Hard times also bring out the best in the human spirit.

All of a sudden, the man with the list stops. He has noticed that certain persons have also joined the back of the line to receive food. He raises his voice and tells them to go away.

You are Hindus,” he says, “Go away. This is not for you. Don’t put your names on the list.

See here (after 3:35).

Terrorism has no religion. But for some people, hunger certainly can. Anyway, I digress.

For now, you might be relieved to learn that this is happening in some village in East Bengal, now called Bangladesh. No such reports from West Bengal. At least not yet.

Borders are a funny thing, especially when drawn arbitrarily across a nation as ancient as Bharat, tearing it into pieces. We can pretend that this video does not matter simply because it is from Bangladesh and not from any part of the Republic of India. We can close our eyes. Or we could see it as a warning about the grim future of those who will not learn from history. The obsessively India hating Arund**ti Roy is right about one thing. The pandemic is a portal. But not in the way she wants us to believe. Through this time portal, we can see what lies on the other side of this tunnel called “Ganga Jamuni Tehzeeb.”

In the last two months, the world has been in the throes of the Wuhan Coronavirus pandemic. And a great crime against humanity has gone unnoticed. Pakistan and Bangladesh have been using this pandemic to starve their Hindu minority.

Untitled
Discrimination against Hindus in Pakistan amidst coronavirus outbreak

Do not believe even for a moment that the world is merely distracted, too busy looking at other things to care about a handful of people in a poor country. If media has time and space for silly articles suggesting that saying “Bharat” instead of “India” could be a conspiracy against the world, they surely have time to cover what’s happening to Hindus in Pakistan or Bangladesh. The poison drip of Hinduphobia in the Western media has been up and running as if nothing has happened. A random hospital in India becomes the target of a fake story accusing India’s Hindu majority of ‘intolerance’. The story is flashed around the world in a matter of hours.

And it’s not like the world cared about Hindus in Pakistan or Bangladesh when things were ‘normal’.

The world is looking away from the plight of Hindus and deliberately so.

The interesting question is why Hindus of India also seem to be looking away, at best only vaguely aware of what is happening just across the border.

This is where ‘narrative’ becomes so important. See, Indian liberals know perfectly well that nobody can threaten the citizenship any Indian, whether CAA or anything else. Indian liberals know perfectly well that India is not ‘lynchistan.’ And that the recent riots in Delhi were obviously not a genocide.

Why then does the Indian liberal keep telling these lies? One part of it is a simple profit motive. There is a real desire out there to believe the worst about India. This is in countries which are insecure about India rising to the top 5 of world economies and demanding a place at the power table. And where there is a demand, there is always someone willing to sell. Even if it means selling out their own country. The world is a nasty place.

But the real motive goes beyond that. These lies serve a specific purpose. They keep Hindus on the defensive. Unable to see what’s really happening to them. Unable to see how Hindus are being sent on a one way journey out of history. And definitely unable to hear the screams of Hindus across the border in Pakistan and Bangladesh. They are not spirits of the dead calling out to us from the other side. They are living breathing human beings. We have just learned to behave as if they are already dead.

Remember, every moment that we spend defending against liberal attacks on Hanuman stickers, or sarees, or rasam, is a moment we don’t see the big picture of what is happening to us.

Liberals know perfectly well that sarees have nothing to do with so called Hindu nationalism. They are just baiting us, making us thrash around, tiring us out. When we focus our minds on small things, we miss the big picture. That’s their real strategy.

If one billion Hindus in India spoke up in one voice about what is happening to Hindus in Pakistan, would the world still be able to ignore it? Of course not. That is why they pull our leg, keeping us busy debunking absurd allegations of fascism and intolerance.

On CAA, for instance, they make us repeat over and over again, the same easy justification in favor of the law. They are not actually listening. They are buying time. With each passing day, Hindus in Pakistan and Bangladesh come one step closer to extinction. And we are one day late in realizing what could be coming to us.

Ram Mandir ‘Bhoomi Puja’ in Ayodhya to be postponed amidst coronavirus lockdown: Reports

The ‘Bhoomi Puja’ ceremony for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, which was tentatively scheduled for April 30, has been deferred in view of the lockdown over coronavirus. According to Indian Express report, sources close to Shree Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust said the ‘Bhoomi Puja’ will be postponed for now and the new date for the auspicious occasion will be decided only once lockdown ends

A meeting held among trust members had decided to go ahead with April 30 as the likely date, but nothing was finalised. With the lockdown on, the puja has been deferred for now. Meanwhile, Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust had donated Rs 11 lakh to PM-CARES fund to fight the coronavirus epidemic.

Trustees had met PM Modi

Earlier, the trustees of the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and invited him to the foundation stone laying ceremony of the proposed Ram Temple in Ayodhya, which was supposed to happen in April.

It was reported that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was likely to visit the holy city of Ayodhya to attend the foundation laying (Bhoomi Puja) ceremony of the proposed Ram temple. However, with coronavirus pandemic, uncertainty looms over the proposed ‘Bhoomi Puja’.

Lord Ram idol shifted to temporary site

On the first day of Chaitra Navratri, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had shifted the Ram Lalla idol to a temporary structure near Manas Bhawan in Ram Janmabhoomi premises.

Ram Lalla idol will be kept there till the construction of the Ram Mandir is completed. The Chief Minister had also presented a cheque of Rs 11 lakhs for the construction of the temple.

Historic Ram Janmabhoomi judgement

In November 2019, in a historic verdict, the Supreme Court handed over the Ram Janmabhoomi site to the Hindus, paving way for the Ram Mandir. The Sunni Waqf Board will be given an alternate 5-acre land on which they could build a mosque should they wish. Earlier this year, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra trust was formed and the Union Government made a symbolic donation of Re 1 to the trust.

Medicines being bought secretly, treatment being done at home: The mystery behind Indore’s steep rise of dead bodies in Muslim graveyards deepens

As per a report published by Bhaskar, in coronavirus affected areas like Macchi Bazar, Bombay Bazaar in Indore, there has been a sudden spike in people purchasing oxygen generators, masks, PPE kits and hydroxychloroquine medicine, which is being administered to treat the contagion that originated in China. The report further states that not only is the treatment being carried out in secret but there are also mysterious deaths.

According to the report, a car comes for picking up the medicines and medical equipments. The car has a designated pass and permit for distribution of food. The payment for these medicines and equipment which could be used for coronavirus in Indore is reportedly being carried out by a courier company based out of Mumbai. As per Bhaskar, this was revealed by a sting operation they had carried out. Notably, it is the same area in which 127 burials were carried out Muslim graveyards in first six days of April. The number of dead bodies buried in these graveyards rose to 227 up to 12 April 2020.

As per Bhaskar, the audio recording they have recorded the conversation between the supplier and one purchaser identified as ‘Wajid’. The translation of the conversation of the reported sting is as follows:

Supplier: Should I come?
Wajid: No, not today. They’re very strict today.
Supplier: But there is pass for the car, right?
Wajid: Yes, but the car has gone to Mayur Vihar with the patient.

Another alleged conversation between the ‘supplier’ and ‘Wajid’ was about decreased oxygen supply in the cylinder because of which one patient died.

Supplier: Did you call?
Wajid: The two Philips machines you sent earlier, why is the oxygen supply low?
Supplier: Tighten the lid of the bottle, attach connector, it will work out.
Wajid: There is no pressure in the Philips machine, the patient expired in the night. We had to use the four machines you had earlier given during the day.

‘Wajid’ further reportedly claims that the Philips machine supplied also did not have a mask.

Bhaskar report further claims that the payment for these was carried out from Mumbai. Rs 93,000 were paid once and Rs 1.28 lakh were paid later. One Index Logistics Private Limited, a company based out of Mumbai, allegedly paid for these ‘secretive’ medicines and medical equipments. According to Ministry of Corporate Affairs records, the courier company is owned by one Ismail Muhammad Khan.

As per the Bhaskar report, the crime branch is currently carrying out investigation in the case.

Ahmedabad: 23-year-old Smruti Thakkar donates plasma after recovering from coronavirus for plasma therapy trial

A 23-year-old Smruti Thakkar, who recovered from coronavirus earlier this month, has decided to donate her blood plasma to the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (SVP) Hospital in Ahmedabad so that could be used in the treatment of other patients.

ICMR approves permission

Earlier Principal Secretary of the Health Department, Jayanti Ravi, said, “We have learned that the ICMR has given approval to the Kerala government for such plasma transfusion treatment. From Gujarat, Ahmedabad civil hospital and SVP Hospital have sought ICMR’s permission to start this treatment for coronavirus patients,”

Health officials in the State informed that plasma transfusion can be used to boost the immunity of the critical Coronavirus patients by generating antibodies in the bodies. On Saturday, the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) gave its nod to the two hospitals to run plasma therapy trials.

Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner Vijay Nehra thanked Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani for the intervention that helped SVP hospital get the required approval from the ICMR. He also informed that the donor had been identified and that the plasma donation process had been completed after the consent of the donor was obtained.

Reportedly, 6 such donors had been identified and 3 of them had completed the mandatory 14-day period, following recovery from the Wuhan Coronavirus. According to Jayanti Ravi, one blood plasma donation can be used in the treatment of 4 Coronavirus infected patients. This technique is a viable option for the treatment of critical patients in the absence of drugs and vaccines.

Thakkar had returned from Paris on 19th March and showed no symptoms for the virus but as precautionary measures she was home quarantined. A few days later she began showing symptoms for coronavirus. Upon being tested, she was found coronavirus positive. After being in hospital for 15 days, she has now fully recovered.

Gujarat fights coronavirus

City administration in Ahmedabad and Surat in Gujarat, in their daily coronavirus bulletin, have been giving out information of individuals who have been diagnosed with COVID-19. The Surat Municipal corporation has also been pinning residential details on maps so that people in the localities where there are coronavirus positive cases could be alert.

Similarly, Amdavad Municipal Corporation, too, has been giving out details of individuals who have been tested positive. While the corporation does not have an official map, Ahmedabad-based techies volunteered and have been pinning locations on Google based on the inputs provided by the corporation.

Cricketers and TikTok amidst coronavirus outbreak

The coronavirus pandemic which has continued to affect people’s lives across the world has also left the celebrities with no option but to spend their time on social media. TikTok has come to the rescue of the few. Even Indian cricketers have been spending their lockdown time in various social media platforms. Yuzvendra Chahal has been making some videos on TikTok. Earlier this week, Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan had also posted a video of him dancing with his son on a popular Bollywood song “Daddy Cool”.

31 members of one family in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri flout lockdown guidelines, test positive for coronavirus

31 members one single family in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri have tested positive after coming in contact with a woman who died of coronavirus earlier this month. Despite lockdown guidelines, the family members kept meeting each other and visiting the home of the woman who had tested positive and eventually died. None of them had symptoms of coronavirus. The area has now been sealed as a hotspot.

According to District Magistrate Deepak Shinde, all 31 of them are members of the family of an old woman who died after being infected by coronavirus or had visited her. This also includes children in the family. After the death of the woman, the C-Block of Jahangirpuri was sealed on April 10 and the samples were collected even though they did not show symptoms. While 26 tested positive on Friday, the remaining five tested positive on Saturday. The authorities are not establishing contact tracing for all 31 members. While they all lived in different houses in the same block, they continued to mingle despite the area being declared as a hotspot and sealed.

All the members are now sent to quarantine facility at Narela.

Coronavirus cases in Jahangirpuri, Delhi

Earlier in March, an anti-CAA protestor in Jahangirpuri had tested positive for coronavirus after he met his Saudi returned sister who tested positive. The woman had infected her brother as well as the mohalla clinic doctor she visited and his family members. A few days back, 4 people had tested positive in Jahangirpuri’s B block, following which the entire area was sealed. The four have now recovered. Health authorities believe the next two weeks will be quite a challenge for Jahangirpuri.

As per official Delhi government figures, total coronavirus positive cases in Delhi stand at 1,893, of which 207 have recovered and 43 have lost their lives.
