Salman Khan starrer ‘Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai’ cuts scenes that showed young boys doing drugs, overdosing

Salman Khan starrer ‘Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai’ is all set to release on digital platforms soon. According to reports, the CBFC gave the certification to the movie without any cuts, however, the makers themselves have chopped certain scenes from the movie, since they wanted to ensure it was fit for family viewing.

According to report in Bollywood Hungama, 21 modifications have been made to the movie after getting the CBFC certification.

Most notably, attributing this information to sources, Bollywood Hangama reported that a scene where a young boy was seen doing drugs was cut from the movie, though the CBFC had given it a go-ahead. Bollywood Hungama quotes a source saying, “Lead actor Salman Khan and the makers felt that the film is a family entertainer. Although it’s coming on digital as well, many are going to watch it with their families in their homes. So they probably must have thought that it’s better to remove a few shots which might make the target audience uncomfortable”.

It further reported that other than the shot of a young boy taking drugs, another scene where a boy was scene overdosing on drugs were cut out. Aside from that, 4 other scenes that showed a lot of violence was also cut.

Other than scenes of violence and young boys consuming drugs, a slogan from the movie was also changed. In one scene, ‘Swachch Maharashtra’ was reportedly changed to ‘Swachch Bharat’.

Before these modifications, the duration of Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai was 117 minutes and 55 seconds. After these cuts were implemented, the final run time now stands at 114 minutes and 24 seconds. In other words, 3 minutes 31 seconds of shots have been removed by the makers.

Parody Tinder accounts of ‘newly single’ Bill Gates emerge after his divorce announcement, promise exclusive ‘third dose’ of vaccine

Bill Gates, the Microsoft co-founder, and his wife Melinda Gates announced on Tuesday that they are getting divorced. In identical tweets, the couple had said that they had made the decision to end their marriage of 27 years.

Soon after the announcement, parody profiles started popping up on Tinder pretending to be the tech mogul, reported The Sun.

Tinder is an online dating app that matches users to others based on geographic proximity. It works through a simple interface that allows users to swipe right to ‘like’ or left to ‘pass’ based on their photos, a small bio, and common interests. If two users both like each other, it’s a ‘match’ and they are then able to chat through the app.

One fake profile lists Bill Gate’s job as a “multi-billionaire,” and has a bio that parodies the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s vaccine initiative, reading: “I can give you an exclusive third dose.”

Another spoof account’s bio read: “I’m still rich. I didn’t read your bio becoz I know what they all says, ‘I love dogs, pizza, not looking for hookups bla bla bla’ boring…I’ve seen trees with more personality.”

It states the billionaire’s likes as “Office365, Vaccines, boring girls without personalities (I hear they live here)” and dislikes as: “iMacs, Anti-vaxxers, Google docs”.

No sooner did these spoof profiles appear on the online dating app, Netizens unleashed a flood of memes to make light of the delicate situation where the couple has decided to part ways after being together for 27 years.

One social media user wrote that the online dating app would keep crashing every five minutes as everyone would be swiping right every time they see Bill Gates’ profile.

Some others jokingly contemplated changing their location or updating their profile to match it with the ‘newly single’ billionaire.

While some jested that “Microsoft acquired tinder as Bill Gates is single these days”.

The couple Tweeted: “Over the last 27 years, we have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works all over the world to enable all people to lead healthy, productive lives”.

“We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives.”

“We ask for space and privacy for our family as we begin to navigate this new life,” the couple added.

West Bengal: Mukul Roy dispels rumours, says he will continue to be a ‘soldier’ of BJP

Bengal BJP leader Mukul Roy has dispelled rumours that he is moving back to the Trinamool Congress following the party’s defeat in the assembly elections. Mukul Roy said that he will “continue as a soldier of BJP to restore democracy in our state.”

There were rumours doing the rounds that Mukul Roy, who had earlier dumped TMC to join the BJP, will move back to Mamata Banerjee’s party after the defeat. However, he says that the “concoctions and conjectures” should be put to rest.

Cryptic tweets had been making the rounds suggesting that “turncoats” may be on their way back to the Trinamool Congress.

The BJP suffered a severe defeat in the West Bengal Assembly Elections with Mamata Banerjee winning 213 seats in the 294 seat assembly. Post-poll violence has erupted in the state ever since trends showed a TMC victory.

Mayawati slams Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for migrant crisis, says state govts engaging in drama to cover up incompetence

BSP supremo Mayawati has slammed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the migrant crisis at the national capital. She said that only folding hands before the public and pleading with them not to leave is a drama that has been seen earlier as well.

Mayawati said that the same drama is being seen in Maharashtra, Haryana and Punjab as well. She said that the events were extremely disheartening.

The BSP supremo said that if the governments of these states had inspired faith in them and worked to meet their necessities, then they would not have been forced to flee. She also said that the state governments were now engaging in drama to cover up their incompetence.

Mayawati also demanded free vaccines for the poor, Dalits and the Tribal communities. She also requested financial help for them.

Delhi had witnessed a massive migrant crisis with the onset of lockdown in the state the previous month. Following the announcement of lockdown, a huge gathering of migrant workers were spotted at the Anand Vihar Bus Terminal. Such a crisis was witnessed in 2020 as well.

Women threatened with rape, want to flee violence in West Bengal because of police inaction: NCW

On Friday (May 7), the National Commission for Women (NCW) chief Rekha Sharma informed that several women in West Bengal have been facing rape threats and are wanting their daughters to abandon the State. The revelation comes days after an NCW team reached West Bengal to take cognisance of the Trinamool Congress-sponsored violence in the State.

As per reports, Rekha Sharma said that the rape threats to women and their willingness to leave the State altogether came at the backdrop of the police inaction and their failure in ensuring the protection of women. In a statement, she added that the women are fearful of a possible backlash if they file a complaint with the police.

While speaking about the matter, NCW said, “The team received information about many stranded victims, who left their homes because of violence, are currently forced to stay in a shelter home. The team was informed by the victims that they were physically assaulted and their homes were vandalised and set ablaze by TMC goons.”

NCW complaints about rape threats to women and police inaction

It further added, “The complainants told the team that they have been receiving rape and threat calls every day. The women also said that they are not being provided with any protection by the police or state authorities. The women said that they have left the elderly in their homes and are worried about their safety.” Moreover, the shelter homes, where people were forced to take refuge, had no medical facilities, clean drinking water, or healthy food.

“There is no effective rehabilitation scheme for women in distress and women are unaware of the welfare schemes launched for them by the central government. There is a need for conducting awareness programmes about schemes of central government at the district level,” NCW noted. It had also met West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar and sought detailed information of the registered FIRs from police officials and the district magistrates. NCW has also asked the cops to appear before them and submit their reports.

NCW demands police reforms, the inclusion of more women officers in services

The National Commission for Women pointed out that the police and the State authorities must be held accountable. It emphasised the need to increase women police officers, sensitisation, and training the police personnel. NCW stated that the State government officials prevented it from meeting the victims of violence, citing movement restrictions during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Mamata govt denies extension of stay to NCW chief

On Thursday (May 6), National Commission for Women chief Rekha Sharma announced that she had been refused a one-day extension of her West Bengal visit, which sought to help women affected by the post-election violence in the state. The official reason for this refusal was the recently introduced partial lockdown measures in the state.

The NCW chief had been on an official visit to Kolkata since May 5 in order to hear the grievances of women going through post-election violence. In order to better access the situation, the NCW chief had extended her visit for another day, however, this extension was quickly refused by the West Bengal TMC government.

“Yesterday I extended my visit to Kolkata for a day but State Gov. didn’t want me to, so they sent this message to me as if I was here for a pleasure trip,” wrote Rekha Sharma. “In this 2 days trip met many women, saw so much pain in their eyes, and recorded horrible stories,” the NCW chief added, giving a plausible explanation as to why she would extend her official visit.

Swati Chaturvedi accused of plagiarizing article on Himanta Biswa Sarma by Hindustan Times editor

Swati Chaturvedi has been accused of plagiarizing an article by Zia Haq, Associate Editor at Hindustan Times. The article in question was on Himanta Biswa Sarma, the star of North East credited with the BJP’s meteoric rise not only in Assam but the entire region.

The May 3rd article by Zia Haq said of Sarma, “HBS successfully plotted a BJP coup in Arunachal Pradesh, upstaging the Congress. He toppled the Congress, the single largest party in Manipur, stitching up a BJP-led alliance in 2017. He cut political deals leading to a non-Congress government in Meghalaya too. In Nagaland, HBS was instrumental in making rival fronts, the Naga People’s Front and the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party, tie up with the BJP.”

Swati Chaturvedi’s article on 7th of May said, “He plotted a coup in Arunachal Pradesh, upstaging the Congress. He toppled the Congress, the single-largest party in Manipur, stitching up a BJP alliance in 2017. His deal-making ensured a BJP government in Meghalaya as well. In Nagaland, Sarma, universally known as “HBS”, was the key figure in the alliance between the Naga People’s Front, the National Democratic Progressive Party and the BJP.”

While Zia Haq does not say it explicitly, the implications of the screenshots are pretty clear. It was interpreted as such by people on social media who considered it a clear case of plagiarism.

BJP functionary Dr Vijay Chauthaiwale also chimed in.

Swati Chaturvedi has been accused of plagiarism in the past as well. She was accused of plagiarizing tweets by journalist Stanley Pignal of the The Economist.

Donald Trump welcomes Federal Election Commission decision to drop case against him over his payment to pornstar Stormy Daniels

On Thursday (May 6), the Federal Election Commission (FEC) closed a case against former US President Donald Trump for alleged violation of campaign finance law during the 2016 Presidential election. EFC is responsible for enforcing the campaign finance law in the United States.

As per reports, the case pertains to an alleged payment of $1,30,000 made during his 2016 campaign trail to former pornstar Stormy Daniels through his lawyer Michael Cohen. The payment was allegedly made to stop Daniels from speaking out about their supposed affair a decade ago. The inquiry against Donald Trump was dropped after an evenly split EFC, between Democrats and Republicans, voted 2-2.

The voting took place months after an internal report suggested that Trump ‘knowingly’ violated the campaign law. The Republicans in the Federal Election Commission noted, “To conclude that a payment, made 13 days before Election Day to hush up a suddenly newsworthy 10-year-old story, was not campaign-related, without so much as conducting an investigation, defies reality.” The decision was criticised by their Democrat counterparts.

Donald Trump thanks EFC for ending the ‘fake news’ chapter

In a statement, Donald Trump said, “The Federal Election Commission in Washington, D.C., has totally dropped the phony case against me concerning payments to women relative to the 2016 Presidential Election.” He added, “It was a case built on lies from Michael Cohen, a corrupt and convicted lawyer, a lawyer in fact who was so corrupt he was sentenced to three years in jail for lying to Congress and many other things having nothing to do with me.”

Donald Trump also thanked the EFC for ‘ending this chapter of Fake News’. “Between two sleazebag lawyers, Michael Avenatti (former lawyer of Stormy Daniels) and Michael Cohen, we were all able to witness law and justice in our Country at its lowest!” he concluded.

Trump’s former lawyer cries foul after EFC drops inquiry

A disgruntled Michael Cohen, however, faced a major setback after the EFC closed the inquiry against Donald Trump. He said, “Mr. Trump has acknowledged reimbursing the payment but denied the affair and any wrongdoing regarding campaign laws…Like me, Trump should have been found guilty. How the FEC committee could rule any other way is confounding.”

It must be mentioned that Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen was handed a 3-year-prison time for pleading guilty to lying to Congress and violating finance laws. At the same time, Aavenatti will also be sentenced on June 30 for stealing from clients and trying to extort money from Nike.

Controversy over Stormy Daniel and Donald Trump

Former pornstar Stephanie Clifford, known in the industry as Stormy Daniels, had claimed in 2016 that she had an affair with Donald trump in 2006, during which the duo shared a sexual relationship. The allegations sparked controversy ahead of the 2016 US Presidential elections. During her 60 minutes interview with CBS News on March 25, 2018, she claimed to have met Trump at a celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe in 2006. She revealed how they had engaged in consensual sex that night.

Trump had later conceded of making a payment of $1,30,000 to Daniels but refuted reports of wrongdoing. In 2018, the former US President had rubbished reports of the affair and termed it ‘false and extortionist.’ On being asked whether it was hush money during the interview, she alleged, “Yes. The story was coming out again. I was concerned for my family and their safety.”

Amidst shortage, over 600 Remdesivir, 849 unlabelled vials found in Bhakra canal in Punjab, probe on: Read details

Amidst the 2nd wave of Coronavirus outbreak in India, an acute shortage of the life-saving Remdesivir injection has been reported from various parts of the country. The acute shortage of this crucial drug has deliberated miscreants to black-market the injection and also produce and circulate counterfeit Remdesivir jabs and sell them at exorbitant prices.

On Thursday, the Ropar police in Punjab recovered over 600 vials of Remdavisir injections from the Bhakra Canal near Salempur village in Ropar, Punjab. The vials were found floating in the canal water. The police confirmed that besides Remdesivir, hundreds of Cefoperazone injection vials were also found floating in the canal.

Drug Inspector Tejinder Singh of the Health Department said: “Police have recovered around 671 vials of Remdasivir injections, more than 1456 Cefoperazone injection vials and around 849 unlabelled vials, whose print was washed away in the water.

Police probing whether the Remdesivir injections recovered are fake or genuine

Singh added that preliminary investigations reveal that these vials are apparently fake. The labels on vials did not match with those of the original vials of the same company. Police are now probing whether the medicines are counterfeit or authentic. A case has been registered against unidentified people.

Police informed that the Remdesivir vials were packed in cartons and bore the manufacturer’s address of Telangana with Rs 5,400 per vial as MRP. According to information provided on the vials, it was manufactured in March 2021 and bore an expiry date of November 2021.

Meanwhile, the wrappers of Cefoperazone vials with “For government supply, not for sale” marking bore the manufacturer’s address of Kala Amb in Himachal Pradesh. The manufacturing date of the Cefoperazone injection was mentioned as April 2021 and the expiry date was March 2023.

Police teams still searching for more vials in the canal

Ropar SSP Akhil Chaudhary confirmed that the police received information that some injection vials were seen floating in the Bhakra canal near Morinda. “A team headed by DSP Chamkaur Sahib was immediately sent to the spot at village Salempur along with drugs inspector and senior medical officer (SMO). Initially, around 300 Remdesivir and Cefoperazone vials were found from the canal,” said the SSP.

However, teams continued search operation upstream at village Balsanda, where more vials of both drugs were found, added the SSP, furthering that the process to register an FIR was ongoing and teams were still searching for more vials in the canal.

Subramaniam Swamy calls S Jaishankar a ‘waiter’ and says he tested positive for COVID: Netizens fume, EAM clarifies

On Friday, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy stoked a controversy after he targeted External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar by referring to him as a ‘waiter’ and falsely claimed that he was being quarantined in London due to Covid-19 and could not return to the country.

Taking to Twitter, motor-mouth BJP MP Subramanian Swamy, who has been putting out controversial statements against the saffron party lately, claimed that External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar was quarantined in London during his official visit to the United Kingdom to attend the G-7 meeting after some of the Indian diplomats were exposed to Covid-19.

Training guns at Jaishankar, Swamy claimed that Jaishankar had dressed like a ‘waiter’ during the meeting, and he cannot return to India as he was put under quarantine in London. He also asked EAM to refute his allegations if they were not true.

A day later, though not specifically to the comments made by Subramanian Swamy, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar has clarified on the media reports claiming Indian diplomats had tested positive during their official trip to the United Kingdom. Responding to the likes of Swamy, Jaishankar asserted that reports of positive tests were a false alarm and said all the team members were back in the country.

On Friday, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar returned to the country from London, where he had self-isolated following reports that some diplomats from the team accompanying him had exposed to Covid-19.

Earlier this week, there were certain reports that Jaishankar had acknowledged that he was made aware of exposure to possible Covid cases. Following this, EAM Jaishankar had tweeted that he had decided to conduct the engagements in the virtual mode as a measure of caution and out of consideration for others, including the G7 meeting.

Netizens call Subramanian Swamy out for his attacks against Dr Jaishankar

The insensitive and disrespectful attack against a senior Union Minister by Subramanian Swamy did not go well with netizens. Several social media users called out the controversial Rajya Sabha MP for his remark against the EAM, especially when the country is fighting a deadly pandemic.

Keshav said that Subramanian Swamy should be kicked out of BJP as he never deserved to be a party in the first place. He urged Prime Minister Modi to show Swamy ‘his place’.

Another social media user Yogesh Uniyal schooled Subramanian Swamy, saying that Jaishankar was a career diplomat before coming to politics, and he knew protocols much better than Swamy. He said Swamy is nothing but a crying babe after failing to become a minister in the Modi government.

A social media user mocked Subramanian Swamy for his theatrics, saying he was just jealous because he remained a Twitter troll while Jaishankar is the country’s External Affairs Minister.

SS Kumar revealed some interesting facts about Swamy’s deliberate attacks on EAM Jaishankar. According to Kumar, Swamy is close with the promoters of the far-left news website ‘The Hindu’, and he was successful in getting his daughter Suhasini Haider a job at the newspaper. Continuing, Kumar said that as Jaishankar had cut off Suhasini Haider from information on her beat, Swamy was training his guns at him.

Subramanian Swamy’s insensitive tweet against Dr Jaishankar comes at a time when the External Affairs Minister has been fighting a tough battle against foreign vested interests, who have launched massive propaganda to defame and humiliate India on international platforms.

Surat police arrest 5 for organising mass gathering to offer Namaz in violation of COVID-19 guidelines

Surat police have arrested 5 youths for allegedly organising a mass prayer on the night of May 6, which was in violation of the police commissioner-mandated prohibitory orders restraining a congregation of people due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As per Rander police, as many as 40 Muslims had gathered at Al Noor residency at Tadwadi and were offering namaz en masse, when the police raided the place and stopped them. The police later arrested the 5 organisers of the event, namely, Ashfak Navivala, Aslam Nathani, Ashraf Khimani, Vahab Godhil and Noman Vadharia, all residents of Al Noor residency.

Rander police said that IPC sections 188, 269, and relevant sections of the Disaster Management Act and Epidemic Disease Act have been invoked against the accused.

Mob pelts stones, attacks police for asking them to not offer namaz in huge crowd

This is not the first instance when mobs have defied the lockdown restrictions and assembled in large numbers to offer namaz. Last month, when the Wuhan Coronavirus cases were spiralling in various parts of the country, an unruly mob in Kapadvanj, Gujarat attacked policemen and pelted stones after the cops asked them to not gather in a huge crowd for offering namaz.

The mob gathered in large number and attacked Kundvav police chowki and Town police station. Two bikes and one car were burnt down by the mob. The Kundvav police station was also destroyed by the mob. The mob then proceeded to attack the Town police station and started pelting stones. To control the violent mob, police had to resort to using tear gas. In all this, one police personnel was injured.
