NIA arrests top-cop Sachin Vaze for his role in planting bomb-laden car near Mukesh Ambani’s Antilia: Details

The National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) on Saturday arrested controversial ‘Encounter specialist’ Sachin Vaze, who is at the centre of the investigation in connection with the mysterious death of Mansukh Hiren and the explosives-laden car found outside the residence of Mukesh Ambani. The Maharashtra Assistant Police Inspector was arrested at 11.50 PM on Saturday, after being grilled by the central agency for 12 hours. Vaze will be presented before the court on Sunday.

Vaze has been arrested under Sections 286 (Negligent conduct with respect to explosive substance), 465 (Punishment for forgery), 473 (Making or possessing counterfeit seal), 506(2) (criminal intimidation), 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of Indian Penal Code and 4(a)(b)(I)(attempt to cause an explosion) of the Explosive Substances Act, 1908.

A top official was quoted as saying that Vaze is part of the group that planted the explosive-laden Scorpio on Carmichael Road (near Antilia) on February 25. “He has confessed to it”, the official was quoted by Hindustan Times as saying.

Speaking about the arrest, an NIA spokesperson said that Sachin Vaze has been arrested for his “role and involvement in placing an explosives-laden vehicle near Carmichael Road on February 25”. Now, the Maharashtra top cop will also be investigated for his alleged role in the death of Mansukh Hiren, who was the owner of the Scorpio found near the Ambani residence.

It was earlier reported that the central agency had called Sachin Vaze to its office on Saturday morning to record his statement since he had been heading the probe and was accused of using the explosives-laden SUV before it went missing.

The police had traced an explosive-laden SUV, found near business tycoon Mukesh Ambani’s residence last month, to Mansukh Hiren, an auto part dealer, whose body was later found in a Thane creek this month. After Mansukh Hiren’s death, his wife, Vimla Hiren alleged that the vehicle was lent out to Sachin Vaze for four months till February 5, a few days after which it was reported stolen. She had accused Vaze of killing her husband.

Anticipatory bail plea of Sachin Vaze gets rejected, cop puts out message hinting at his death

Earlier in the day, we had reported that the Vaze’s anticipatory bail plea had been rejected by the Sessions Court in Thane. Soon after, Vaze had put out a WhatsApp status where he had hinted at his death in a cryptic message. In a WhatsApp status, claiming that he has become the target of false allegations, Sachin Vaze said that his ‘time to say goodbye to the world’ is coming closer.

Maharashtra top cop removed from the Mumbai Police Crime Branch

On Wednesday, Sachin Vaze was removed from the Mumbai Police Crime Branch after his name surfaced in connection with the matter. The case had gotten murkier and murkier after it was reported that Vaze was in touch with Mansukh Hiren, the owner of the car, since June 2020. Hiren was subsequently found dead in the Kalwa creek, which only served to deepen the mystery surrounding the attack against Mukesh Ambani.

The Maharashtra ATS have already interrogated and recorded his statement in the matter.

‘Encounter cop’ Sachin Vaze has a problematic past, to say the least. He was accused in the custodial death case of one Khwaja Younis. Under suspicion, he was suspended from the police force. After his suspension, he had joined the Shiv Sena and had been only recently reinstated by the Uddhav Thackeray led government.

Mamata Banerjee was injured in an accident, no evidence of attack: Says report by special observers to the EC

0

A detailed report into the injury suffered by Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram has said that the CM was not attacked by anyone, and she was injured in an accident. This was found by the special observers Vivek Dubey and Ajay Nayak, who were asked by the Election Commission to submit a report on the incident.

According to reports citing sources, the report by the special observers has ruled out any possibility of an attack on Mamata Banerjee, saying there is no evidence of any attack. The observers said that the CM was surrounded by heavy police cover at the time of the incident, and it was not possible for anyone to come near her and push her causing the injury, as claimed by the CM minutes after the incident on Wednesday.

Special police observer Vivek Dubey and special observer Ajay Nayak inspected the accident site in Nandigram before submitting their detailed report to the Election Commission on Saturday.

The Election Commission had sought two reports on the incident, one from the chief secretary and the other from the observers. The Chief Secretary had submitted the report earlier, but the EC was not satisfied with it, and had asked to submit a revised report with more details.

The report by the chief secretary had said that the Mamata Banerjee was hit by the door of her car, officially ruling out the ‘attack’ theory. But the report didn’t mention how the door hit the CM’s leg, and if anyone responsible for it. The EC had asked the Chief Secretary to furnish a fresh report including all such details.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was injured on Wednesday evening in Nandigram, where she had claimed that she was pushed by 4-5 people, and there was no police security around her. Following it, the TMC leaders had launched a massive attack against BJP and the Election Commission, accusing them of the ‘attack’.

However, a video message issued by Mamata Banerjee the next day from the hospital didn’t mention anything about being attacked, and had said that she was crushed by her car. It was after several eyewitnesses said that the CM was injured after the open door of her moving car had hit an iron pillar on the road, causing the door to hit her leg forcefully, causing the injury. Locals had said the Mamata Banerjee had kept the door open and kept the legs out of the car to greet the crowd standing on the roadside, which was confirmed by video footage of the incident.

As TMC leaders had tried to drag the name of Election Commission with the incident, alleging that entire police administration is under the EC during the elections, the EC had sought reports from the state govt and the special observers. Now both the reports have confirmed that Mamata Banerjee was injured in an accident, and she was not attacked.

‘Savarnas’ and ‘Intersectional equity’: Climate Justice is more about Leftist ‘Woke’ politics than climate, Disha Ravi’s statement shows why

Disha Ravi has been at the heart of the global campaign against India over the farmer protests. The climate activist was arrested in connection with the Greta toolkit case and was subsequently granted bail by the Court.

After she was granted bail in the last week of February, Disha Ravi has now issued a statement describing her experience at Tihar jail. If nothing else, the statement definitively proves why ‘Climate Justice’ and ‘Climate Activism’ is a humongous scam of indescribable proportions.

In a flowery statement that gives one the distinct impression that the author of it has a tendency to meander into fantastical realms that have very little to do with troublesome reality, Disha Ravi said, “Climate Justice is about intersectional equity. It is about being radically inclusive of all groups of people, so that everyone has access to clean air, food and water.”

“It is a fight alongside those who are displaced; whose rivers have been poisoned; whose lands were stolen; who watch their houses get washed away every other season; and those who fight tirelessly for what are basic human rights,” she said.

Source: Twitter

It is an intriguing choice of words that the climate activist makes here. Her words convey the impression that ‘climate justice’ is not merely a policy objective, indeed, it is a spiritual imperative. The red flag, nonetheless, is the use of the word “intersectional” here.

Intersectionality is an ideological framework that classifies individuals into the categories of the oppressor and the oppressed and focuses itself to understanding how different aspects of an individual’s identity interact with each other to contribute to his or her position in the ‘Oppressional Hierarchy’.

For instance, Whites occupy the highest position in the ‘Oppressional Hierarchy’ in the West. Simultaneously, men are more privileged than women. Therefore, intersectionality postulates that Black women are more oppressed than black men because the former is a victim of both Patriarchy and White Privilege.

But heterosexual Black women are less oppressed than homosexual Black women because the former enjoys straight privilege and the latter, in turn, is more privileged than Transgender people from the Black community because they enjoy cis-privilege.

In the Indian context, Hindu Brahmin men are theorized to occupy the pole position in the hierarchy. But it’s all stupid as it does not take into account economic class into consideration and individual circumstances. For instance, in the West, Jussie Smollett, a rich Hollywood actor, is considered to be less privileged than a White working class man, which is idiocy.

In India, a poor Brahmin man who struggles to make ends meet is considered more privileged than someone like Lalu Prasad Yadav or Congress leader Udit Raj. What is obvious is that intersectionality is about politics, not justice.

Thus, when Disha Ravi says ‘Climate Justice’ is about “intersectional equity”, she makes it evident that it has very little to do with climate and everything to do with far Left politics.

Disha Ravi goes on to add, “We fight alongside those actively silenced by the masses and portrayed as ‘voiceless’, because it is easier for savarnas to call them voiceless. We take the easy way out and fund saviourism rather than amplify the voices on ground.”

Thus, the ideological orientations is pretty clear. The mask of ‘Climate Activist’ she wears is preposterous, she is just another caste activist of the ‘Woke’ variety. The amusing thing here is that the farmer protests is driven by the dominant caste in Haryana and Punjab to protect their interests. That ‘Woke’ Disha Ravi believes them to be her ally is a joke at multiple levels.

Others have, of course, pointed out the dichotomy between Climate Activism and supporting the environmentally destructive farming practices that the farmer unions have been fighting to protect. Therefore, we shall not elaborate on that. However, the words she has chosen to describe her experience betray the fact that her activism was the consequence of a young mind under the influence of revolutionary zeal.

Source: Twitter

“Ideas do not die,” she says, which leaves the reader with the distinct impression that it is a much less awe inspiring version of the iconic dialogue from the movie V for Vendetta where V says, “Ideas are bulletproof”.

As is imperative in such intersectional declarations, Disha Ravi humbly prostrates like a true believer and confesses her privilege and draws attention to others who do not have access to legal assistance as she did. Such an admission of one’s own privilege is a ritual rite of passage in intersectional circles.

The most important aspect of her statement is the admission that she had difficulty coming to terms with the fact that she could go to jail. It is emblematic of the world liberals are trying to create, a world where one does not have to suffer the consequences of her own actions.

Source: Twitter

“I had coerced myself into believing that the only way I would be able to live through this was by tricking myself into thinking that this wasn’t happening to me – the police did not knock on my door on 15 February, 2021; they did not take my phone and laptop, and arrest me; they did not present me at Patiala House Court; the media personnel were not trying to find a place inside the room,” she says.

Disha Ravi continued, “As I stood in that courtroom, desperately searching for my lawyers, I came to terms with the fact that I would have to defend myself. I had no idea whether there was legal assistance available so when the judge asked me if I have anything to say, I decided to speak my mind. Before I knew it, I was sent to 5 days in police custody.”

Her WhatsApp chats reported in the media revealed that she was aware of the possibility that UAPA charges may be pressed against her. But one is inclined to concede the possibility that she had a hard time believing that it was indeed coming true.

But once again, it reveals the fact that the ‘activists’ do not really weigh the consequences of their activism seriously. What else did she expect to happen when she was aligning herself with foreign actors who do not have the national interests of India in their heart?

What did she believe was going to happen when she engaged in ‘activism’ that jeopardised Indian national interests? Did she expect the Indian government to shower flowers on her? Now that she had to suffer the consequence of her actions, she is crying victim.

Everyone wants to be a hero these days but no one wants to suffer as heroes do. Disha Ravi is quite clearly consumed by the moral righteousness activism bestows on recruits. ‘Activists’ are convinced of the moral superiority of their actions and seldom take the time to consider whether the results of their activism will be beneficial for society at large.

They are consumed by visions of grandeur and come to endorse the toxic belief is that activism for the sake of it is virtuous in itself. ‘Aandolanjeevis’ are at the forefront of every protests but when such ‘protests’ escalate into violence like it did on Republic Day, they are quick to wash their hands off it. As Tywin Lannister opined, “Men love to blame demons when their grand plans unravel.”

The biggest takeaway from Disha’s statement is that Climate Activism is a brand of ‘Woke politics’ that concerns itself very little with the consequences of the policies they propose. Consistent with the dogma of ‘Woke politics’, ‘Climate Justice’ is intended to satiate the spiritual zeal of its adherents, not improve the lives of the very people it claims to serve.

Pakistani university expels 2 students after video of girl proposing boy and hugging each other inside the campus went viral

On Friday (March 12), the University of Lahore in Pakistan expelled two students for public display of affection within the campus. The shocking case of moral policing comes a day after a video of a couple hugging each other at the University went viral on social media.

In the said video, a woman identified as Hadiqa Javaid was seen bending on her knees and offering a bouquet of flowers to a man named Shehryar Ahmad. Accepting the flowers, he then pulled her closer for a warm hug. A large crowd of students had gathered to catch a glimpse of the unconventional spectacle.

While they hugged, the crowd cheered them on. Both of them were students at the University. However, the viral video did not go down well with the University administration. In a statement, the Office of the Registrar claimed that the Hadiqa and Shehryar were involved in ‘gross misconduct and violation of University rules.

The University claimed that a special disciplinary committee was constituted on Friday and the said students were asked to appear before them. According to the university, the duo failed to appear before the committee. While invoking Section 9 of its General Discipline Rules and Code of Conduct, the administration expelled the couple from the university.

Moreover, they also invoked Section 16 and barred them from entering the university campus and its sub-campuses. The harsh punishment imposed by the varsity has sparked a debate online about the brazen moral policing in Pakistani campuses. However, several Islamists have come forward to justify the stringent action in the name of ‘Islamic morality.

Islamists shame couple, hail the decision of the varisty

“Is it Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s educational institute? A girl proposed her Boyfriend publicly in University of Lahore. A big shame for @ULahore ‘s administration!!!” wrote one handle.

“If you had married, then, we would have appreciated. If you want to become like cheap Englishmen and women, then, you will be insulted”, wrote another Islamist.

“Shamelessness at its peak”, wrote one Hira Nawaz satti.

Hindu Council of Australia slams NSW Senator David Shoebridge who called RSS and VHP ‘Neo Nazis’: Details

David Shoebridge, Senator in New South Wales, Australia, sparked a controversy recently after he called the RSS and VHP ‘neo Nazis’. The senator made the comments during a meeting with State Senator Geoff Lee, the Acting Minister for Sport, Multiculturalism, Seniors and Veterans on the 5th of March.

“How did Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), right-wing Hindu organisation that is considered a military extremist religious organisation by the CIA, find themselves in New South Wales public schools?” Shoebridge asked. “Are these neo-Nazi groups on the government’s radar, and if so, what is going to be done about it,” he added.

David Shoebridge stated further, “The most recent attack that I’ve heard of, which was again at Harris Park and again as recently as Sunday night, was where four young men from the Sikh community were celebrating. In fact, they got a new car, and then it was smashed. They were stopped on the street, and it was smashed. In the course of the assault, I understand, that the assailants identified the reason they were smashing was because of the occupants being from the Sikh community. And it came from a far-right extremist political position.”

“I have not seen a single report of a violent act coming from any part of the political spectrum from the Indian community other than the extremist, right-wing Hindu nationalist part of the community,” he stated.

David Shoebridge, here, appears to be unaware of the recent history of violence at Harris Park. In August 2020, there was a massive brawl between Haryanvis and Khalistanis which was the consequence of an escalation of a TikTok battle.

One thing led to another and soon, there were two groups at Harris Park going hammer and tongs at each other. The main culprit behind that brawl was believed to be one Khalistani called Jassi and community leaders from both sides stepped in to deescalate the matter.

The circumstances of the current instance of violence are unclear and the assailants are reportedly yet to be identified. However, police believe that it is linked to the farmer protests in India. Given the fact that two Sikh youths were reportedly arrested the last time around, the obvious thing to do here is to wait till an investigation in the matter is completed. But David Shoebridge, here, is clearly too impatient for that.

Hindu organisations in Australia have now issued a statement condemning the NSW Senator’s remarks. The Hindu Council of Australia said, “The recent unprovoked Hinduphobic attacks are based on phantom charges against the Australian Hindu community like caste-based discrimination and the dowry system as only a Hindu practice.”

Hindu Council of Australia statement against David Shoebridge

“These phantom imputations have encouraged direct attacks, using abusive language, on various Hindus across Australia on social media, threat letters to community members by an international terrorist organisation causing harassment to the community,” it said.

Condemning Shoebridge’s “baseless allegations” about Hindu extremism in Australia, the Hindu Council of Australia demanded that evidence be produced before them so that as a community, Hindus can take effective measures against them. The statement also demanded the government and relevant agencies to put an end to Hinduphobia and hate attacks.

It is pertinent to mention here that Shoebridge had attended a demonstration in support of farmer protests in India and a video of the same was uploaded on the YouTube channel of Pieter Friedrich, a person that had surfaced in the Greta toolkit which exposed a global campaign against India.

Pieter Friedrich also happens to be an associate of a Khalistani ISI operative.

‘Apolitical farmer protest’ leader Rakesh Tikait seen riding a ‘Congress Tractor’ in Jodhpur

Though Rakesh Tikait, the leader of the ‘apolitical farmers protest’ has repeatedly declared to keep the agitation off-limits for political parties, he himself has been regularly seen departing from this strategy. Tikait, who has been continuously describing his platform as completely non-political, was on Friday spotted with several Congress leaders in Jodhpur.

On March 12, the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait was in Kharia Khangar in Bhopalgarh subdivision in Jodhpur, as part of his ‘Mahapanchayat’ rally, a five-state tour being executed by Tikait to drum up support for the farmers’ protest, when he was welcomed by scores of Congress leaders, including former Congress MP Badriram Jakhar, former district chief Munnidevi Godara, former deputy district chief Hiralal Mundel, former RAJSICO President Sunil Parihar, former municipality chief Babulal Tak, Ranaram Nain, VP Singh Kud, district Rajlani’s Sarpanch and Congress member Paras Gurjar, etc.

The BKU leader was not only seen leading a gathering of Congress leaders but was also seen riding a tractor that bore a Congress party banner welcoming Tikait to Jodhpur.

The poster had senior Congress leader and former MP Badriram Jakhar’s name written on it. After the picture of Rakesh Tikait riding the ‘Congress tractor’ went viral on the microblogging site, social media users called out Tikait for his deception and double standards.

Tikait, of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, has five rallies planned in Rajasthan in this month. It is evident that through these farmers’ meetings Tikait is actually trying to build up his own political base.

Earlier today, Rakesh Tikait reached Kolkata airport where he was received by TMC’s Dola Sen in poll-bound West Bengal. Here too, Tikait was seen spending time with various TMC leaders and appealing to people to vote against the Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming Assembly elections in West Bengal. According to reports, Tikait and other ‘farmer leaders’ are also slated to visit Nandigram on Saturday evening, while they will go to Singur and Asansol on Sunday.

What becomes extremely apparent here is that Rakesh Tikait, who was a forgotten man until the current protests were launched, has only been using the ongoing farmer’s agitation as a tool to, resurrect his political career, even if, in the process, he had to mastermind farmer tractor rally that led to an insurrection on 26th January, he had no qualms in doing so.

While Rahul Gandhi questions the rise in Adani’s wealth in 2021, Gautam Adani had registered highest wealth gain during UPA too

Although the Congress party does not identify itself as completely left-wing party, the party brought economic liberalisation after all, party leader Rahul Gandhi is trying very hard to project himself as an anti-rich politician. After running the entire 2019 Lok Sabha election blaming the Modi government of giving Rs 30,000 crore to Anil Ambani through the Rafale fighter deal, the former Congress president has decided to accuse PM Modi of helping his ‘two friends’ Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani ahead of the assembly elections.

Therefore, when reports emerged that Gautam Adani gained the highest amount of wealth in this year so far, it was a perfect moment for Rahul Gandhi to use the news to attack the Modi government. Quoting a news report saying that Adani’s gain in wealth this year is even more than gains made by Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk, Rahul Gandhi wanted to how Adani made his money. “How much did your wealth increase in 2020? Zero. You struggle to survive while he makes ₹ 12 Lakh Cr and increases his wealth by 50%. Can you tell me why?” Rahul Gandhi tweeted on Saturday.

While he didn’t mention anything else, it is evident that he wants to insinuate the Adani Group chairman saw the rise in his wealth due to the help of ‘friend’ Narendra Modi. Because, that is what he is alleging non-stop for last several months. Be it election rally, or meeting farmers, fishermen or students, he only says one thing these days, that PM Modi is helping his two friends.

However, this is not the first time that Gautam Adani is number one in terms of the increase in his wealth. It happened in earlier also, and earlier it happened during the Congress-led UPA government. In the year 2011, the chairman of the Adani Group was the highest wealth creator in the country, with his wealth doubling to Rs 33,211 crore. At that time, Dr Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister of India, while Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

In 2007, Gautam Adani was listed as 13th richest Indian in the list of Forbes 40 richest Indians. By 2011, his rank had reached 7th, with $ 8.2 billion net wealth.

Contrary to what Rahul Gandhi would want people to believe, Indian multinational conglomerate Adani Group is creating wealth for decades, it didn’t start doing business after Narendra Modi led NDA govt came to power in 2014.

Moreover, it may be noted that the wealth of business leaders like Musk and Adani are mostly based on the share markets. The value of their wealth is estimated based on the value shares they hold in their companies. Therefore, their wealth is a factor of how the market values their companies. It is largely dependent on the performance of the companies, and the business outlook of the sectors in which they operate.

After Yashwant Sinha joins TMC, netizens wonder which party Subramanian Swamy might join

On Saturday, former BJP leader Yashwant Sinha joined the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress ahead of the West Bengal assembly elections. Yashwant Singh, who had quit the saffron party in 2018, has been critical of the BJP after he was sidelined by the party leadership post the 2014 general elections.

Ever since then, Sinha has been admonishing the Narendra Modi-led government on various issues and had also gone to the extent of joining hands with radical left-wing elements such as Prashant Bhushan to oppose BJP and its policies. Since leaving the party, he had joined the efforts demanding an investigation into the procurement of the Rafale jets, but the Supreme Court rejected the petitions as they lacked merits.

After losing political relevance and all the goodwill he had earned through years, Sinha, desperate for some sort of limelight, has now begun his second innings in politics by joining the TMC.

As Sinha joined TMC, several social media users debated the possibility of other side-lined leaders from the BJP quitting the party to join other political parties to kick start their already dead political career. One name that was discussed extensively is none other than BJP MP and Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy.

Netizens pointed out that Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy could be the next person who could jump the ship amidst his deteriorating relationship with the BJP. Subramanian Swamy has been at the crossroads with the BJP and has been lately critical of its policies. Time-and-again, Swamy has taken a swipe at the NDA-led administration to express his displeasure over several policy issues.

Subramanian Swamy’s relationship with the BJP turning sour

Subramanian Swamy, off late, has been extremely critical against his own party and has not wasted any chance to take pot-shots against the Modi government. Taking to Twitter, just a few days back, Swamy had claimed that Modi had reached his moment of truth as the claims of India being the world leader has been punctured.

Targeting the government over its decision to join the QUAD initiative, Swamy, who is often accused of being sympathetic to China, said that as a leader, Modi must choose between BRICS or QUAD, or he will end up as the bat in Panchatantra.

Subramanian Swamy

During the India-China border clash that erupted last year, Swamy had indulged in politics to criticise the Modi government. Citing a dubious report from far-left news outlet The Hindu, Swamy had mocked PM Modi by calling a Chowkidar.

Subramanian Swamy

In September last year, Subramanian Swamy had also fired his guns against the party’s Information and Technology (IT) cell head Amit Malviya for running a campaign against him. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy had also given an ultimatum to the BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda, saying that if Amit Malaviya is not removed from the BJP IT cell by Thursday, then he will have to defend himself.

Swamy’s confrontation with Amit Malviya had indicated that not everything was smooth between the Rajya Sabha MP and the saffron party.

Subramanian Swamy peddles conspiracy theories, attacks Modi government often

Shockingly, during the Red Fort riots, Swamy peddled conspiracy theories against the Modi government, saying that there were rumours that Prime Minister Office orchestrated the Red Fort siege. He had speculated that PMO acted as an agent provocateur in the Red Fort drama. However, Swamy acknowledged that the rumours could be fake.

Sidelined by the high command of the BJP, Swamy was once again found clutching at straws in February to undermine the central government when he took a jibe at petrol prices in India by invoking the Ramayana. He said that petrol cost Rs. 92 in “Ram’s India”, Rs. 53 in “Sita’s Nepal” and Rs. 51 in “Ravan’s Lanka”. While some might believe it was a clever jibe, the fact is it was far from the truth.

Subramanian Swamy shares a ‘WhatsApp forward’

A few weeks later, Subramanian Swamy had also launched a crusade against the Union Budget that was presented by Nirmala Sitharaman even though it has earned praise from all quarters of the political spectrum.

It is no secret that Swamy has not taken well to being side-lined from the party. Unable to affect any real changes, he can be often spotted on social media peddling misinformation.

Social media users says Swamy will quit the party soon

Speculating that Swamy might be at the end of his political journey with the BJP, many netizens speculated that Subramanian Swamy might also follow the likes of Yashwant Sinha to join any opposition party.

Social media users asked Swamy whether he would join the TMC just like Sinha.

As Swamy has often praised Mamata Banerjee, other social media users claimed that he might soon join TMC. He said Swamy might negotiate and present her with a five village offer too.

Aparajit Bharat mentioned that Swamy has a history of changing political party based on his convenience, and he might do the same shortly.

Another user, Jiten Gajaria, had a different point to make. He said TMC would not take Swamy as he is a ‘bigger motor mouth’ than Mamata. Gajaria said Swamy would make Mamata sound soft and sensible.

BJP leader Tajinder Bagga asked Swamy whether the rumours were true.

Well, one has to wait and see whether Subramanian Swamy will be disciplined by the BJP or will he jump the ship to join any other party. Only time and Subramanian Swamy can provide an answer.

FIR filed against Akhilesh Yadav and SP workers for assault on journalists, SP files counter-complaint against two reporters

An FIR has been registered against SP leader and former Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav for an incident where journalists were assaulted at a press conference in Moradabad. Apart from Yadav, 20 members of the Samajwadi Party also have been named in the FIR. The FIR has been registered at the Pakbara police station in Moradabad district under sections 147, 323 and 342 of the Indian Penal Code.

Along with that, a separate FIR also has been lodged against the journalists, as two separate complaints were submitted in connection with the same case.

The case against the former CM and his party workers were registered after a group of journalists had submitted a complaint against them. On the other hand, SP had also lodged a complaint against the journalists, blaming them for the incident. The journalists’ association has named Akhilesh Yadav and Samajwadi Party workers in its complaint. And, Samajwadi Party has named two journalists in its FIR.

Uttar Pradesh ADG (Law and order) Prashant Kumar said that the FIRs were lodged based on complaints from both parties. “The cross FIRs were lodged based on complaints from both sides. Further action will be taken based on the merits of the cases. An investigation is underway,” he said. The ADG added that police is scanning the CCTV footage of the venue, and the incident is being probed.

On Thursday, a ruckus had broken out between a group of journalists and the supporters of Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav at a hotel in Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh. The former Chief Minister was in the city to attend the wedding of an MLA and had conducted a press conference at the said hotel on Thursday evening.

A video of the incident had gone viral on social media, where Akhilesh Yadav was seen pushing and shoving through the crowd. He was also heard yelling at the journalists saying “BJP ke liye kaam mat karo” (Don’t work for the BJP). When the journalists sought answers from the Samajwadi Party chief, his supporters and security personnel assaulted, pushed and shoved the reporters.

During the ruckus, a reporter named Fareed Shamsi took a severe blow to his nose from Yadav’s security guard’s rifle.

Sitaram Yechury claims Abbas Siddiqui, who wanted Allah to send virus that killed 50 crore Indians, will save India: Here is everything he said

Ahead of the upcoming polls in West Bengal, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has joined hands with rabid Islamist forces in the State. With an eye to gain political mileage and strengthen its hold over the Muslim vote bank, it has allied with Pirzada Abbas Siddiqui and his Indian Secular Front (ISF).

In an interview with Jyoti Malhotra of The Print on Thursday (March 11), CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury was seen desperately trying to justify the party’s decision. On being asked about the rationale behind forging an alliance with Furfura Sharif Pirzada Abbas Siddiqui, Sitaram Yechury justified, “They are saying that it is an Indian secular front. Now, our target is to keep the BJP from the reigns of power. Now, what people do in their personal lives do not bother (matter) in politics.”

He then tried to deflect the conversation to the BJP by asking a counter-question to the interviewer as to why BJP gets overwhelming support of saints and Hindu pandits. “What about Yogi Adityanath,” he asked. Jyoti Malhotra replied that Yogi Adityanath in his personal capacity has the right to contest elections and hold public office. “So, why doesn’t Abbas Siddiqui have that right?”, Yechury tried to draw parallels between the two.

(Video Courtesy: Youtube/ The Print)

CPI (M) leader accepts that Abbas Siddiqui is communal

Malhotra emphasised, “This is because the speeches that he has made are openly communal. You know that.” In a bid to dodge the question, the CPI (M) leader engaged in whataboutery yet again. However, in doing so, he indirectly admitted that his ally Abbas Siddiqui is ‘communal.’ “…And UP CM doesn’t (engage in communalism)? The sauce for the goose is the sauce for the gander. Jyoti, please understand. You can’t have different yardsticks,” he said.

Sitaram Yechury engages in whataboutery to justify his ally

The interviewer further prodded, “Do you accept that Abba Siddiqui’s speeches are communal?” Yechury went into a defensive mode and justified, “What he does in his personal life is his (choice)…We believe that your religion, allegiance to any Faith is your personal belief. It has to remain at that level, which has to be protected by the State and the Constitution. Their cannot be mixing up of religion with politics or running of the State administration.”

Interestingly, the Marxist leader claimed that the President, Prime Minister, UP Governor and UP Chief Minister have been sitting for the construction of the Ram Mandir, even though individuals are free to practice their own Faith in their personal capacity. Yechury drew up the analogy to suggest that Abbas Siddiqui was free to practice his own Faith. However, the objection to the alliance between the Left and Siddiqui’s party is problematic not because of the religion of the cleric but the genocidal remarks he had made about his fellow Indians.

CPIM allied with Siddiqui to save India, claims Yechury

Jyoti Malhotra then clarified, “BJP never said that it will not mix religion and politics. At the Brigade ground rally, there was a banner that said that ‘we are the alternative, we are secular’. When you ally with someone like Abbas Siddiqui, you are certainly not secular.” In his defence, Yechury suggested that since Siddiqui was from Indian ‘Secular’ Front, therefore, he must be secular himself.

On being asked whether he was repeating the BJP model, the Marxist leader’s justification was that the Left would ally with anyone who would save India. “We are not doing this because somebody else is doing something. We are saying that we are aligning with those forces who want to save India from this completely destructive direction which will undermine the Constitution that created this independent India.”

Abbas Siddiqui and his radical Islamist views

While the opposition of Sitaram Yechury to BJP can be attributed to political compulsion, the idea behind saving India seems ironical. During the outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus in the world, a video of Abbas Siddiqui shot on February 26 last year had gone viral on social media. He was seen addressing a large gathering of followers and praying to Allah to kill 50 crore Indians with the virus.

In the video, the cleric was heard referring to anti-Hindu Delhi riots and saying, “Recently I have got the news that mosques are being set on fire, mosques are being burnt for the last two days. I think something is going to happen within a month. May Allah accept our prayers. May Allah send such a terrible virus to India that ten to twenty to fifty crore people die in India. Am I saying something wrong? It is absolutely blissful.”

Recently, Abbas Siddiqui was seen fuelling separatism in the State. “In the next election, we will free our homeland even if it requires shedding our blood for it,” he threatened. His violent rhetoric bore an uncanny resemblance with the slogan “Ladke lenge Pakistan (We will fight until we get Pakistan)” of the separatist leaders of the Muslim League in 1946. Siddiqui’s incendiary rhetoric, fear-mongering and calls for ‘divine intervention for death of Hindus have been conveniently ignored by the Left.
