Stop complaining otherwise Uddhav will resign: Congress leader issues warning to disgruntled legislators in Maharashtra

Even as reports are emerging that the constituents of Maha Vikas Aghadi were dissatisfied with the alliance over the distribution of portfolios, senior Congress leader and Ex-MP Yashwantrao Gadakh had yesterday warned the party-men and leaders of NCP to behave properly or else Uddhav Thackeray might resign.

The comment from the former MP came on the heels of dissatisfaction expressed by Congress leaders over allocation of cabinet berths and portfolios. Congress’ Vijay Wadettiwar, who was the leader of the opposition after Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil switched over to BJP, was disappointed after being allotted with earthquake rehabilitation and the OBC and SEBC portfolios. There were reports doing the rounds that several other ministers are unhappy over the portfolio distribution.

Cautioning the disgruntled ministers, Gadakh said that Uddhav Thackeray is not a “regular politician” but has a “mindset of an artist”. “Stop complaining about the portfolios allotted or else Uddhav Thackeray will resign,” Gadakh said.

On December 30, 2019, almost a month after the formation of the government in Maharashtra, the Uddhav Thackeray-led government in the state announced the list of ministers selected to be inducted in the expanded cabinet. NCP’s Ajit Pawar took oath as the state’s deputy chief minister while Thackeray’s son Aaditya Thackeray was also included the cabinet. NCP emerged out as a clear winner as it bagged key portfolios such as Home and Finance while the other important portfolios such as Revenue and PWD were given to the Congress party.

However, several ministers and leaders were disappointed with the cabinet expansion. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut was reportedly upset with his brother Sunil Raut’s exclusion from the cabinet. Abdul Sattar had quit as he was given the status of junior minister. He had, however, later withdrew his resignation.

Confirming the discontent brewing among the legislators, Rajya Sabha member and the President of the Republic Party Ramdas Athawale said that the MLAs in Maharashtra were indeed unhappy over the portfolio allotment. “Some of the leaders are upset over not getting the expected ministry, others are unhappy over exclusion from the cabinet and many others are disappointed with the allotted bungalow but it is true that if they want to stay in power they will have to keep Uddhav Thackeray happy,” Athawale said.

PoK minister poses with a hunting shotgun wearing track pants and fedora and threatens Indian Army chief saying ‘we are ready’

Parody country Pakistan has clowns for minister. Days after Indian Army chief said that Indian Army is ready to take back Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) if the Parliament agrees and gives orders, PoK minister Mushtaq Minhas took to Twitter to threaten General MM Naravane saying that ‘we’ (Pakistanis) are ready.

While it is not sure whether he was eagerly looking forward to PoK coming back to India and was welcoming Indian Army chief, the bird hunting shotgun he was holding didn’t really seem that welcoming.

Dressed in track pants, sporting a fedora hat, he looked more like an old man enjoying his retirement and way less frightening. Netizens left not time to make fun of the minister for making a fool of himself.

Even PUBG players have better guns.

Pakistanis themselves could not hide their embarrassment.

DK Shivakumar’s Christ statue: RSS, VHP protest against 114 feet tall statue project on alleged grazing land

Members of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Hindu Jagran Vedike staged a protest against the proposal for the construction of 114 feet Jesus Christ statue in Kanakapura district of Karnataka.

Hundreds of protestors had gathered at Kanakapura to protest against the project. The state government had deployed over 1000 policemen to maintain law and order in the area.

The project encompasses the building of the world’s largest Jesus Christ statue at DK Shivakumar’s bastion- Kapalibetta in Kanakapura.

Responding to the protests, Shivakumar said that it was not him but the Christian residents of the village who decided to get a Jesus Christ’s statue and being an MLA he simply helped them.

The statue is set to come up at Harobele, a village dominated by Christians in Shivakumar’s constituency. On Christmas, Shivakumar handed over the documents to the trust tasked with the responsibility of building the statue.

BJP leaders have not only questioned the legality of the land allocation, but also the motive behind the statue, alleging there are attempts of forced conversions in the area.

However, the issue of senior Congress leader DK Shivakumar ‘sponsoring’ the construction of a 114-foot statue of Jesus Christ has sparked off a controversy as the ruling BJP government sought a report from local authorities regarding the status of the land that was earmarked for the project.

Revenue Minister R Ashoka had said that the land allotted was gomal (grazing) and not a barren one as claimed by Shivakumar. “I have asked the deputy commissioner of Ramanagara district to submit a report on the land allotment,” he added.

DK Shivakumar’s move to ‘donate’ land for Jesus Christ statue in Karnataka invited sharp criticism from the BJP with former Union minister Ananthkumar Hegde attacked him by saying, “A Tihar returned gentleman is trying to please his Italian mother for a post by demonstrating his gallantry through a statue of Jesus Christ. It will not be surprising if more Ghulams (slaves) from Congress jumped into the arena of appeasement politics.”

The statue is slated to be 114 feet, 13 feet of which would be comprised of steps, which have already been laid. The famous ‘Christ The Redeemer’ statue in Rio Di Janeiro, Brazil stands at 98 feet, excluding its 26-feet pedestal.

Rajdeep Sardesai lies in a Hyderabad speech just days after apologising unconditionally in court for spreading fake news

Indians no longer voting for values, but for individuals”– thus spoke India’s most controversial journalist Rajdeep Sardesai. While his contempt towards the voter of the country is not new, this was the headline of a glowing article that The Hindu published about his speech in Hyderabad yesterday. We were told that “Mr Sardesai explained 10 trends he has spotted.”

Just days after apologizing to the High Court of Telangana (located in Hyderabad) for spreading fake news in 2007, Rajdeep Sardesai stood in front of an audience in Hyderabad and continued to mutter lie after lie. We are told that Rajdeep Sardesai stated that “debates were invited after bringing in Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA)”. Apparently, he further added that “democracy demands the opposite which is holding dialogue, consultation, and deciding course of action”.

The Citizenship Amendment Bill that intended to fast track citizenship for persecuted minorities in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan was first tabled in the Lok Sabha in the year 2016. Yes, in the year 2016. It was introduced in the Lok Sabha on July 19, 2016. It was further referred to a Joint Parliamentary Committee on August 12, 2016. The JPC submitted its report on Jan 07, 2019. The Lok Sabha passed this bill on January 08, 2019. All through these 2.5 years, the bill was in the public domain. There were even protests in Assam against this bill. This bill went through the exact same process that any other bill goes through and through vigorous debates in the committees as well as on the floor of the house.

This bill was rejected in the Rajya Sabha and lapsed once the 16th Lok Sabha’s term ended in May 2019. The BJP and the NDA won back a stronger mandate based on their performance and promises (which included this bill). Because the government listened to the concerns from the 2016 bill, they bought in relevant provisions in the fresh bill of August 2019, that safeguarded the North East states of India.

For a moment, let’s leave aside 2016. Former MP and current VP of BJP, Shri Jay Panda tweeted excerpts from the “Report of Committee on Home Affairs on the Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2003”. Yes, in the year 2003. The committee was headed by Shri Pranab Mukherjee. The report clearly recommends that “Indian Citizenship should be granted to Bangladeshi and Pakistani minority refugees.” It further reinforces that “Citizenship must be granted only to Bangladeshi minority refugees and not to the majority”.

So a debate around this issue has been going around since the year 2003. Now, merely because the bill did not go in Rajdeep Sardesai’s way, how can he go about lying to his audience that the bill didn’t have any debates? Merely because Rajdeep was lazy enough to not read or follow the happenings on this bill during the previous Lok Sabha doesn’t mean he goes about lying to his audience that bill wasn’t discussed? What other agendas was Rajdeep busy peddling at that time that he didn’t have time to go over the bill?

We are further told that Rajdeep opinionated that “Candidates are mattering less and less, and we are slowly becoming elected autocracy wherein the individual matters much more than any institution.” This argument is baffling beyond expectations. Any party will go to elections with a leader. Which party in the world goes to an election leaderless? The individual heading the institution guides the institution in a manner that he/she thinks befits it. If he/she does a shoddy job of the same, the people will give their verdict in various elections. Why does such simple logic escape these folks? “Elected autocracy” might sound very fanciful for the likes of Rajdeep Sardesai but this is a direct insult to the representative democracy of India.

We are further told that Rajdeep thinks it is “hazardous to predict future in India”. This is a baffling statement, especially given how Rajdeep predicted a hazardous future for India in his latest hate-filled article in India Today magazine. In today’s digital age of information, how does Rajdeep imagine that he can simply get away with such double-faced unprecedented hypocrisy?

Placards calling Batla House encounter ‘fake’ spotted at JNU protests against Shashi Tharoor’s ‘Islamophobia’

Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor faced intense protests as he embarked on his crusade against the Citizenship Amendment Act on Sunday. The protests were directed against him for his earlier remark condemning the visible Islamic extremism in the anti-CAA protests. He visited the Jamia Milia Islamia University and the JNU and was greeted by protesters chanting ‘La ilaha ilallah’.

Even in the protests against Shashi Tharoor, it became obvious that the anti-CAA charade was merely a mask to hide the ugly motives of the protesters underneath. There were protesters against Tharoor raising placards that said the Batla House encounter was fake. The men killed in the encounter were Indian Mujahideen terrorists, Atif Ameen and Mohammad Sajid. Mohammad Saif was arrested and Shahzad and Junaid managed to escape.

Source: ABP News/YouTube

One wonders what the encounter had anything to do with the CAA or the NRC for that matter. The placard can also be spotted in a report by Saahil Menghani, anchor and senior correspondent at CNN-News18.

The placard calling the Batla House encounter fake needs to be seen in the context of everything that we have witnessed so far in these protests surrounding the CAA and NRC. Slogans of ‘Jinnah waali Azadi‘ were raised at Shaheen Bagh, slogans of ‘Hinduon se Azadi‘ were heard at Jamia and ‘Free Kashmir’ banners have been spotted at numerous places.

It is also pertinent to remember that Ladeeda Sakhaloon, the face of the Jamia protests, gave a call for Jihad and her friend Aysha Renna called India ‘fascist’ for executing the terrorist Yakub Memon. Ladeeda also glorified the architects of the Moplah massacre which resulted in the death of hundreds and thousands of Hindus. The placard that calls the Batla House encounter fake appears consistent with everything that we have seen in these protests until now.

Dhoti for men and Sarees for women not compulsory for Sparsh-Darshan of Jyotirlinga at Kashi Vishwanath Temple, only discussion happened, clarify authorities

0

It was reported earlier that the Kashi Vishwanath Temple of Varanasi has announced a new dress code for devotees who seek to enter the sanctum of the shrine. The dress code mandates that men will have to wear the traditional Dhoti-Kurta and women must be in sarees in order to have a ‘Sparsh-darshan’ of the Deity.

The Sparsh-darshan, or touching the Shivalinga by the devotees, will be allowed from the morning Mangala Aarti till the noon Aarti.

However, the Commissioner of Varanasi, Deepak Agarwal clarified that this was only a discussion that took place and no formal proposal is with the state for the implementation of dress code.

He said that the implementation of a dress code for the ‘Sparsh-darshan’ of the Deity was only a suggestion by the Parishad which was discussed. However, there was no formal decision or formal proposal for the implementation of the same.

Jamia students block Republic from reporting, try to delete footage as they gherao VC’s office demanding FIR against Delhi Police

Jamia students and goons present there protesting block Republic TV channel from reporting and even attempted to delete the footage.

Taking a cue from the JNU students who have pinned the entire blame of the unfortunate proceedings of January 5, 2020, on the University Vice-Chancellor, the Jamia Millia Islamia university students too have co-opted the JNU template and staged a protest outside the University Vice-Chancellor’s office to demand action against Delhi Police for entering into the campus on December 15, 2019 and subduing the raging anti-CAA riots.

The students who have gheraoed the vice-chancellor’s office have demanded immediate action against the police who entered the University and allegedly beat up the innocent students. They have also demanded FIR against all the police personnel who entered the university and those responsible for allegedly firing bullets inside the campus. The protesting students have also accused the vice chancellor of not having a transparent dialogue with the students.

In addition, the protestors have also demanded compensation for those who sustained injuries due to the police action. The third demand of the students who have gathered outside the vice-chancellor’s office is the postponement of their exams.

One of the protesting students who have gheraoed the vice-chancellor’s office said, “We have some questions for which the Vice Chancellor needs to answer. Why has there been no FIR filed against Delhi Police for barging into University without permission? Why are the students still not provided with requisite security? Why is the vice-chancellor shying away from interacting with the students over the issue? Why is she deploying goons to tackle the protests?”

Students are also demanding the VC resigns to ‘save Jamia’.

On December 15, 2019, during the anti-CAA protests, residents of Jamia Nagar attacked the police with stones, bottles, tube lights though they were there for the safety and security of the students. The protests in Jamia Nagar took an ugly turn as large number of protestors blatantly violent as buses were torched and vandalised by Muslim mobs in the National Capital. Sensing plummeting situation, the Delhi Police entered the Jamia Millia University on December 15, 2019 and flushed out the violent protestors.

Why the ‘multi-faith prayer’ feels like an act to fool Hindus

The CAA gives fast track Indian citizenship to members of persecuted religious communities from three neighboring countries who have had to flee to India. To qualify for this benefit, you must belong to one of six religious communities: Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Jains, Buddhists and Parsis.

Just like the National Commission for Minorities and the Ministry of Minority Affairs will give benefits only to members of six minority communities : Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Parsis, Buddhists and Jains.

Now, what kind of person would be against this?

For over a month now, the anti-CAA crowd have struggled to put up a ‘secular’ face on their blatantly communal and anti-Hindu demand. But they get exposed every day in some or the other part of India.

Sometimes it is their people who end up reciting a poem that calls for breaking of idols and yearns for a day when “Only the name of Allah shall remain.” Sometimes it is removing the Ashok Chakra from the Indian flag and replacing it with Islamic words. Sometimes it is “Free Kashmir” posters. Then, there are the chants of “Hinduon se Azaadi” and “Jinnah wali Azaadi.”

Read: ‘Jinnah wali Azadi’ slogans raised at Shaheen Bagh: The true face of anti-CAA protests and what these slogans mean

And then there is of course the violence. Targeted and brutal. Burning trains. Attacking school buses. Cornering policemen, pelting stones on them, as if trying to lynch them. Let’s not forget the time anti-CAA rioters vandalized a Hanuman Temple in Patna.

All this has forced liberals to get creative with their excuses. Breaking idols? That’s just a metaphor. Free Kashmir posters? That’s just calling for lifting the internet ban. Chants of Azaadi? They just want “Azaadi” from poverty and unemployment. Okay what about “Jinnah wali Azaadi” then? Never mind…

It is like all our languages have run out metaphors and clever turns of phrase. So liberals need to borrow slogans from terrorists, add one or two qualifying words (optional) and chant the same.

Read: In a bid to demonise Hinduism, Shashi Tharoor compares Hindutva to Islam and Christianity, get attacked by ‘liberal’ bullies

And so it is that liberals have fallen back on the oldest trick in the book, this time in Shaheen Bagh. Ah! The multi-faith prayer. So charming, done in the style of the 1970s Bollywood movies. Even Bollywood has gotten less cheesy since then, but liberals less so.

Multi religion prayer at Shaheen Bagh

Here is why it feels like a trick. And not just because they look desperate to disown those who removed the Ashok Chakra from the Indian flag.

The reason is deeper. Consider this.

X says: I praise my god. All religions lead to god.

Y says: I praise my god and every other god is false.

That’s not a multi-faith anything. That looks more like a trick being played to give X a false sense of security.

We have arrived at contradiction which lies at the core of Indian secularism. What happens when the fundamental tenets of two religions cannot be reconciled in any way?

Read: The Battle from CAA to JNU: Khilafat 2.0, Communist Fantasies, Petty Politics and the conspiracy of Hong Kong style protests

This is not to say that we shouldn’t have a secular state. This just means that everyone should be well informed about the intellectual position of others.

It’s okay if Y wants to believe that every other god/religion is false. It’s also okay if X wants to believe that every religion leads to god. But X should not be under the false impression that Y also believes that all religions lead to god.

Otherwise, X is just setting her/himself up for failure in the long run.

Read: The left is laying the foundation of a Hindu Rashtra through its utter hatred for the right

And so called multi-faith prayers do exactly that. Give a wrong impression about what what people believe.

A truly secular gathering would have no place for such theatrics. It would consist of an open exchange of views in a mutually respectful atmosphere. People would be well-informed about the views of each other. And there would be no attempt to show agreement when there is none.

JNU violence: Delhi Police to question 9 suspects, including JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh at the University

0

The Crime Branch of Delhi Police is shortly going to interrogate the nine suspects including JNUSU President Aishe Ghosh in connection with the violence that took place in the Jawaharlal Nehru University campus on Sunday evening of January 5, 2020. The police had yesterday served a notice to the 9 accused asking them to join them in the investigation of the JNU attack.

The police have prepared a list of questions to be asked of the accused. The Delhi Police on Friday had released photographs of the 9 masked assailants who unleashed violence in JNU on January 5. The Special Investigation Team of Crime Branch of Delhi, which is going to preside over the interrogation, had earlier alleged that JNUSU President Aishe Ghosh has not been forthcoming with them while she had been vocal to speak through media and other means. The team seeks to collect information about the entire incident through this inquisition. 7 out of the 9 suspects are from Left organisations.

Addressing a press conference, the Delhi Police had identified masked men who had vandalised property and beaten up students on the JNU campus on January 5. Former JNU student Chunchun Kumar, Pankaj Mishra, Sucheta Talukdar, Priya Ranjan, Bikash Patel, Dolan Sawan, Yogendra Bhardwaj and Aishe Ghosh have been identified as the accused in the JNU violence.

The Delhi police said that on January 3, Students’ Federation of India, All India Students’ Federation (AISF), All India Students’ Association (AISA) and Democratic Students’ Federation (DFI) destroyed the server and due to this registrations were halted.

In addition, Delhi Police has told the High Court that they had sought CCTV footage of January 5 violence but so far they have not received any response from the University. The Police had also written to Whatsapp seeking details of 2 groups but are still awaiting a response.

The High Court has issued a notice to Apple, Whatsapp and Google to preserve CCTV footage, Whatsapp conversations and other evidence related to January 5 violence at the university campus.

Besides, the SIT has also called for questioning Akshat Awasthi and Rohit Shah. The police have also identified the masked women who were seen in the videos of JNU violence. The SIT has identified that the masked woman who was seen in the videos of the JNU violence is from Delhi University. She will be soon served the notice to join the investigation,” Delhi Police said.

On January 5, 2020, masked assailants bearing allegiance to the left barged into the JNU campus and attacked the students who were filling the registration forms for the winter semester.

India Today journalist who was caught whispering in JNUSU VP’s ears had heckled Republic reports along with Aishe Ghosh in November

Yesterday, OpIndia accessed a video of an India Today journalist interviewing one of the students at JNU where she appears to be ‘coaching’ the person. The student himself is member of a leftist political dispensation in the university. In the video, the journalist, quite clearly, appears to be having extensive discussions regarding what the events that transpired at the University and at one point, has a prolonged hush-hush discussion with the JNUSU VP that’s not audible to the ears. The journalist in question here was Tanushree Pandey.

As it turns out, the same journalist of India Today who was seen colluding with JNUSU and the Left, was also the one who had along with the JNUSU students, heckled Republic TV reporters on November 19t 2019.

Read: Watch: India Today journalist and JNUSU VP talking in a hushed, off the record conversation. Does this point to collusion?

The protests by JNU students against hostel fee hike had escalated on the 18th of November as thousands of protesting students had marched towards the Parliament. The police had stopped the student march and detained several students. The protest had disrupted normalcy in Delhi. During the protests, an ambulance was stuck in the traffic jam in the Jor Bagh area. Further, due to the protests, the entry and exit points of multiple Delhi Metro stations near Parliament were shut down temporarily. The Delhi Metro had closed entry and exit gates at the Udyog Bhawan, Patel Chowk, Lok Kalyan and Central Secretariat stations. In fact, Section 144 was also imposed in the JNU campus on 18th.

On 18th itself, a press conference was called by JNUSU in the JNU campus right behind the Swami Vivekananda statue that was vandalised. During the press conference, three-woman journalists from Republic TV were abused, heckled, manhandled and asked to leave. They stood their ground and maintained that they had a right to report.

Heckling these journalists were JNUSU students including JNUSU President Aishe Ghosh who is now a suspect in the 5th January 2020 violence that broke out in JNU. Aishe Ghosh has been caught on camera trying to heckle the Republic TV reporters. In fact, while Aishe was heckling these reporters, their mics were also turned off so they cannot ask any questions to JNUSU.

According to the Republic TV journalists’ own account, as was telecast on Republic TV, the question that they had asked JNUSU was whether blocking an Ambulance is the right form of protest. To this, the answer was mindless hackling and abuse.

Read: JNU violence: Ex-The Hindu journalist Abhimanyu Singh heckles, assaults Republic TV journalist Piyush Mishra in police presence

What is interesting to note is that along with JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh and other JNUSU students, a journalist was also heckling the Republic TV reporters for asking pointed questions to the students during a press conference. The journalist doing the heckling was Tanushree Pandey, the very journalist from India Today who has now been caught coaching the JNUSU VP what to say on camera. She had also regurgitated the very incorrect explanation of mail servers as the JNUSU student had coached her.

Tanushree had herself taken to Twitter on the 20th of November to admit that she was “fighting with media colleagues” of Republic.

In the video quoted by Tanushree Pandey, along with her, one can see the JNUSU President Aishe Ghosh as well.

Aishe Ghosh seen heckling Republic and Sudarshan TV reporters

Along with Aishe Ghosh, one can also see India Today journalist Tanushree Pandey.

Aishe Ghosh along with India Today journalist Tanushree Pandey

Tanushree Pandey was hailed abundantly by JNUSU 2016 Presidency Candidate Sunny Dhiman Wakker for the “stand she took” in “showing Godi Media its place”. “Godi Media” is a pejorative term used by Leftists to denigrate the media houses that don’t heckle other journalists for them, perhaps.

Unsurprisingly, as the media is one giant incestuous club, other journalists too hailed Tanushree for heckling Republic TV reporters along with JNUSU president and other students.

To a tweet by Nidhi Razdan, NDTV journalist, Tanushree Pandey said that she could “take this stand” because Rajdeep Sardesai, Aroon Purie and IndiaToday as a whole were “standing rock solid” behind her.

She also thanked a fellow heckler journalist who outed that Tanushree was one of the first to heckle the Republic TV reporters.

And then there were other so-called journalists who thought heckling other journalists was brave while reporting a side that does not conform to Leftists was ‘bringing disrepute to the profession’.

It was on this day, that a student from JNU had admitted on camera that wants to pick up guns and the first person he would shoot are media persons. This student had first perhaps not realised that he was talking to a Republic TV reporter and had said that he too can buy AK 47 and pick up laathis. When Republic TV reporter Rhythm had questioned him about his call to violence, he had first asked which channel she was from and then said that he will first hunt for media persons and shoot them.

Read: India Today ‘journalist’ fails to comprehend science and tech, spreads false propaganda on JNU servers

The fault of the Republic TV journalists was simply that they asked the “students” of JNUSU how they could intimidate and block an Ambulance during their protest. And they were physically heckled and abused not just by JNUSU, but joined by India Today reporter Tanushree.

India Today has recently conducted a sting where they tried their best to implicate ABVP in the 5th January 2020 JNU violence. However, their assertions were thoroughly debunked. To top it all, OpIndia accessed a video where India Today journalist Tanushree Pandey can clearly be seen colluding with JNUSU.

With these facts and that the same journalist Tanushree Pandey of India Today had heckled reporters of Republic, along with JNUSU President Aishe Ghosh only further dents the credibility of India Today and that of this reporter.

Read: Old images of Awasthi do not discredit the January 2020 visuals where he can be seen siding with Leftists

It is rather evident that India Today journalists share a close ‘relationship’ with JNUSU and perhaps, could have vested interests in publishing botched up sting operations in an attempt to shield the Leftists. Further, the conduct of the India Today journalist who joined JNUSU President Aishe Ghosh in heckling reporters who were merely asking questions that were not toeing the line of the Leftists points to a deeper malaise within India Today. Evidently, India Today’s credibility is bound to take a further hit with such open collusion with the Left coming to the fore.
