In a significant sign of de-escalation between India and China, the Indian and Chinese troops have decided to disengage at multiple points in Eastern Ladakh after over a month of border tensions between the two countries.
According to the reports, the People’s Liberation Army has moved back its troops and infantry combat vehicles by 2.5 km by in Galwan area, Patrolling Point 15 and Hot Springs area. In reciprocation, India has also moved some of its troops back.

Reportedly, the talks between the two countries are being held this week at multiple locations including Patroling point 14 (Galwan area), Patrolling point 15, and Hot Springs area. The top sources within the government said that because of the Lt Gen-level talks held on June 6, the Chinese Army has pulled back its troops from the Galwan valley, PP-15 and Hot Springs in Eastern Ladakh area by 2 to 2.5 kilometres.
De-escalation begins after militrary-diplomatic level talks
It was also stated that Indian and Chinese officials will continue to remain engaged through the established military and diplomatic channels to address the current situation in the India-China border areas. Currently, talks are being held on these points at the battalion commander level and they have had hotline talks with their counterparts.
In the first major discussion between the two troops, Lt General Harinder Singh, the general officer commanding of Leh-based 14 Corps, and Commander of the Tibet Military District Major General Liu Lin had held a meeting on Saturday. The members of the Indian military team had visited earlier today Chushul to prepare for talks with China which are likely to be held in the next few days.
On Monday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had stated, “Talks with China are on a military and diplomatic level. The June 6 talks were very positive and both the countries have agreed to continue talks to resolve the ongoing tussle”. He had also assured, “leadership of the country is in strong hands and we will not compromise on India’s pride and self-respect.”
Standoff at LAC
India and China had engaged in a military standoff in the Galwan Valley region of Ladakh, near the Line of Actual Control between India and China. It is notable here that vast areas of Ladakh region have been under Chinese control for decades.
In the Galwan flashpoint, it was initially reported that China had started moving heavy equipment and troops in the LAC, and had increased patrols in the area creating skirmishes between Indian and Chinese troops.
About 5000 Chinese army personnel, under the garb of a military exercise, diverted their movement towards the Indian side of the LAC (Line of Actual Control). The current stand-off began on May 5-6 and has been continuing all along the LAC up to Sikkim.
The Indian Army had matched the level of their counterparts and had stopped them from conducting movements in several areas. As per reports, Indian forces had also been airlifted from other high altitude areas to the Eastern Ladakh sector.
Ishwar Pokhrel, the Deputy PM and Defence Minister of Nepal has stated that the Himalayan nation seeks to resolve ‘border issues’ with India through dialogue and there is no sense in deploying the Army.

According to reports, Nepal had reportedly sought foreign secretary-level talks with India via video conferencing to discuss the ongoing tensions between the two countries. However, it was reported that India may not participate in the talks as Nepal is adamant on continuing with passing the second Constitution Amendment Bill to give legal backing to the new maps, which had claimed parts of the Indian territory.
Nepal’s sudden ‘border issues’
The tensions between the two countries are on a rise after New Delhi inaugurated a road linking Kailash Mansarovar via Lipulekh on May 8. Nepal had raised objections to India over the construction of the new road.
On May 20, the Nepalese government headed by KP Oli had released a new map of the country, in which it had included Indian territories of Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh and Kalapani as parts of Nepal. KP Oli, who is heading the Nepal Communist Party-led government in the country, had made irrational claims against India by asserting that Nepal would “bring back at any cost” the Indian territories of Kalapani-Limpiyadhura-Lipulekh area.
Oli’s government trying to get parliament’s nod
Perhaps acting at the behest of China, the Nepal government had brought a constitution amendment bill at the Parliament on May 22, seeking to amend Schedule 3 of the constitution to update Nepal’s political map in the national emblem.
However, as the constitutional amendment required a two-thirds majority, the Nepal government had fallen short of numbers in the lower House compelling it to seek support from other parties. The main opposition Nepali Congress party had sought time for discussion on the issue and on May 27 the KP Sharma Oli government deferred its plan to move the constitutional amendment.
In the latest development, it is being reported that Nepal has fast-tracked the process of bringing the constitution amendment as KP Sharma Oli’s government has secured the support of opposition Nepali Congress and is likely to pass the amendment with the required two-third majority on June 9.
Pokhrel’s earlier remarks
Nepalese Defense Minister Pokhrel had earlier reacted strongly to Indian COAS General Naravane’s statements. He had claimed that the Nepali army is ready to face any challenges. He had also accused India of ignoring Nepal’s claims over the border issue. He had also attempted to incite the Gorkhas fighting in the Indian army by claiming that the Indian COAS’ statements might hurt the Gorkhas.
Members of the BJP’s youth wing Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha staged protests in Jammu on Tuesday against the assassination of the Kashmiri Pandit Sarpanch Ajay Pandita who was shot dead by terrorists of The Resistance Front (TRF) in the South Kashmir’s Anantnag. Angry members of the political wing also burnt the effigy of the Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Ajay Pandita was cremated in Jammu on Tuesday. At the same, angered by this political killing the youth wing members staged protests in Jammu. As per reports, state President BJYM Arun Dev Singh said that Pakistani terrorists killed an elected Sarpanch out of frustration. “We have staged this protest against Imran Khan and terrorists,” he said. He also requested another surgical strike to flush out the terrorists in the Pakistan-sponsored terror camps.
Arun Dev Singh said that as long as the tricolor is waving in the valley each and every nationalist is standing with the family. In these protests, the protestors also demanded the Prime Minister Narendra Modi carry out a surgical strike against these terror groups operating in Kashmir valley.
Sarpanch was shot dead on Monday
The Kashmiri Pandit Sarpanch Ajay Pandita was shot dead by the unidentified terrorists in the Anantnag district of South Kashmir. As per reports, he had been to work in his orchard when he was attacked by the terrorists. The area was cordoned off soon after the shooting.
Notably, the incident happened hours after the security forces eliminated 4 terrorists in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. A cache of arms and ammunition had been retrieved from the slain terrorists.
Pakistan backed terror group claimed responsibility for the killing
Pakistan-sponsored terrorist group ‘The Resistance Front’ (TRF) has taken responsibility for the assassination of Kashmiri Pandit Sarpanch Ajay Pandita in South Kashmir. Ajay Pandita was an elected Sarpanch of Lokbowan Larkipora in Anantnag.
TRF is another proxy name being used for Lashkar-e-Taiba. As per reports, the new group, a new propaganda machine for Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in Kashmir, has been active for the last few months. Though it claims to be ‘secular’, many experts have stated that the group is just one of the proxy names being used by Hafiz Saeed’s Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
The terrorist group issued a statement in which it warned that no ‘political stooge’ who stands with the ‘occupational regime’ will be spared. The Statement of the terror group said, “No political stooge/collaborator who stands alongside the occupational regime will be spared. Ajay Pandita Sarpanch was one of these political leeches who tarnish the image of Jammu and Kashmir. These are the main reason for our occupational regimes to stay on our land the JK.”
In a blood-curdling incident, an 8-year-old girl was brutally raped by 6 people when the victim had gone to her neighbourhood to ask for food. The police have arrested all the six accused, two of whom are minors. Speaking to OpIndia, police official from Kanyakumari SP office ruled out gang rape and said that the child was molested by the men. A case has also been registered under POCSO.
There is discontent among people after the horrifying incident of gang-rape in Nagercoil in Kanyakumari surfaced on social media. The accused include 75-year-old Mohammad Noah, 68-year-old Abdul Zafar, 53-year-old Zafar Hussain, and 52-year-old Zahdsan.
According to ‘Mathrubhumi‘ news, the mental condition of the minor girl’s mother is not well. The victim’s father has also his job which has also exacerbated the family’s financial situation.
The investigations into the matter revealed that the accused had been harassing the victim for some time now. They were hunting for an opportunity, which they got when she arrived to ask for food.
A few days back, the girl had reportedly complained to her father that some people were abusing her physically, causing her pain. On investigation, her father found that her daughter was indeed being abused for the last several days. A complaint has been filed in this case with the District SP and the Kulachal Women Police and the minor victim has been kept in Tirunelveli Child Improvement Home. The incident came on the heels of another case in Kerala where a 5-year-old girl was gang-raped.

According to Swarajya report, the victim Hindu woman in her complaint has stated that the accused Waseem Ahmed had told her that he wanted to teach you (Hindus) people a lesson.

According to the police, Waseem had shot videos of the sexual act with the victim and had shared the videos on the internet. The phone has been confiscated and is under investigation. The FIR said that after the woman got physically intimate with Waseem who was pretending to be Dinesh Ravat, she asked him to marry her. However, he then revealed that he is actually a Muslim and is married with two children. According to the FIR he did this to ‘teach you people’ a lesson and hence he betrayed her trust. When she objected, he threatened to beat her up and threatened to kill her family members.
Waseem Ahmed changes his identity to Hindu to rape the victim
On Monday, the Meerut police had arrested Waseem Ahmed, a resident of Ajrara village that falls under Mundali Police Station in Meerut, in connection with a love-jihad case after the accused had lured a Hindu woman from Hapur in his love trap by concealing his identity and claiming to be Hindu, while then raping her for two years.
According to a complaint by the victim, the accused Waseem Ahmed and she became friends on Facebook. The accused had said his name to be Dinesh Ravat. One day, Waseem called her to his home and made physical relations with her. As the woman later asked him to marry her, he revealed his real name and said that he was a married man with two children.
“He said I cheated you because I wanted to teach you people me a lesson,” the woman reportedly said in her complaint. The FIR was filed on 6 June at Mundali Police Station on the statement of the woman.
The accused used fake identity cards, Facebook accounts
Meanwhile, the police have recovered “fake” Aadhaar card made in the name of ‘Dinesh Kumar Ravat’. The accused was operating a Facebook account in the name of ‘Dinesh Ravat’. The police had also found out that by faking his identity as ‘Dinesh Ravat’, the accused had worked in a local hospital as a nursing staff for about a year.

The accused had also obtained a driving licence and voter cards are in the name of Wasim Ahmed, however, with different spellings. Further, the Meerut police has also found that the accused, in his Facebook account, had described himself as a reporter for Hindi daily Punjab Kesari.

When the police looked into the account, it was revealed that the accused was sharing press cuttings daily, some of them saying ‘Waseem Ahmed’ in the byline. However, the font of the byline looked different from the content of the reports. During the interrogation, the accused Waseem could not produce any identity card for the newspaper when asked.

The police had earlier booked Waseem under IPC sections 376 (rape), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation). As the investigation by the Uttar Pradesh had revealed that the accused had impersonated other place to cheat the women, the police have filed another case against Waseem under IPC sections 419 (cheating by personation) and 420 (cheating), and Section 66 of the Information Technology Act (computer-related offences such as fraud).
A lot has been said in recent weeks regarding the death of migrant workers in Shramik Trains run by the government to transport migrants to their native states in the wake of the Coronavirus crisis. Numerous media reports have claimed that the cause of it was hunger and starvation. When the Government said it in Court that the cause wasn’t hunger, media reports then attempted to give its readers the impression that the government was misleading the citizenry about the actual situation.
It all began when Hindustan Times published a report on the 30th of May where it was claimed that 80 migrants have died between the 9th and 27th of May. It quoted the Railway Ministry as saying, “Indian Railways has been running Shramik special Trains on a daily basis throughout the country to ensure that migrants can travel back to their homes. It has been observed that some people who are availing this service have pre-existing medical conditions which aggravates the risk they face during the Covid-19 pandemic. A few unfortunate cases of deaths related to pre-existing medical conditions while travelling have happened.”
Source: Hindustan Times
Scroll published a report based on the report by Hindustanh Times but gave their own twist to the tale. They claimed, “Nearly 80 migrant workers died of starvation or heat sickness between May 9 and May 27 while travelling on special trains to their home villages amid the lockdown to contain the coronavirus, according to the data from the Railway Protection Force reviewed by Hindustan Times.”
But the Hindustan Times report said no such thing. In fact, the report quotes several officials confirming that there were various ailments the deceased suffered from and that it would be inaccurate to claim that the primary cause of death was hunger.
The Central Government told the Supreme Court on the 5th of June that the death was not due to hunger of lack of food. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told the court that “an enquiry found that no deaths were caused by lack of food, water or medication… The people who died had some earlier illnesses. Railways has the details. People who showed signs of illness were shifted to the nearest hospitals”.
OpIndia has now accessed th post mortem reports of the migrants who died in these trains. Thirty such post mortem reports, which have been accessed by OpIndia, show that the migrants have not died due to starvation or hunger. The reports say that they died due to natural reasons, which was often a heart attack.
One such passenger, who passed away on the 16th of May, was a resident of Surat who died due to acute cardio respiratory failure. His post mortem report said that while the primary cause of death had been established, the final cause of death will be ascertained only after the FSL chemical analysis and histopathology reports were available.
The post mortem report of Kanraj Munib Bind
Similarly, the post mortem report of Lal Babu Kamat said that he passed due to heart disease, pending further confirmation from the histopathological report. The post mortem was conducted at the JLN Medical College in Bhagalpur, Bihar. He passed away on the 26th of May.
The post mortem report of Lal Babu Kamat
The post mortem report Babu Ram Chandel, a resident of Himachal Pradesh, showed that he had died due to Cardiact Arrest due to acute myocardial infarction, which is an ailment that is sufficient to cause death in ordinary course of nature. The post mortem was conducted at BK Hospital in Faridabad, Haryana.
Post Mortem report of Babu Ram Chandel
The post mortem reports of other deceased individuals also show that they died due to natural causes not related to hunger or starvation. OpIndia investigated 30 such Postmortem reports and found that none of them indicated towards the death being caused by starvation. Thus, it is quite incorrect to claim that the deaths of migrant workers on Shramik Trains were caused by hunger or starvation. But it is certainly not surprising that media reports claimed otherwise even without any evidence.
On Tuesday, BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia and his mother Madhavi Raje Scindia have reportedly been diagnosed with the Wuhan Coronavirus. They are now being treated at the Max Hospital in Saket in South Delhi. Jyotiraditya had developed symptoms of the Chinese virus and was hospitalised 4 days ago.
However, as per a report by ABP, the health condition of the mother-son duo is stable now. Sources close to the family have revealed that both Jyotiraditya Scindia and his mother Madhavi Raje Scindia had developed a fever and sore throat, post which they were admitted to the private hospital. After tests, they have been found to be COVID-19 positive.
Reports state that contact tracing is on for the Scindia family. Scindia is BJP’s Rajya Sabha candidate from Madhya Pradesh where the elections are to be held on June 19.
Coronavirus scare among political circles
Earlier, Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) National spokesperson Sambit Patra was admitted to Medanta hospital in Gurgaon after displaying Coronavirus like symptoms. He, however, tested negative and was eventually discharged. Recently, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had developed a sore throat and fever and underwent a test for Coronavirus on Tuesday. The Delhi Chief Minister has been experiencing the symptoms since Sunday, raising fears that he had contracted the virus. His test report is now awaited.
In a press release on June 1, former Justice Pawan Kumar, who headed the investigation team to probe the atrocities inflicted against Hindus, especially Dalits, in Haryana’s Mewat had said that there is no difference between Pakistan and Mewat.
The Press Release
While addressing journalists in Gurugram, Justice Pawan Kumar remarked that Mewat of Haryana is becoming a graveyard of Dalits and there are many reports of women being abducted, raped and forcibly converted in the region.
OpIndia got in touch with Justice Pawan Kumar who had gone to Mewat himself to investigate the case and bring the reality of the atrocities committed against the Dalits to the fore. Justice Pawan Kumar said that while speaking to the Hindus, especially Dalits, in the villages, he was able to get back first-hand information on how badly they are oppressed in the hands of Muslims in these areas. Incidents of rape of Hindu and Dalit girls, the kidnapping of brides, forced conversion, assault on Dalits have become common in the villages in Mewat, said Kumar.
Justice Pawan Kumar claimed that he had called 48 victims of the Dalit society for questioning, but the horror and fear of Islamists among the victims is so palpable that only 19 out of the 48 victims of the Dalit society turned up to register their complaints against the brutalities meted out on them.
To apprise us of the extent of atrocities being inflicted on these poor Hindu and Dalit families in remote villages of Mewat, Haryana, Kumar briefed us with few shocking incidents which he was given an account of. These incidents had also found mention in the press release shared by VHP National spokesperson Vinod Bansal on June 1.
Molestation of women pervasive all over Mewat
He revealed that the molestation of girls and women has become pervasive all over Mewat which has caused problems for girls to continue their studies. “A 12-year girl was raped by 4 Muslims and the house where the rape took place was of one of the Muslim cops,” Kumar said. No action has been taken against the perpetrators.
Furthermore, Kumar also cited an instance from Freozpur Namak where 9 Muslims allegedly raped a woman for several days after forcibly abducting her. The press release stated that no action was taken against the complaint filed and the abductors killed the woman four days later.
Forced conversions prevalent in the region
Besides speaking on various instances where Hindu, especially Dalit girls and women have been exploited, Kumar also spoke to us about how forced conversions is prevalent in the area. While in conversation with OpIndia Justice Pawan Kumar spoke on how more than 200 cases of forced conversions have allegedly taken place in the region.
Speaking of various incidents of forced conversion, Kumar said that because of police inaction, the perpetrators have been emboldened and pressure is being mounted on the family members of those forcibly converted to get them converted as well.
The chairman of the committee, former justice Pawan Kumar spoke of an incident where a man named Ramjilal in Mewat’s Bichhor village was stabbed on the stomach and later burnt alive. He said when Ramjilal’s family approached the police, they did not take any action against the accused, instead, police closed the case saying that Ramjilal died after being struck by lightning. The family was so scared that they were forced to leave the village, said Kumar.
During the conversation with the former Justice, we learnt how the cremation grounds were also being encroached upon by the Muslims in the region. Also, the plots provided to them by the government are gradually being snatched away by Muslims. Moreover, Dalits are being abducted and assaulted by Muslims. Attacks on Dalits asking for the refund of the burrowed sum to the Muslims have become a common occurrence in these regions, said Kumar.
Muslims in Mewat carrying out these crimes in connivance with the administration and the local police
Former Justice Pawan Kumar specified in clear terms that the Muslims in the region were being able to carry out these crimes against Dalits in connivance with the administration and the local police. As a result of this, the horror and fear of Islamists among the victims has become so palpable, that Hindus have completely disappeared from at least 104 villages in the region. A meager number of only 4 to 5 Hindu families can still be found dwelling in 84 villages out of the total of 500 villages in the region. Mewat in Haryana has become a mini-Pakistan, revealed Kumar.
Chairman of the committee, former justice Pawan Kumar said that the report will be sent to the chief minister of Haryana, to the chairman of scheduled castes commission of India and the Home Minister of India so that justice is delivered and rule of law can once again be established in Mewat.
OpIndia tried to contact Mewat police
When OpIndia tried to contact Mewat police and confront them on the allegations meted out against the police, the Superintendent of Police (SP) Mewat cited a step-by-step process of action in these cases. He said, “Whenever a case of Dalit harassment comes to the police, a complaint is filed and action is taken in the matter as per the rules. He said the victim can first approach SHO, in case he is unavailable then he will be directed towards the DSP then the SP.
Before OpIndia could ask further questions to the SP the call got disconnected. Later, when we again tried to contact the SP we could not get through him.
We then spoke to the president of the Joint Hindu Sangharsh Samiti, Mahavir Bhardwaj who too said that the Dalits in Mewat are falling prey to the atrocities by Muslims, who dominate these villages. Fearing brutality, many Hindu families have fled but the Dalits are mostly poor and not capable of going and easily settling elsewhere, therefore they are the ones who are suffering in the hands of the Muslim population in villages of Mewat.
Speaking of the harrowing conditions under which Dalits are having to live in Mewat, Bhardwaj said that minorities in Pakistan must not be facing as many hardships these Dalits and Hindus are facing here in mini-Pakistan (Mewat).
Mob in Haryana’s Mewat attacks Mahant Ramdas of Muktidham Ashram
Recently, Mahant Ramdas of Muktidham Ashram in Haryana’s Mewat was attacked where a mob misbehaved, beat him up and also threatened to kill him. Speaking to OpIndia the Hindu organisations which have come out in support of the Mahant said that on April 29, 2020, that the culprits made derogatory remarks on religious lines against Mahant Ramdas Maharaj and then threatened to drive away the Sadhus in the area by force.
When Mahant Ramdas went to the police to file an FIR, the police refused. When OpIndia reached out to the police, Punhana Thana SHO directed us to talk to the headquarters regarding the case. He also claimed that no such incident has taken place. The Hindu organisations had then said that the police are trying to avoid filing an FIR and getting Mahant Ramdas and the accused to talk over it and sort it out.
Third attack on Hindus in a week
Speaking to OpIndia, the local people there had then said that this is a Muslim dominated area and this was the third attack on the Hindus in past one week. Police have also not taken any action against the culprits. A few days back, a mob of 200-300 people gathered and misbehaved with a Hindu resident over his social media post, they said.
On Monday evening, a seven-months pregnant woman named Mansi Sharma (aka Alia) was reportedly shot by the first wife of her husband, Zafar, in Vidya Nagar Colony in the Civil Line area of Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh. After killing the victim, the accused, clad in burkha, walked around the body with a 9mm pistol in her hand. On being informed, the police reached the spot and arrested the accused. A video of the incident taken by a bystander has now gone viral on social media.
Both Alia and Shabana were married to a transport businessman named Zafar. While Shabana lived with her husband, Alia lived in a rented house in the same neighbourhood. Alia had married Zafar one and a half years ago and was seven months pregnant at the time of the incident. She was a Hindu prior to her marriage and was known by the name of Mansi Sharma.
As per reports, Shabana had 5 children with Zafar. Alia had married someone else before but had seperated from her husband. A state of fear and panic has gripped the people in the locality. A case of murder has been registered and the investigation in the matter is underway.
Shabana’s first target was Alia’s niece
As per reports, Shabana was planning to seek revenge since the time Zafar married Alia. She would engage in a verbal confrontation with her on an everyday basis. On the fateful day of June 8, Alia was returning home after buying medicines with her niece Muskan at around 7 pm in the evening. They were stopped on the road by Shabana who then open fired at Muskan. After the bullet missed the target, Alia stepped in to protect Muskan. Shabana then fired four bullets at Mansi alias Alia.
Shabana watched Youtube videos to commit the crime
The victim instantly fell on the ground. An unconcerned Shabana kept on talking to Alia while her body remained soaked in blood. She casually strolled around Alia’s body, waving her gun occasionally, while the victim succumbed to her injuries. According to police officials, the gun was provided to the accused by her husband Zafar who is absconding ever since the incident. She has confessed to her crime and said that she did not want the bullet to miss the target. Reportedly, Shabana learnt to use the gun by watching Youtube videos.
In a major breakthrough, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested one Khalid Saifi, allegedly one of the key conspirators of the violence that took place in the Chand Bagh area during the Delhi anti-Hindu riots in February this year.
Big blow to ‘Tukde Tukde’ gang, Umar Khalid’s aide linked to riots now. The man behind Khalid-Tahir meet arrested.
Saifi is named as an accused in the third charge-sheet filed by Delhi Police in connection with the Delhi violence case. He is also said to have attended the January 8 meeting at Shaheen Bagh, where Muslims were holding an anti-CAA protest for almost a month.
Moreover, Khalid Saifi is known to be the person who had facilitated the meeting between JNU’s ‘Tukde Tukde’ gang activist Umar Khalid and IB officer Ankit Sharma’s murder accused, the AAP suspended councillor, Tahir Hussain.
As per the Times Now report, Saifi has been named as one of the ‘facilitators’ of the riots. The charge sheet also reportedly mentions that Saifi ran the ‘Shaheen Bagh control room’ to incite, organise and facilitate the Delhi anti-Hindu riots.
Seen with many AAP leaders, media persons
Saifi seems to be familiar with many AAP leaders and media persons. Images found in social media show him smiling and posing with Delhi CM Arvind, Kejriwal, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, journalists Ravish Kumar, Rajdeep Sardesai, Arfa Khanum, Abhisar Sharma and RJ Syema.
Images accessed by OpIndiaKhalid Saifi with Rajdeep, Ravish and Arfa Khanum, images via Ankur Singh and Amit Sindhi on Twitter Saifi’s image with Abhisar Sharma and Syema, images accessed by OpIndia
Khalid Saifi is the founder of United Against Hate
Khalid Saifi is the founder of United Against Hate, an organisation which led the anti-CAA protests in the country. It is pertinent to note here that HM Amit Shah had made a special mention of this organisation during the parliamentary debate on Delhi’s riots. Shah told the parliament, “United Against Hate – the name sounds so pious but look what they advocated. They said, ‘(Donald) Trump is about to come, we should block the streets’.”
Saifi was earlier arrested by the Delhi police from the anti-Citizenship (Amendment) Act protest site at Khureji Khas on February 26. Now he has been taken into custody by the Delhi police crime branch which has been probing the Delhi anti-Hindu riot case.
The details mentioned in the charge-sheet filed in the Jafrabad riot case and Chand Bagh riots case assert that the anti-Hindu riots that convulsed the national capital in February this year were a part of a deep-rooted, well-planned conspiracy to throw Delhi into a state of anarchy.
Tahir Hussain was in contact with Umar Khalid and Khalid Saifi
In the FIRs filed by Delhi police in Jafrabad riots case and Ankit Sharma murder case, the police had observed that the accused AAP leader Tahir Hussain, who had been involved with the violence in Khajuri Khas area, was in contact with Umar Khalid and Khalid Saifi, who were a part of a larger group of persons involved in inciting riots in Delhi.
The Delhi Riots
Massive riots had broken out in the national capital during Donald Trump’s visit to India in February. The riots cost huge losses to life and property. Over the course of the investigation, the role of Radical Islamist organization PFI and others came to the fore. Home Minister Amit had promised on the floor of the Parliament that a thorough investigation into the matter would be carried out and the guilty would be punished. OpIndia ground reports revealed how some Muslim women rained down acid from the terrace and how slingshots were used to hurl petrol bombs. Eyewitnesses also told OpIndia that the rioters were well-prepared, organised and how women and children were also armed to attack Hindus.
