Speaking to news agency ANI, Indian Air Force Chief RKS Bhadauria said on Monday that India plans to acquire 450 fighter aircraft for deployment on the northern and western frontiers of the country in the future.

The list of aircraft planned to be inducted by the Air Force includes:

  • 36 Rafales
  • 114 Multirole Fighter Aircraft
  • 100 Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) and
  • Over 200 variants of Light Combat Aircraft.

Adding that the induction of these fighters would take place over a period of the next 35 years as the inductions have to be planned to keep in mind future requirements, the IAF chief said, “In the next 15 years, 83 LCAs are our primary focus, after that LCA Mark 2 will come in we are looking at close to 100 of those, that makes it near 200 of LCA class,” Bhadauria said in an interview with the ANI.

“AMCA, we are looking at six squadrons, so that puts it close to 100 (aircraft). So, in the indigenous domain areas which are already frozen in terms of our requirement, in terms of our understanding with DRDO in the fighter (segment),” said RKS Bhadauria. The Indian Air Force Chief said: “In the trainer aircraft segment, we are looking at 70 HTT-40 as a support aircraft to the Pilatus fleet. So, we are looking at 370 odd indigenous aircraft.”

The IAF chief was of the view that currently, it was the best time from the point of view for indigenous production. He said, “It is now the perfect time for industries to respond and come up with solutions which are rapidly put in place and come up to the challenge of delivering these aircraft.” Speaking on plans to acquire 114 multirole fighter aircraft, the IAF chief said that this project would be dealt with in the Make in India region, “This project is in the middle-weight and is in the Rafale class, in this issue, we will deal with it in the Make in India region, with an increase in FDI, with support to the private sector.”

“4I think in future this will bring in technology which is required to support the aviation sector. I think it is important to have another generation of aircraft in terms of capability, technology as we go along,” said Air Force Chief RKS Bhadauria.

Indian Air Force inducted 8 lethal attack helicopters

On September 3 last year, the Indian Air Force had inducted eight lethal attack helicopters in the presence of Air Force chief BS Dhanoa at the Pathankot Air Force station.

Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria has succeeded Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa to become the 26th chief of the Indian Air Force. BS Dhanoa retired on September 30 2019, after 41 years of stellar service. He was the chief of the IAF during the Balakot airstrikes. The Apache choppers received a water cannon salute, before induction at the Pathankot Air Base. This will be its first fleet of attack choppers. By 2020, the IAF will operate a fleet of 22 Apaches.

Cyclone Amphan to evolve into a super cyclone; Bengal, Odisha on high-alert as landfall expected on May 20

The Indian Meteorological Department today warned that the extremely severe cyclonic storm Amphan has intensified into a super cyclone with wind speed above 200 kmph (kilometres per hour) on Monday afternoon. The cyclone is moving at breakneck speed towards the coasts of West Bengal and Bangladesh, where it is anticipated to make the landfall on May 20.

Amphan(pronounced as UM-PM) is likely to cross West Bengal-Bangladesh coasts between Digha (West Bengal) and Hatiya Islands (Bangladesh) on Wednesday as a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm. At the time of the landfall, Cyclone Amphan is expected to carry wind speed of 155-165 kmph, gusting to 185 kmph, the department said.

The states of West Bengal and Odisha are put on high alert as the coastal areas in these states are expected to be hit by the maelstrom that is rapidly moving towards the coast. Heavy rainfall is expected to hit coast Odisha on Monday evening and then hit West Bengal’s coast the following day. The state governments have already started the evacuation process to rescue people from vulnerable areas. Fishermen have been strictly advised by the administration to not venture into the seas till May 21.

The IMD has alerted that the super cyclone could wreak havoc in east Medinipur, south and north 24 Parganas, Howrah, Hooghly and Kolkata districts in West Bengal. A cyclone of such compared intensity had ravaged large swathes of Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal twenty-one years ago in 1999. It had taken several months for the state of Odisha to repair the extensive damages caused by the cyclone then.

The warning said that Odisha and West Bengal could face severe damage, including the uprooting of communication and power poles. It also added that the super cyclone could disrupt rail and road links in many areas in Bengal and Odisha and inflict large-scale damage to standing crops, plantations and orchards.

PM chaired a meeting to review response measures against Cyclone Amphan

As Cyclone Amphan intensified into a super cyclone, a high-level meeting to review the response measures adopted by the affected state governments was chaired by PM Modi. The Prime Minister took stock of response preparedness and the evacuation measures adopted by the NDRF.

While presenting the response plan, Director General of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF)apprised the Prime Minister that 25 NDRF teams have been deployed on the ground while 12 others are ready in reserve. Furthermore, he also informed that there are 24 other NDRF teams on standby in different parts of the country.

Many migrant trains not yet running due to lack of cooperation from states, railways rue, West Bengal has approved only 19 Shramik trains

Scenes of migrant workers travelling to their native places on foot has gravely troubled the nation. Photographs abound on the internet that capture the extent of the distress that migrants are facing. There have been numerous accidents where migrants have lost their lives. There have also been occasions when reporters have stopped migrants on their way and asked them to pose properly so that they could capture a good photograph. And all of this despite the fact that Shramik Trains are running to facilitate the transport of migrants.

At the same time, politicians such as Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party have been busy politicising the entire matter and the former Congress president who happens to be the son of the current one stopped migrants travelling on the streets and decided to have a chat with them so that he could attack the government later. Under such circumstances, people in the railway Ministry are upset because states have been blocking requests for Shramik Trains which, in turn, is causing migrants a great deal of distress.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during her press conference announcing the economic package had hinted towards the fact that states have not been asking for trains to help the migrants as they should have when she was asked about the migrant crisis. Attacking the Congress party, she had said, “Where they have their own state governments, let them ask for more trains, so that more migrants can be seated and sent home. Instead, when they (migrants) are walking home, they waste their time, sit beside them and chat with them. It would have been better if they had carried their luggage and children and walked beside them. I say this with great sadness. Why can’t they ask their state governments to ask for more trains?”

Sources within the Railway Ministry have told OpIndia that Shramik Trains require approvals from both, the state of origin as well as the destination states. For instance, a train from Punjab to Uttar Pradesh would require the approval of both the states. We were told that unfortunately, certain states are not giving their approval for trains carrying their own migrants. As a consequence, migrants have been forced to walk on roads or travel in unsafe vehicles such as trucks and violate all norms of social distancing.

Of all the states, only the Yogi Adityanath Government in Uttar Pradesh has given as many approvals as required, resulting in nearly 800 trains being arranged for the state. On the other hand, a state such as West Bengal that has a great number of its population working in other states has approved only 19 trains thus far. Odisha, meanwhile, has been forced to suspend trains to coastal areas due to Cyclone Amphan and no trains are currently running to Ganjam district as it has a significant population in Quarantine already.

Compared to Uttar Pradesh, other migrant heavy states have given approvals for very few Shramik Trains. Chhattisgarh has given approval for only 19 trains, Rajasthan for only 33 and Jharkhand for 72 Shramik Trains. West Bengal also delayed the permission for regular Shramik Trains. A noticeable pattern is that the opposition parties which have only been too eager to target the central government over the migrant crisis have not given approvals for Shramik Trains and thereby contributed to the crisis immensely themselves. If they had given permission for the trains, the crisis could have been solved a lot quicker.

No ambulance, no help from govt proved fatal for Mumbai cop Amol Kulkarni: Journalist alleges maltreatment of front-line warriors in coronavirus-hit Maharashtra

After the rampant prevalence of coronavirus cases among the Maharashtra Police personnel came to the fore, shocking revelations about the administration’s apathy towards the front-line coronavirus warriors have been made by a journalist working with the Maharashtra Times.

Vijay Chormare, the Maharashtra Times journalist, took to Facebook to make disturbing allegations about the mistreatment meted out to a Mumbai Police official Amol Kulkarni who was posted in Shahunagar, Dharavi, to contain the meteoric rise of positive coronavirus cases in the region.

Facebook post by Vijay Chormare

According to Chormare, while discharging his duties to curb the spread of the coronavirus, Kulkarni, unfortunately, contracted the contagion himself and was advised home quarantine. Chormare alleges that when Kulkarni’s condition deteriorated, no government ambulance came when they called helpline number 108. Furthermore, Kulkarni’s colleagues, police officers themselves, also failed in getting any ambulance to transfer their friend to a hospital. As a result, Kulkarni was made to wait for about half an hour before which a private ambulance took him to hospital.

However, as per Chormare’s account, the delay of precious few minutes proved fatal for Kulkarni as the assistant police inspector’s health steadily deteriorated to the point of no return and the subsequent morning he was declared dead by the hospital authorities.

Facebook post by Vijay Chormare

Since Kulkarni had tested positive for COVID-19, his body was quickly washed and packed in a body bag. However, instead of mentioning COVID-19 as the cause of the death on his death certificate, the hospital authorities mentioned high blood pressure and diabetes as the probable cause of death. When Kulkarni’s friends discovered this, they insisted the hospital authorities to change the cause of death to COVID-19 but they did not heed them. Kulkarni being hHis friends then sought help from Shirala MLA Mansingh Fattesingh Rao Naik who in turn sought Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh’s intervention to get the certificate updated with COVID-19 as the cause of death.

Facebook post by Vijay Chormare

Kulkarni is survived by his wife and a young daughter. They have been tested for coronavirus and the test results are awaited. They are currently home quarantined.

Owing to the coronavirus lockdown, none of Kulkarni’s relatives from his village could attend his funeral which was carried out by the municipal corporation. Amol’s best friend gave his last salutes to the fallen soldier.

Even the senior police officials under whom Kulkarni served did not visit him in the hospital. They along with the Home Minister Anil Deshmukh visited police station where they paid their tributes to the assistant police inspector.

However, the entire episode betrays the deplorable state of the administration and the inefficiency of the government machinery in dealing with the coronavirus crisis in the state. When the state administration cannot ensure proper treatment to their front line officials who are infected by the contagion, it is beyond imagination how the state must be dealing with thousands of citizens suffering from the virus.

“Friends, this is the story of a small cog in a big wheel. Amol was a part of a larger system meant to keep the citizens safe and provide assistance to them when they contract the intractable contagion. Glorifying front-line warriors as “Covid Warriors” makes no sense when they are not extended the required help and support that they need. This sordid tale is a representative picture of how the state administration treats its Covid warriors, ” Chormare said.

He further continued, “This is how a police officer suffering from COVID-19 was treated by the administration. When an employee of the state administration is treated with such apathy, how would the common man be treated by such an administration? It is therefore not uncommon for people to run away to their native places with bags on their backs under the scorching sun. Now, you decide will you ask your loved ones to stay in Mumbai and await their fate or ask them to return to their villages?”

Oscar-winning ‘Joker’ actor Joaquin Phoenix urges people to virtually adopt a cow

A day prior to Mother’s day which was celebrated worldwide on May 10, the Oscar-winning actor Joaquin Phoenix had urged people to virtually adopt a cow for Mother’s day. LA Animal Save and Farm Sanctuary had on Mothers Day shared an appeal made by the Gladiator actor in which he asks his fans to sponsor bovines by donating $35 or more, at the LA Animal Save and Farm Sanctuary where Liberty and baby currently live. This would which would be helpful in the upkeeps of the bovines at the sanctuary.

Pertinently, the Vedic Scriptures refer to the cow as our mother. Millions of Hindus revere and worship cows. Hinduism is a religion that raises the status of Mother to the level of Goddess. Therefore, the cow is considered a sacred animal, as it provides us life sustaining milk. The cow is seen as a maternal figure and a symbol of the divine bounty of earth.

Joaquin Phoenix rescues a cow and her baby calf from a slaughterhouse

Joaquin Phoenix is himself a Vegan and has professed great love for cows. The Hollywood actor had rescued a cow called Liberty and her calf named Indigo from a slaughterhouse in Pico Rivera, Los Angeles. The actor then took them to the LA Animal Save and Farm Sanctuary at Acton in California. Phoenix has now asked his supporters to celebrate Liberty’s first Mother’s Day at the sanctuary by donating generously.

Phoenix and his fiancee Rooney Mara had adopted the cow and its calf and named them Liberty and Indigo respectively, two days after winning the Oscars for his movie Joker. Partnering with Farm Sanctuary, the actor couple visited a slaughterhouse in Pico Rivera, LA with members of the organisation two days after the Oscars and after having a discussion with Anthony Di Maria, the CEO of Manning Beef, the actor rescued the mother cow and her calf and got the bovines transported to another facility owned by Farm Sanctuary.

Following a severe backlash, NDTV deletes the video where their reporter was seen asking a ‘migrant worker’ to pose and ‘walk again’ while crossing the Yamuna

After drawing severe flak from several quarters for uploading a blatantly insensitive and allegedly propagandist video on the migrant crisis in Uttar Pradesh, NDTV has now deleted its tweet in which a reporter was heard asking an alleged migrant worker crossing the river Yamuna to enter Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh from Haryana’s Kalanaur to ‘walk again’, perhaps for better footage.

NDTV reporter asks ‘migrant worker’ to pose again

Last week, NDTV was at the receiving end of criticism when it was caught peddling a propaganda video in which a reporter was seen asking an alleged migrant worker to go back a few steps and walk again while crossing the Yamuna to enter Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh.

As can be seen in the above video, at around 2 seconds into the video the reporter shooting the video asks the man to walk back a few steps and walk again. The ‘migrant worker’ then takes a few steps back and pauses to pose. He then walks again after receiving cue from the reporter.

The fact that the ‘migrant worker’ was asked to pose and walk again was promptly discerned by the netizens which resulted in a widespread social media outrage over the authenticity of the clip posted by NDTV. Many netizens also slammed NDTV for trivialising the travails faced by the migrant workers by insensitively asking the purported migrant worker to step back and pose walk again.

Following the backlash on the Internet, NDTV defended itself saying that the video uploaded on its Twitter account was sourced from a stringer. Though it was meant to alleviate the fallout, the response only served to aggravate the barrage of criticism directed at NDTV. Twitter users started questioning as to what was the compulsion faced by the NDTV to buy such propagandist videos from stringers.

However, after defending itself for sourcing a video from a stringer, NDTV has now deleted the original tweet which carried the video of the reporter asking a ‘migrant worker’ to provide a better pose.

NDTV aired the show with edits

While NDTV uploaded the unedited version of the video on the Internet for the social media users, the same courtesy was not extended for the TV viewers who were shown a doctored video by the NDTV. A few hours after the tweet was posted, NDTV aired the video on television and shared a clipping of journalist Vishu Som’s show, but the instance where the reporter asked the ‘migrant worker’ to step back and walk-in again were edited out without any clarification.

In fact, the clip played in Som’s show shows the ‘migrant worker’ walk right after the had stepped back and posed in the above video.

NDTV India journalist shares picture of buses from Kumbh to pass off as buses arranged by Congress for migrants

NDTV India journalist UmaShankar Singh today took to Twitter to share a picture of a long parade of buses where he implied that these were the buses arranged by the Congress party to get back migrant from Uttar Pradesh. Sharing the picture on Twitter the NDTV journalist said that UP Government had given permission for the buses sent by Congress to ply back with the migrants.

Umashankar Singh’s tweet

The fact is that the image the NDTV journalist used to pass off as buses arranged by Congress for migrants is actually the image of the parade of 500 buses which was organised by Yogi government in February last year for the people travelling to Kumbh Mela.

The image shared by NDTV journalist was that of buses arranged by UP Govt during Kumbh 2019

The UP government had attempted to make Guinness Records last year by arranging for 500 special non-stop buses in Prayagraj, to break the record of the United Arab Emirates. Till date, Abu Dhabi held a record of running 390 buses in a parade. And this UP government’s efforts had paid off. The Ardh Kumbh Mela 2019 at Prayagraj had made it to the Guinness World Record for the largest parade of buses.

Many media houses had extensively covered this news last year and used the same picture which has now been used by the NDTV journalist to pass off as the parade of buses organised by the Congress for migrant workers.

Article by Financial Express dated February 28, 2019
India TV’s report dated March 1, 2019

Laughably, NDTV had itself used the same image back then to report how the UP Government was eyeing to make it to the Guinness Record for “Largest Parade Of Buses”.

Article published by NDTV on February 28, 2019

Probably as an afterthought, the journalist tried to rectify his lie by calling the image he shared as a symbolic image. He tweeted that since the Congress had sent 1000 buses to clear the ‘Kumbh’ of migrant workers on the road, he had shared this as a symbolic image.

Give us your list of 1000 buses and drivers: Yogi tells Priyanka

The Uttar Pradesh government today accepted Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s offer of providing 1,000 buses for migrant workers. In a letter to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, UP Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi informed her that the government has accepted her proposal dated 16th May for providing buses for migrant workers. “Hence, without any delay please send list of drivers and co-drivers of these 1,000 buses so that we can make use of them in bringing back the migrant workers,” he wrote.

Former MP and journalist Shahid Siddiqui shares 2016 video from Bangladesh as that of India’s migrant crisis

On Monday, former journalist Shahid Siddiqui tweeted a video of a mother and a toddler sitting on a thin rim connecting two compartments of a fast-moving train. He shared the video of the duo with the intention of criticising the government.

Siddiqui wrote, “Look at this mother travelling on a goods train with a child. For her risk of dying like this is less than dying of hunger in a heartless city.” He further claimed that such a miserable state of a person can only happen in a country like India. The tweet has now been deleted.

In the video, a woman dressed in pink clutches onto a train handle with one hand and her baby in the other. The woman, who is visibly impoverished, can be seen risking her life travelling on an iron rim connecting the two train compartments.

Tweet by Shahid Siddiqui

What is the Truth?

The video was uploaded on Youtube by a channel named Kaushik on September 13, 2016. The video which has about 864 views at the time of writing this article is accompanied by a caption that reads, “Most dangerous train journey in the world (2016)/ Bangladeshi Mother and Child.”

The video dates back to 2016

Some Twitter users have stated that action should be initiated against Siddiqui for sharing fake claims in a time of crisis. Siddiqui has been found peddling fake news on numerous other occasions too.

Other fake claims over the plight of migrants

While the government is pushing the administration and law and order machinery to help the migrant workers travelling to their native places, there have been many attempts by several prominent social media handles to use foreign, or old images to falsely claim plight of Indian migrant workers due to the coronavirus lockdown.

Earlier, former Aaj Tak and ABP News journalist Punya Prasun Bajpai had posted an image which showed the chapped, rough feet of some children. He added the text, “Mother India ke panv dekhe hain kabhi”? which means, ‘have you ever seen the feet of mother India? However, the image was from an old article on Pakistani children.

Even the Congress party had tried to pass off an image from Bangladesh as that of Indian migrant workers suffering due to lockdown. Congress’ SC department had shared an old image of a Rohingya refugee in Bangladesh to attack the central government for its alleged inefficiency of handling of the migrant workers’ issue.

After being called out, Siddqui has deleted his tweet and has apologised for the same.

BJP President JP Nadda condemns targeting of independent voices on social media by state machinery in opposition ruled states

BJP National President JP Nadda, Monday, put out a series of tweets in which he condemned the state machinery in opposition ruled states for targeting BJP workers, supporters and independent voices on social media.

In his tweets, Nadda denounced how in the last few days, local administration in many states has been coming after those who have been critical of the local government, which he said is unacceptable. In a vibrant democratic country like India, every individual has the freedom to free speech and using force to scuffle dissenting voices does not befit those in power, Tweeted the BJP President.

“n the last few days, it has been observed that in opposition ruled states, the state machinery has been used unfairly to target BJP workers and independent voices on social media, critical of the local government’s handling of Covid. In a vibrant democracy, this is unacceptable”, wrote JP Nadda.

In his next tweet, JP Nadda maintained that the culture of debate and criticism of those in public life is an integral part of our democratic process but, using its power to scuffle dissenting voices is unbecoming of those in power. “Opposition should adhere to political arguments, when questioned on their failing”.

BJP National President JP Nadda extended his and his party’s unconditional support to every BJP worker, supporter & well-wisher, who are being targeted. “I want to assure every BJP worker, supporter & well-wisher, who is being targeted by those scared of their unprincipled politics getting exposed, that the BJP stands with you. We will defend your right to free speech and resist these tyrannical forces in the democratic framework,” said the BJP National President in his last tweet.

Twitter user Shashank Singh aka @pokershash questioned for over 6 hours by Kolkata police over a tweet

Recently, another twitter user @pokershash was interrogated for over 6 hours by Kolkata police based on a complaint filed against him by National Executive Member of the Aam Aadmi Party, Preeti Sharma Menon. Poker Shash was forced to go through this badgering for his response to Preetin S Menon’s crass tweet targeting Union Minister for Railways.

In a reference to an accident where migrants had lost their lives after being run over by a train while sleeping on railway tracks, Menon said: “Why are these migrants still walking? Doesn’t Piyush Goyal have a train to run them over with?”

Political commentator Shefali Vaidya faces ire from the left on Twitter

On April 15, a Shiv Sena leader Akshay Vijay Panvelkar had written to the senior police inspector of the Bandra Police Station, asking him to take action against political commentators Shefali Vaidya and Sunaina Holey, for speaking against the role of Tablighi Jamaat in endangering public health and safety and highlighting the failure of the Uddhav Thackeray government to prevent the massive gathering at Bandra.

It has been no secret how the left-liberal ecosystem has always tried to intimidate, harass and scuffle the voices of people with conflicting ideologies. Social media platforms have commonly become the hunting ground where several opposition politicians and several left-liberal personalities openly issue threats, resort to repulsive and abusive slangs to berate any individual who dares to think or speak differently.

“Eat beef, only then you will become a true Muslim,” Hindu woman accuses her husband of torture, says being pressurised to convert to Islam

A video went viral on social media recently where a woman who addressed herself as Neha Khan could be heard saying that her husband was torturing her. The plight of the woman who is married to one Nafees Khan evoked sympathy from a lot of people. She alleged that she was not being fed properly and her husband beats her regularly. She also alleged torture on the grounds of religion. She is a Hindu and her husband is Muslim. The woman is a resident of Burari in Delhi.

The videos were shared by journalist Soumyadipta on Twitter.

OpIndia got in touch with the lawyer of the woman concerned, Advocate Karunesh Shukla. He told us that an FIR has been registered by the Police under sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation). The Burari Police station allegedly refused to file an FIR in the matter initially when Neha Khan approached them but proceeded to do so after the advocate intervened in the matter. The FIR was registered on the 14th of May.

FIR registered in the matter

The FIR lodged at the Burari Police Station states that Neha Khan married Nafees Khan in March 2018, it was a love marriage. Her daughter was born nine months later. She says in the FIR that she came to know after her marriage that her husband was already married. She says that soon Nafees Khan had started quarrelling with her and beating her a few days after the marriage. But she continued to endure the torture to save her marriage. She claims in the FIR that the torture increased in its intensity after the birth of her daughter.

Neha Khan says that Nafees Khan beats her over trivial matters and threatens to murder her. She claims that in April her husband showed her a big gun and threatened to kill her with it. She says that he had again given the same threat a week before the FIR was registered. She says in the FIR that the husband does not even give her enough money to cover the expenses of her and her daughter.

The FIR registered in the matter

Advocate Karunesh Shukla told us that Neha Khan has since then gone to her parents’ home. The whereabouts of Nafees Khan are not exactly known to the advocate. He told us that she is continuing to receive threats from the family of her husband. He also informed us that he is receiving threats from Pakistan and he is being abused in the most vulgar of words. He told us that he is fearful of his life.

The advocate also told us that Nafees Khan told Neha Khan that she could practice her own faith after they were married. However, following their marriage, he used to force her to eat buffalo meat. He used to beat her and tell her to read the Quran and perform Namaz, the lawyer told us. In the video that has gone viral, the woman also says that the brother of his husband is in the Aam Aadmi Party. She repeats much of the allegations in the FIR in the video as well. She says that she was told that her grave will be dug and he will build his life over her grave. He also sought to throw her out of the house.

In the video, Neha Khan shows the gun as well and weeps that her life has been destroyed. She begs people to give her justice and demands that action be taken against her husband. In another video that has been accessed by Opindia, Neha Khan says that Nafees Khan beat her when she refused to give in to his demands and observe Namaz and Roza. She also says that she was forced to eat buffalo meat. She also says that her husband forced her to undergo a gender determination test when she was pregnant and when the doctors told him that it was a boy, he did not say anything but when a daughter was born, the torture increased in intensity.

Neha Khan says in the video that her husband told her, “Tu abhi pakki Musalman nahi bani hai, Gau maas kha, bhains ka maans kha, tab jaake tu Musalman banegi (You have not become a true Muslim, eat beef and buffalo meat, only then you will become a true Muslim)”. She adds she was beaten a lot over the matter and her husband refused to pay her electricity bills. She says that her husband told the people who delivered water in the area that they shouldn’t provide water at her home. She also says that she was threatened to withdraw her complaint over the matter. Neha Khan also said that she registered a complaint with the Police only after things had escalated to such a point. The advocate told us that the enquiry is currently on in the matter.
