JNU Teachers’ Association condemns Sharjeel Imam’s arrest, blames Delhi Police for showing undue ‘urgency’ in his case

The Jawaharlal Nehru University Teachers’ Association (JNUTA) has issued a statement condemning the arrest of former university student and radicalised Shaheen Bagh mastermind, Sharjeel Imam. The statement says that his remarks do not warrant charges of sedition and his arrest is an attempt to curb dissent.

The statement also went on to blame ‘extreme politicization’ of the conduct of the law enforcement agencies for the arrest. Signed by DK Lobiyal, President and Surajit Mazumdar, Secretary of JNUTA, the statement also slammed the Delhi Police for showing undue ‘urgency’ in the arrest of Sharjeel Imam as in contrast to the lack of a single arrest over the January 5 JNU violence till date.

“The continuation of the colonial-era law on sedition on the statute book of Independent India has also been subjected to widespread questioning, particularly due to its rampant misuse by the government to curb dissent”, read the statement issued on January 28.

JNUTA statement signed by DK Lobiyal, President and Surajit Mazumdar, Secretary.

The JNU Teachers Association which is largely controlled by the leftist coterie, also alleged that the sedition charges on Sharjeel Imam were invoked due to “other reasons”. JNU has also had a direct experience of this not so long ago, it said.

It is pertinent to note here that 113 JNU professors had in a note written on November 21, 2019, disassociated themselves from the JNU Teachers Association (JNUTA) alleging that the association was hand in gloves with miscreants in attacking teachers over protests against the marginal hostel fee hike in the university. One Professor Aswini Mohapatra took to Twitter to say that the 113 teachers believe that JNUTA is the root cause of the current deadlock. Controlled by the Left-wing coterie, it has turned JNU into a hotbed of Azadi brigade.

Meanwhile, after arresting former JNU student and The Wire columnist Sharjeel Imam Tuesday from Bihar’s Jehanabad, the Delhi Police returned to the capital with him on Wednesday. Imam, who was booked in a sedition case, was produced in the Patiala House court in Delhi on Wednesday, which sent him on five-day police custody.

Imam, who masterminded the Shaheen Bagh road blockade to protest against the CAA, was arrested by Delhi Police from Bihar after multiple FIRs were filed against him for his seditious speech. Addressing a gathering at Aligarh, Imam had urged Muslims to come together and cut off the Siliguri Corridor aka the chicken’s neck, which connects the seven northeastern states to rest of India. He had also earlier made provocative speeches where he had asked Muslims to come out and block roads of India and bring it to a standstill so as to get international media attention.

The man who opened fire on anti-CAA protesters in Delhi claims he did it to ‘avenge killing of Chandan Gupta during Tiranga Yatra in 2018’

A man opened fire outside the Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi today during the ongoing protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act, injuring one person in the ensuing. He has now been taken into police custody. The man had been identified as one Gulshan Sharma (name changed), who is a resident of Jewar in the Greater Noida area of Uttar Pradesh.

Hours before the incident, ‘Rambhakt Gulshan’ (name changed) went live on Facebook multiple times saying he is ‘coming to give azaadi’. Gulshan took to Facebook to declare that what he intended to do was an act of revenge for Chandan Gupta, the 16-year-old Hindu boy who was shot at and murdered, by one Salim, following a Tiranga yatra by the ABVP, where people from a particular community had pelted stones which led to clashes in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj in 2018.

FB post of Gulshan

Reportedly, Gulshan, who is now in police custody, had continued to brandish his gun as people continued to gather around him.

Though until then details were unclear on why the man was openly wielding the gun, people on Twitter speculated that it may be staged to get back some legitimacy to the protests after Shaheen Bagh mastermind Sharjeel Imam was arrested.

It’s not yet clear if he was indeed acting on his own or has been paid by the leftist groups, as many suggest, but if we go by the Facebook posts and consider them not paid, this is how it appears.

The members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of RSS, were attacked while taking out the Tiranga Yatra on the Republic Day, in the year 2018, through a Muslim locality. The chants of ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ by the ABVP members irked some people which sparked violence and resulted in the death of 16-year-old Chandan. As per reports, it had been alleged by Chandan’s father, that his son was killed for refusing to chant “Pakistan Zindabad”.

Even though Chandan Gupta’s death was widely mourned by Indians, some so-called liberals had started to blame him for his own death.

The Uttar Pradesh police had made a total of 121 arrests in the Kashganj matter. Salim, the main accused along with his brothers Waseem, Naseem and 17 others had been charged in connection with the matter.

Last year, in the Republic Day parade organised in the police line in Kasganj, the family of deceased Chandan was honoured by the state government. Sushil Gupta, the father of Chandan, was offered a memento as a mark of tribute by Suresh Pasi, Minister in charge of the district. District Magistrate R P Singh also paid tribute to Chandan.

Netizens remind AAP government’s alleged support to anti-India elements as they trend #SharjeelKaYaarKejriwal on social media

Sharjeel Imam, the mastermind of the Shaheen Bagh protests was arrested on Tuesday by the police and was brought to Delhi yesterday. As reports of the Islamist’s radical ideologies and hate speeches pour in, his AAP links are also being discussed on social media.

Sharjeel’s videos have emerged on social media where he is seen with AAP leader Amanatullah Khan, inciting violence and making hate speech. Several social media users accused Arvind Kejriwal and his party of joining hands with anti-India elements to appease minorities ahead of the Delhi elections. As Amanatullah Khan was also seen inciting the mob during the earlier incidents of violence in Delhi, netizens started trending the hashtag #SharjeelKaYaarKejriwal.

A user said Sharjeel Imam believed India should be an Islamic state while Kejriwal’s aide Amanatullah Khan stood with Imam.

Another social media user asked whether radical Islamist Sharjeel Imam and Kejriwal was in touch.

Few others had a humorous take on the trend, where they posted memes on Arvind Kejriwal to expose his links with Sharjeel Imam.

The Wire columnist Sharjeel Imam, the mastermind behind the anti-CAA protests at Shaheen Bagh was seen instigating Muslims of the country to break India by cutting of North-east from the rest of the country. Later, it was revealed that AAP leader Amanataullah Khan was also part of one similar anti-CAA protest in which Sharjeel Imam was also present.

The AAP’s support for the Muslim mobs and anti-CAA rioters was further evident as AAP leader Amanatullah Khan stood openly in support of Jamia Nagar protestors which turned violent in December. An FIR has also been registered against Amanatullah Khan for instigating riots in Delhi.

In an inflammatory speech on December 15 at Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh, Khan had attacked the BJP government for enacting the Citizenship Amendment Act by claiming that it was discriminatory for Muslims of the country. Khan had also alleged that the silence of Muslims on the Triple Talaq Act was taken as their weakness by the central government.

The speech which was attended by thousands of impassioned people gathered to protest against the CAA was allegedly delivered just minutes before the violence broke out on the streets of Delhi.

This is not the first time that Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party has been found supporting anti-national elements to further their political interests. The AAP government in Delhi have time and again stood by former JNU ‘students’ Kanhaiya Kumar and Umar Khalid who had allegedly pro-Pakistan slogans inside JNU campus in 2016.

Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government has repeatedly rejected Delhi Police’s request for sanction to prosecute former Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) President Kanhaiya Kumar and others who have been accused of raising anti-India slogans on JNU campus on February 9, 2016.

Shockingly, the Arvind Kejriwal government is of the view that the accused had ‘no intention’ of inciting violence and did not raise such slogans during the march. The Delhi government has found the evidence provided by Delhi Police ‘flimsy’ and ‘riddled with gaps’.

Following the surgical strikes by Indian Armed forces in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to weed out Islamic terrorists, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had then demanded proof from the Indian Army for the surgical strikes it had carried out in Pakistan.

WhatsApp conversations point towards Congress and foreign funded NGO nexus in the anti-CAA protests

A Delhi Congress leader named Nikita Chaturvedi was part of WhatsApp group which mobilised protestors in December, WhatsApp conversations reveal. These messages pertain to December 2019 when the anti-CAA protests were at its peak and were widely peddled as ‘organic’ protests.

Delhi Congress leader Nikita Chaturvedi’s WhatsApp messages

In the above message, Chaturvedi, whose phone ends with number 4231 can be seen asking when Umar Khalid and others would reach the venue for anti-CAA protests.

Delhi Congress leader Nikita Chaturvedi’s WhatsApp messages

This messages, sent by Nikita ahead of 23rd December protests, she could be seen sharing organising details of the protests.

Delhi Congress leader Nikita Chaturvedi’s WhatsApp messages

In above message, she could be seen sharing a video of Umar Khalid’s speech during anti-CAA protests. As can be seen, she is participant of a group called ‘United Against Hate’. Her Facebook profile says she is a ‘delegate at Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee’ and has been general secretary at Delhi State Mahila Congress.

Nikita Chaturvedi’s Facebook page where she claims she’s member of ‘United against hate’ group.

Here is where it gets interesting. In December 2019 OpIndia had reported how Islamic fundamentalist organisations joined hands with ‘Urban Naxal’ linked and missionary funded NGOs to fan the anti-CAA protests which had turned violent.

Regarding United Against Hate, there is an American organisation with the same name but we cannot confirm whether United Against Hate in India is a branch of the American organization by the same name. Therefore, we shall proceed under the assumption that it’s a wholly separate and independent organization.

The organization has a Facebook page and Twitter handle and not a website of its own. Therefore, it’s hard to find information on it. But we did manage to find a report on the Huffington Post that gives a clue into its ideological orientation. The HuffPo report says, “Among the organisations part of the network that United Against Hate will tap into are the Bhim Army, Jamaat-e-Islami, Jamiat Ulema-e-hind, Jamaat-e-Islami and Alpsankhyak Adhikar.” The report also mentions that ‘Senior Advocate Sanjay Hegde’ is part of the initiative as well. United Against Hate also launched a toll-free number for ‘mob lynching’.

Read: Who is instigating violence in colleges: Congress, NSUI, a sinister WhatsApp group and anti-CAA protests

The President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind filed a review petition against the Ayodhya Verdict that paved the way for a Bhavya Ram Mandir at Ayodhya. The Kashmir unit of Jamaat-e-Islami was banned by the government and is suspected of funding the Hizbul Mujahideen while the Jamaat-e-Islami in other states have been protesting against the CAB. The Bhim Army is an organisation whose president has been arrested in the past for allegedly violating the model code of conduct during elections.

The Facebook page provides better insight into the network’s functioning. One of the two managers of the page is Syed Faizan Zaidi, who is either a student or alumni of Jamia Milia Islamia University as per his Facebook profile. He calls himself ‘Mujahid Faizan’. We cannot say for sure if ‘Mujahid’ is his actual name or part of his actual name but what we do know is that Mujahid is a participant of Jihad. And that is why organizations such as Indian Mujahideen have the word in their name. Mujahideen is plural for Mujahid. Of course, Mujahid maybe his nickname but ‘Mujahid Faizan’ appears a very unusual nickname indeed. (After our report, he has now changed his nickname to Zaidi on Facebook.) He is a Jamia Millia Islamia alumni.

This leaves one wondering just how deeply is Congress connected to foreign-funded NGOs which seem to be on a mission to destabilise India.

Actor Karanvir Bohra detained at Delhi Airport for traveling to Nepal without valid documents, blames Air India and others for not reading rules

Actor Karanvir Bohra was detained at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi for not carrying proper identification documents to travel to Nepal. Karanvir himself informed the same by posting a tweet on Twitter today. He said that he was ‘deported’ at Delhi airport on his away to Nepal as he was only carrying his Aadhaar card. He also blamed Air India for this, as the airlines had allowed him to travel to Delhi from Mumbai on Aadhaar card as ID proof.

Karanvir Bohra tagged the external affairs ministry in his tweet, apart from Air India and the Indian Embassy in Nepal. His tweet caused outrage among some people. MTV host Raghu Ram called it bizarre that Aadhar card is not allowed. He also asked, “how come there is NO info about these confusing travel doc requirements?”

Others said that it is ridiculous and highly irresponsible.

Although Karanvir Bohra had to face an unpleasant experience, the fact is that the documents required to travel to Nepal are well known and he was not carrying any of them. Although Nepal allows Indians to visit the country without passport and visa, identification documents are mandatory for Indians.

While Bohra accused Air India of not knowing the rules, actually the Air India has a dedicated page for Indians travelling to Nepal. According to the page, apart from passport, other identification documents like government identity card, voter ID card and some other documents are valid for travelling to Nepal. Most importantly, the list not only does not include Aadhaar, it specifically mentions under it as note that Aadhaar Card (UID) is not acceptable travel document for travel to Nepal and Bhutan, in bold letters. The website of the bureau of immigration also mentions the same, saying that Aadhaar card is not acceptable.

Moreover, the website of the Indian Embassy in Nepal says that only two documents are valid for Indian nationals travelling to Nepal by air, which are valid Indian passport or voter ID. It says that other documents like Aadhaar, Pan Card, Driving License, Indian Embassy Registration are not accepted.

Therefore, the list of documents needed to travel to Nepal is widely available on the public domain, and it is the responsibility of travellers to check the document requirements before travelling to a foreign country, even if there are exemptions for Indians. Moreover, according to an India Today report, Karanvir had a connecting flight from Delhi to Kathmandu, therefore there was no reason for the Mumbai-Delhi Air India flight to not allow him to fly with Aadhaar as it was a domestic flight.

It is important to note that Nepal has exempted the passport requirement for Indian citizens, therefore those travelling to Nepal without passport must have adequate proof that they are Indian citizens. Aadhaar is not a proof of citizenship, it is only a proof of residential proof. Foreign nationals living in India can legally obtain Aadhaar card, and that is the reason why it is Aadhaar card is not accepted as an identification document for travelling to Nepal. The same reason applies to why PAN card is not acceptable, as that also does not prove Indian citizenship.

The Left, liberals and opposition political parties must take responsibility for Gulshan who started shooting in Jamia

A man who has identified himself as Gulshan (name changed) started shooting near the Jamia Milia Islamia University in Delhi, injuring one student, during ongoing protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act. In a video that has now gone viral, the man can be seen brandishing his gun while journalists gather around him trying to capture his antics. The Police has taken him into custody and the injured student is receiving due treatment.

Even as investigations are underway to ascertain his identity and discover his motivations, usual suspects have already jumped in to blame the BJP over the incident. Anurag Thakur is being targeted particularly for the slogan that he raised where he said anti-national elements ought to be shot.

It’s pertinent to mention here that investigation into the matter hasn’t been completed and it could very well be that the entire thing was staged. That possibility can certainly not be ruled out. People on social media have also raised suspicions. Given past record where attempts have been made to invent the ‘Hindu Terror’ bogey, due caution is advised before one comes to any conclusion without any thorough investigation into the whole thing. Posts from his Facebook profile have also gone viral on social media, however, one ought to wait for the investigation to be completed as the Facebook posts could very well be part of the staged event.

Having said that, the manner in which the Leftists have jumped in to blame the BJP for the matter is indeed nauseating. If the Left was capable of any decency, then they would have taken the moment to reflect on their conduct ever since the Citizenship Amendment Act has been passed. From their conduct, it has been clear that they seek to unleash chaos and anarchy across the streets of the country. And what we witnessed at Jamia today in Delhi was their chicken coming home to roost.

From the beginning of the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act, there has been ceaseless provocation of Hindus. The sacred Swastika was insulted, the holy Aum was twisted into a Nazi symbol, slogans of ‘Hinduon se Azadi‘ and ‘Jinnah Wali Azadi‘ were raised at these protests, and all this while, the Left has continued to defend these protests and claimed that the anti-Hindu protesters were actually protesting to save the constitution when it was definitely not the case.

Even more worryingly, attempts have also been made to defend Sharjeel Imam, the mastermind of the Shaheen Bagh protests, who wanted to cut off North East India from the rest of the country by blocking the Chicken’s Neck. It is also being reported that he has confessed that he wants to convert India into an Islamic State. If all this weren’t enough, it has been clear from his adulation of Jinnah that he wishes to unleash civil war in the country in an effort to achieve his Radical Islamic objectives. In spite of it, or maybe because of it, the Left has continued to defend him and has even demanded his release.

The Shaheen Bagh protests have also caused immense trouble for the ordinary citizen of Delhi. They were getting increasingly frustrated with the manner in which the national capital was being held hostage by radical Islamic fundamentalists. An ambulance was prevented from moving forward by the protesters at Shaheen Bagh and as a consequence, the condition of a woman has turned critical. One female shopkeeper was forced to use red chilli powder in order to fend off anti-CAA rioters who threatened her shop.

It was only a matter of time before the continuous provocation led to some sort of response from a wayward citizen who decided that he had enough of it. This is precisely what the Left and the opposition political parties wanted. They want to burn the country to the ground so that they get to rule over it. And now, due to the actions of one Gulshan, they might have just got their wish.

It also needs to be mentioned here that the anti-CAA protests have never been peaceful. They have been violent, reckless and against the territorial integrity of the Indian nation from the onset. Only yesterday, Neeraj Prajapati, a Hindu died after a pro-CAA rally was attacked viciously by a Muslim mob in Jharkhand. Only yesterday, a bunch of anti-CAA and anti-NRC protesters were attacked by goons allegedly associated with the Trinamool Congress. Two people died as a consequence and yet, the Liberal shall not weep for them as the deaths do not fit their narrative.

The Left and opposition political parties always preach that we, as a society, need to understand why a Muslim is motivated to take up arms against the nation and country. However, not a single liberal will dare to ask themselves why was one Gulshan driven to take a gun at Jamia and open fire. No liberal will dare ask why Gulshan did what he did. It’s always WE, THE PEOPLE who must continuously introspect and grovel before Radical Islam and ask ourselves why Muslims are drawn towards terrorism. Never would a liberal introspect why Gulshan, who is claimed to be a Hindu, was driven towards violence even as the anti-CAA protesters continuously engage in provoking Hindus and outraging the sentiments of the Hindu community.

Actions have consequences. There is a reaction to every action. None of us would endorse the conduct of Gulshan but it needs to be understood that his actions were not borne in a vacuum. His actions are a consequence of a chain of events set in motion by the proponents of Radical Islam in collaboration with liberals and opposition political parties. It also doesn’t need special mention that the people most happy with the actions of Gulshan aren’t the pro-CAA crowd, the BJP or even the ordinary Hindu. The people who are most happy with the recent developments are those who want a civil war in the country, the same people who seek to undermine India’s territorial integrity.

Chaos is a ladder, yes, but it’s one that no one can control. The proponents of Radical Islam, liberals and opposition political parties wanted to unleash chaos in the country but there are fundamental truths they do not understand. Humans unleash chaos fully convinced that they are the ones who could possibly benefit from it. However, Chaos is a cruel Mother and once she is unleashed, there’s no way anyone could possibly know where the outcome of it would be. The assorted cabal of anti-India elements may like to believe that only they stand to gain from the Chaos they have unleashed but the indomitable spirit of the Hindu Civilization might very well surprise them.

Kerala student tests positive for coronavirus, India’s first confirmed case

0

A student from Kerala is kept in isolation after he was confirmed positive post his return from a Chinese University in Wuhan, the health ministry said on Thursday.

In a statement, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) of India said the student is from Kerala. This is India’s first confirmed case of the coronavirus that has infected over 7000 people in China so far.

“The patient has tested positive for novel coronavirus and is in isolation in the hospital. The patient is stable and is being closely monitored,” the statement said.

As per reports, Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja called a meeting with the health secretary and other officials from the Directorate of health services to take cognizance of the situation.

The 2019-novel coronavirus epidemic that has concerned health experts worldwide broke out in China’s Wuhan city in early December 2019 and has so far claimed more than 170 lives.

PTI has stated that in Kerala, one person each from Thrissur, Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, and Malappuram and three from Ernakulam district have been kept in isolation wards of various health centres.

According to the figures put out on Wednesday night by Kerala health authorities, around 800 people are under observation in 10 different hospitals. While 10 of them are under observation and kept in isolation wards at various hospitals, others are under home quarantine.

Out of the total of 806 people, 173 had arrived in the state on Wednesday.

As a precautionary measure, Various airports in the country have started screening passengers arriving from China for symptoms of coronavirus infection. New Delhi has requested Beijing for permission to operate two flights to bring back Indians from the Hubei province’s capital. The embassy is in touch with Chinese authorities on the ground to work out necessary logistics and has started sharing evacuation ‘consent forms’ online with Indians stuck in Wuhan.

This had prompted the World Health Organization (WHO) has issued guidelines to prevent exposure to the virus and its further transmission. The organization is now closely monitoring the situation along with the Chinese authorities.

The virus is believed to have originated late last year in a food market in the Chinese city of Wuhan that was illegally selling wildlife. Health experts think it may have originated in bats and then passed to humans, possibly via another animal species.
Unlike SARS, which also originated in China, killed 800 people in 2002 and 2003, it is believed the new virus can spread during the incubation period of one to 14 days, possibly before an infected person is showing symptoms.

So far, the new virus does not appear to be as deadly as SARS, but there have been more cases overall.

Congress Government in Chattisgarh cancels pension for those jailed during emergency under draconian MISA, says they were not victims

The Congress-led Chhattisgarh government has cancelled the monthly pension scheme for those jailed under the Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA) enacted during the Emergency period from 1975 to 1977.

An order issued by the general administration department (GAD) on Thursday said that the pension started on August 5, 2008, by the then Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has been cancelled.

Records show there are about 300 people who were getting benefits from this pension scheme across Chhattisgarh. Under the Loknayak Jaiprakash Narayan (MISA/Defence of India Rules detainees) Samman Nidhi Rule, launched in 2008 by the then BJP government, people who spent three months in jail under MISA provisions during the Emergency were given Rs 10,000 a month. Those imprisoned for six months got Rs 15,000 a month and those jailed for over six months got Rs 25,000. Under the rule, MISA detainees with no criminal cases were given pensions, and after their deaths, their wives were given half the amount.

In January 2019, when Congress came to power in Chattisgarh, the state government stopped the payments, after which beneficiaries moved to court. As the case still remains pending in court, on the 23 January the government scrapped the scheme leaving many angry and helpless.

“The pension was given to the people who fought for the democratic values during Emergency and by cancelling the pension scheme, the Congress government made it clear that they have no respect for democratic values, This is condemnable and we will knock the doors of the court”, Leader of Opposition, Dharmlal Kaushik, said.

On the other hand, Congress claimed that MISA pensioners were not freedom fighters.

Advocate Supriya Upasane, who represents the pensioners in the Bilaspur High Court, says, “The High Court had asked the government to pay the arrears. Instead of paying the money, they scrapped the rule. We will carry on fighting for the Samman Nidhi.”

Advocate General Satish Verma, who is representing the state government in court, however, says, “No court of law ever found them (beneficiaries of the scheme) to be victims. They protested, went against the law and were thus jailed. We are not under any compulsion to pay the pension. It was an earlier government’s decision and we have changed it.”

“The decision is clearly a revenge tactic by Congress. The government hardly needed Rs 8 crore a year for this pension. The felicitation money should, in fact, have been used to encourage the younger generation that is taking to the streets now. This is a meagre amount for the government but meant a lot for these old people. Taking it away is a bad decision by the government,” says Virendra Pandey, a politician who was earlier in the BJP.

BJP ups its ante in Delhi election, takes on Kejriwal over his much-hyped ‘Mohalla clinic’ project

After cornering the Aam Aadmi Party with its fact-checked video on Delhi government schools, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released yet another video, this time exposing Arvind Kejriwal’s flagship Mohalla clinic project.

BJP president JP Nadda on Thursday tweeted a video which claims the Mohalla clinics started by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi lack facilities, including medicines and infrastructure.

Sharing the video JP Nadda wrote: “Kejriwalji, you promised to open 1,000 Mohalla clinics every year. Whatever small number of clinics you opened lack even the basic facilities.”

JP Nadda’s tweet was soon retweeted by Home Minister Amit Shah saying that after education, now the “health revolution of Kejriwal government has been exposed”.

After education, now the health revolution of the Kejriwal government has been exposed. Will Delhi’s poor get their operation done here (Mohalla clinics)? For the sake of your selfish politics, you kept Delhi’s poor away from Modi Ji’s Ayushman Yojana. You have to give answers for the sin that you have committed,” Amit Shah tweeted.

Prior to this, in a response to the challenge given to him by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, HM Amit Shah had tweeted a video where 8 BJP MPs had visited Delhi schools to check up on the tall claims made by Delhi government.

AAP has touted its 2020 manifesto as ‘Kejriwal ka Guarantee Card’. Arvind Kejriwal has claimed that he will seek votes on the track record of his government’s performance in Delhi since 2015. He has also claimed that apart from Full Statehood, his government has delivered on all 70 promises made to the people. But reports reveal that AAP failed to deliver on 75% promises made in 2015.

Read: Delhi govt led by Arvind Kejriwal failed to deliver on 75% promises made: Detailed analysis of all 70 promises made in 2015

As elections come closer, the battle between AAP and BJP is getting more intense by the day. Congress, however, is struggling to find relevance, with many people speculating silent support from the party to help AAP candidates win.

The national capital goes to polls on 8th February and the results for the same will be declared on 11th February.

Watch: Man opens fire near Delhi’s Jamia Millia Islamia during anti-CAA protests, one injured

A man opened fire outside the Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi during the ongoing protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act. He has now been taken into police custody and one individual has been injured. The injured man has been taken to the hospital for treatment. In a video that has surfaced depicting the scene of events, the man can be seen brandishing a gun and raising slogans that are not entirely audible.
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mo-2Z6kX2iE]

The man is currently being interrogated and he has been identified as one Gulshan (name changed). The Delhi Police is currently investigating the incident. The injured individual is a student of Jamia Millia Islamia and he was injured on his left wrist and the injury is believed to be not fatal. The man continued to brandish his gun as people continued to gather around him. Shockingly, journalists and others continued to walk toward the man brandishing gun threateningly even though they weren’t wearing any protective gear.

While the details are unclear on why the man was openly wielding the gun, people on Twitter are speculating that it may be staged to get back some legitimacy to the protests after Shaheen Bagh mastermind Sharjeel Imam was arrested.

Protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act have been extremely unruly and law and order has often been flouted by the protesters. Recently, a gun was brandished by one individual at the Shaheen Bagh protests. After the media initially tried to pin the blame on the BJP, it was discovered later on that the gun belonged to one Mohammad Luqman with links to the Aam Aadmi Party. It still remains to be seen who Gulshan is and whether he is associated with any political organization.

Update: It has been revealed that the suspect of Jamia shooting may be a minor. In accordance with relevant laws, his name has been changed after this revelation came to light.
