Ayodhya: Pooja turns out to be Hasina Bano after 12 years of marriage, threatens her Hindu husband to convert to Islam or be ready for ‘sar tan se juda’

0

In Shahnawazpur, Halkara village in Ayodhya, a shocking case of Love Jihad has been reported. For 12 years, a man named Jagbir Kori lived with his wife Pooja. But one day he discovered that his wife is Hasina Bano, a Muslim, not a Hindu.

The Muslim wife’s family members and other acquaintances are said to have put pressure on her husband Jagbir Kori and the Hindu family to convert to Islam. Jagbir Kori is being threatened with beheading for refusing to convert to Islam, as per reports.

The police started an investigation after receiving a complaint from Jagbir. Jagbir Kori is from a Dalit family and lives in Purva, Ayodhya Halkara. He claims that Hasina Bano, whom he had known as Pooja for 12 years, was actually Hasina Bano.

He claims he met this girl at the railway station 12 years ago. Pooja aka Hasina Bano claimed to be helpless. After this Jagbir and his family took her to their home. Jagbir married Pooja alias Hasina Bano a while later. Both had a son and a daughter. Pooja alias Hasina Bano began teaching Islamic education to children two years ago, according to Jagbir. She also got her son circumcised (khatna) as per Islamic practice. When Jagbir objected, Hasina Bano threatened him.

Jagbir stated that when he arrived home on August 11, his wife was performing Namaz. He said that his wife was also forcibly offering Namaz to his children. Furthermore, he stated that on August 12, a person named Raju from Ayodhya’s Ashapur came to his house with four to five unknown people and stated that Pooja is a Muslim girl named. Haseena Bano is the daughter of a man named Amanatullah.

Jagbir alleged that Hasina Bano has not only been forcing him to become a Muslim but also wanted to have Jagbir’s house and property transferred to her name.

Kerala HC initiates suo motu contempt case against PFI after the organisation called for 1 day hartal, created violence, post arrest of Islamists

On Friday, the Kerala High Court filed a suo motu complaint against members of the Popular Front of India (PFI) for declaring a one-day statewide bandh in the state without permission and for inciting violence. The court stated that hartal had previously been prohibited and that the damage to public property could not be tolerated.

A division bench comprising Justices AK Jayasankaran Nambiar and Mohammed Nias CP sharply condemned Islamist organisation PFI, which has been under fire for its operations across the country and for breaching the Court’s directives. “The action of the aforementioned persons in calling for the hartal without following the procedure contemplated in our earlier order, prima facie, amounts to contempt of the directions of this Court in the order aforementioned”, the Court was quoted.

The initial hours of the protest organized by the PFI were marked with widespread violence and car assaults. The PFI began its protest on Friday morning in Kerala against the nationwide raids and arrests by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Several incidents of stone pelting were reported in the state on September 23. Two lorries were destroyed, as were the windshields of two Kerala State Road Transport (KSRTC) vehicles. Stones were also hurled at vehicles in the districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, and Wayanad by the PFI workers.

The Court took cognizance of the violence and directed the police to ensure adequate measures are put in place to prevent any damage to public or private property of people who do not support the call for a strike. “Adequate police protection shall also be granted to all public utility services that apprehend violence, at the hands of those supporting the illegal hartal,” the Court said.

It also directed the State Police to bear in mind the clauses of relevant penal laws, such as the Kerala Prevention of Damage to Private Property and Payment of Compensation Act, 2019, as well as Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, when registering cases against those found to be in violating the law.

The Court recounted that it had issued a decree in January 2019 taking note of the rare circumstances in the State of Kerala where calls for hartal have over the years come to hold an implied indication of violence threatening the general public. As a result, the Court had ruled that anybody, including any political party or another group of people, who intends to conduct a general strike or hartal shall give 7 clear days’ public notice of their intention to do so.

Normal life has been disrupted in several parts of Kerala, notably in PFI strongholds, as buses controlled by private operators have been kept off the roads. Hundreds of travellers who arrived at train stations from distant locations were stuck this morning and schools either stayed closed or reported low attendance. Shops and businesses in Muslim dominating communities are also closed.

Several Police officers have also been reported injured after the PFI members attacked the officers amid the protest. According to police, a bomb was thrown at a two-wheeler in Kannur, while two police officers were injured by a bike while attempting to disperse demonstrators in Kollam. Officers noted that at Erattupetta in Kottayam district, hartal supporters battled with police as the latter attempted to disperse the throng. PFI activists also compelled many businesses to shut down.

Reportedly, the Kerala High Court suo motu has impleaded PFI State General Secretary A Abdul Sathar as an additional respondent in the case and has directed the State government to file a report. The matter will be taken up next on September 29.

MEA Dr S Jaishankar voices concern regarding security of Indian community following anti-Hindu attacks in Leicester with UK’s Foreign Secretary: Details

Following the anti-Hindu attacks in Leicester and Birmingham, External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr S Jaishankar Wednesday met with his British counterpart James Cleverly whilst at the UN General Assembly in New York on Wednesday and expressed India’s concerns over the security and welfare of the Indian community in the UK.

“Shared my concern about the security and welfare of the Indian community in the UK. Welcomed his assurances in that regard,” Jaishankar said in a tweet following his meeting with Cleverly.

The EAM also said that he discussed the India-UK Roadmap 2030, Indo-Pacific, Ukraine and UNSC matters. “A warm conversation with UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly. Discussed taking forward Roadmap 2030. Our conversation also covered global issues including Indo-Pacific, Ukraine and UNSC matters,” Jaishankar Tweeted.

Meanwhile, the MEA on Thursday said that the Indian High Commission is in contact with the UK side to prevent such attacks and take action against the perpetrators. MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, “We are in touch with diplomatic and security authorities on the matter.”

Indian High Commission in London condemns attack on Indian diaspora in UK

On Monday, the Indian High Commission in London, in a strongly worded note, condemned the violence perpetrated against the Indian community in the UK. In its statement, HCI London also pointed out the vandalisation of premises and symbols of the Hindu religion. The HCI has strongly taken up the matter with the UK authorities and sought immediate action against those involved in the attacks. The HCI also called upon authorities to provide protection to those affected by this violence.

Leicester violence

In August 2022, after India defeated Pakistan in the Asia Cup, an Islamist mob reportedly attacked Hindus in Leicester following a scuffle during an Indian community celebration. A week later, the violence resumed, with Islamists attacking Hindus for days beginning on September 4th. As a result, the Indian community in the UK, particularly in Leicester, has been subjected to vandalism and desecration of Hindu symbols by an Islamist mob. However, a segment of the ‘liberal’ and leftist media, as well as Islamists and their apologists, have attempted to portray the Indian community, particularly Hindus, as aggressors.

ASI teams discover 12,000-year-old artefacts near Chennai, recoveries include gold, beads, money, sculptures from the Pallava period

0

On Thursday, the Archeological Survey of India revealed to have found 12000-year-old artefacts from an excavation site that is believed to have been a place for making stone tools. The place is at a distance of about 5 km from the Renault Nissan vehicle manufacturing unit at Oragadam on the outskirts of the city.

The ASI team also discovered identical pit layers of artefacts from not less than 4 civilizations separated by around a hundred years.

According to a report in the Times of India, hand axes, scrappers, cleavers, and choppers from the Mesolithic period are the most noteworthy artefacts discovered at the Vadakkupattu village site. They were recovered 75cm from beneath the surface, together with a slew of stone shards by the 20 membered ASI team including surveyors, researchers, and labourers.

Archaeologists were also astounded to discover Sangam era (almost 2,000 years ago) artefacts including rouletted pottery, Roman amphora sherds, and glass beads suggesting active commerce with Rome. They also unearthed gold decorations, terracotta toys, beads, bangles, pot sherds, and coins. Meanwhile, one of the ASI staffers discovered sculptures ranging from the early Pallava period (275 CE) to the late Pallavas on the floor inside the surrounding space (897 CE).

The ASI officials also confirmed that the Vadakkupattu village site now had become a culturally and archaeologically important site. Reports mention that following the discovery of an ancient burial site in Guruvanmedu which is at a distance of a few kilometres from the present site, history college students, scholars, and archaeology enthusiasts have been conducting field studies at Vadakkupattu. The ASI teams also found gold at the site a few months ago.

Reportedly, Vadakkupattu has now become an archaeological spotlight for what has been discovered there. The archaeological crew had just gone a few centimetres down when gold jewellery, beads, broken bangles, pot sherds, money, and terracotta toys surfaced. The older objects were discovered in the deeper layers. They also uncovered carved stone tools at a depth of 75cm, indicating a Mesolithic culture. Sculptures and stone carvings from the early and late Pallava dynasties were also found hidden in plain sight on the floor.

ASI superintending archaeologist M Kalimuthu mentioned that Vadakkupattu has gained significance. “Besides the Teri sites at Tirunelveli and Toothukudi districts, Vadakkapattu is the only place in Tamil Nadu where evidence of tools of the Mesolithic period have been found”, Kalimuthu was quoted.

Researchers meanwhile say that the discovered modest size and sharpness of the tools manufactured by ancient people by removing flakes from stones suggest that the village is from the Mesolithic period.

UP: Maulana Jarjis, who called men ‘bh*dwas’ for not putting women in Burqa, sentenced to 10 years in jail for rape and blackmail

0

On Thursday, a fast-track court in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi sentenced Etawah’s Maulana Jarjis to a ten-year prison sentence for sexually assaulting a Varanasi woman and thereafter blackmailing her. He was also fined 10,000 Rupees by the court.

On Wednesday, Maulana was found to be guilty by the Varanasi fast track court. He was charged with raping the woman and then intimidating her by making a video of her.

The Varanasi district’s Jaitpura police station received the complaint on January 17, 2016. The victim who made the accusation states that a prominent member of the religious community Maulana Jarjis regularly travelled to Varanasi to take part in religious events.

The woman had complained that she met Jarjis in 2013 on one of his visits to Varanasi. She said that Jarjis had driven her to the hotel where he was staying, engaged in sexual activity with her, and filmed the incident on camera.

She said that Jarjis repeatedly sexually abused her while promising to marry her and then threatened her. The woman complained to the police on November 19, 2015, which prompted the then-SSP to order the filing of an FIR against Maulana Jarjis.

Controversies around Maulana Jarjis

Maulana Jarjis Ansari Hafizullah has had a lengthy history of controversy. In March of this year, a video of Maulana went viral in which he was seen declaring that even if a Muslim woman is pregnant and ready to give birth, she should not refuse her husband sexual pleasures under any circumstances.

In the video, Maulana says, “O Muslim woman! If you don’t allow your husband to take advantage of your body (sexually), you are committing a grave sin.”

Explaining the commandment of the Prophet, he says, “That’s why the Prophet said – even if you are about to deliver a child and your husband wants to enjoy your body, and have sex at the time of delivery, then O Muslim woman, you will have to fulfil your husband’s wish.”

In March 2021, Maulana Jarjis made another rant in which he abused the relatives of women who wear tight clothes and avoid wearing burqas. In the video, the Islamist Maulana Jarjis Ansari Hafizullah, during the course of his speech could be heard calling the relatives of women who refrain from wearing purdah(Burqa) as ‘bh*dwa’, a Hindi slang which means a ‘pimp’.

“How many times should it be reminded that those whose sisters, mothers, daughters and wives roam around without purdah are bh*dwa…A brother whose sister is roaming without a purdah is a bh*dwa, a father whose daughter is roaming around without a purdah is a bh*dwa, a husband whose wife is roaming around without a purdah is a bh*dwa,” Maulana shrieked.

Maulana Jarjis incites Muslims to take up arms against the government of India

In an older video, Jarjis was seen inciting Muslims to take up arms against the government of India. In December 2019, a video of the Maulana had surfaced in which he was seen making vulgar and derogatory remarks against PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah as he rejected the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC) bill and falsely claimed them of being anti-Muslim.

The Maulana in his hate speech audaciously said that if Modi or Shah try to throw them (referring to the Muslim community) out of the country he would take ‘jihad’ to the last corner of India. He said, “inke baap ke baap ke baap ki bhi takat nahi hain ki humme bahar nikaal de (their forefathers also do not have the gall to throw us out of the nation), humme nikaal ke toh dikha Modi, hum bhi jihad karne se peeche nahi hatengein (try throwing us out Modi, we will also not hesitate in waging jihad).”

Reports say govt may set up panel to ‘study condition of Dalits who convert to Islam or Christianity’: Why we need to tread carefully

Supreme Court of India on the 30th of August issued a notice to the Union Government, asking for their response in a plea that said those Dalit Hindus who had converted to Christianity or Islam should be given the same reservation benefits as extended to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category. The Supreme Court has given the central government a window of three weeks to respond. After that, the petitioners would get one week to respond to the government’s response.

With several such pleas pending in the court, that demand reservation for “Dalit Christians” and “Dalit Muslims”, according to media reports, the government is now mulling setting up a panel to study the condition of those Dalits who convert to Christianity or Islam. According to Indian Express sources, the decision to set up the panel is being discussed at the Cabinet level and a decision on the matter is likely to be taken soon.

The national panel will study the social, economic, and educational status of Dalits who converted to Islam and Christianity. It will submit its report within a year. Reports indicate that the Ministry of Minority Affairs and the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) have given the green signal for such a move.

Notably, last year, the then Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said in the Rajya Sabha that Dalits who had shunned their faith and converted to Islam and Christianity will not be permitted to contest parliamentary or assembly elections from constituencies reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), and will not be allowed to claim other reservation benefits. Speaking on eligibility to contest from reserved constituencies, Prasad said, “Para 3 of the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Order outlines that… no person who professes a religion different from Hindu, Sikh or Buddhist religion shall be deemed to be a member of a Scheduled Caste.”

In 2009, the government-appointed Justice Rangnath Commission recommended 10 per cent reservation for Muslims and 5 per cent for other minorities in government jobs. The committee also favoured Scheduled Caste status for Dalits in “all religions”.

The commission recommended delinking the Scheduled Caste status from religion and abrogation of the 1950 Scheduled Caste Order, which “still excludes Muslims, Christians, Jains and Parsis from the SC net.” The committee recommended that if Muslims were not available to fill the seats, other minorities could be appointed, but in “no case”, the seat should be given to anyone from the majority community. It is noteworthy that Member Secretary of the commission Asha Das was against the SC status on Dalit converts to Islam and Christianity. She found no justification to give such converts SC status. Furthermore, she added that such converts should continue to form part of OBCs and avail benefits accordingly. However, the commission rejected her dissent note.

In 2010, BJP had dubbed the report as a curse and said it should be thrown “into a dustbin”. The party vowed to protect “the rights of backward classes”. The statement was made during a convention in Bengaluru. Then-BJP president Nitin Gadkari had said that the party would not accept the report “at any cost”. He added that BJP would oppose if the then-government decided to implement the recommendations that would result in cutting into the reservation of OBCs.

It is pertinent to note that several Supreme Court judgements and High Court judgements have ratified the 1950 Presidential Order which essentially said that only those who profess Indic faiths – Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists – would constitute Scheduled Castes. Those who convert to Islam or Christianity, leaving Hinduism, would not be eligible for the same benefits.

With the government setting up a panel to study the condition of Dalits who convert to Christianity or Islam, fears have grown that the move would give legitimacy to the demands of reservation and further incentivise conversion.

Reservation for Dalit Christians and Muslims: Why the Modi government should be careful

On 27th December 2021, there was a documented case of a Hindu man belonging to the Dalit section, being force-fed beef by the Christian villagers and ostracised, because he refused to convert to Christianity. Speaking to the media outlet, Salik Gop’s family claimed that, despite being a cowherd family, they are constantly pressured to eat beef. Leave alone farming, their family has been even barred from using the water from the village well. Their children have been forbidden to go to school, said Salik Gop. The family’s entire source of income has been disrupted so that they acceded to the conversion demands of the influential Christian missionaries participating in proselytization in the area, but, Salik Gop said that no matter what happens, he will not submit to their demands.

Only a month before this case came to light, a woman health worker of Jamdih village of Gumla district of Jharkhand approached the police with a complaint against the Christian villagers, accusing them of torturing their family members to accept Christianity. The complainant, who belonged to a Scheduled Caste, had also alleged that the assailants even sexually abused her daughter to mount pressure on the family to adopt Christianity. She had also said that the accused persons instigated the villagers against her family.

There are hundreds of such cases that are documented on a regular basis, where Hindus belonging to the SC community are forced and tortured to accept Christianity. If the reservation was extended to Dalit Christians, that would almost be legitimising these aggressive and violent conversion tactics that are often used by Abrahamic faiths. The force being used to convert Hindus to Christianity, especially those who belong to the “lower castes” would only increase given that the conversion itself would find far more legitimacy with reservations being extended.

But we must also acknowledge that not all conversions by Dalit Hindus to Christianity are by force. There are several Dalits who convert to Christianity either by inducement or because they believe the conversion would give them social mobility. In both cases, however, the rationale is similar. The inducement is that converting from Hinduism to Christianity would give the Dalit individual far more respect, social acceptability and economic stability. The trope that is often used is that the Christian society is an egalitarian one and hence, the Dalit should shed the baggage of his identity and convert.

In fact, the urge to shed that historical and identity baggage is so severe, that often Dalits who convert to Christianity change mostly everything about themselves. Once a Dalit converts, one notices that they change their mannerisms, their linguistic pattern, how they dress and even how they eat. They become a part of the Church congregation which in theory, is meant to treat everyone in its parish equally. There have in fact been many cases where even the converted Christian starts disconnecting with their extended family and friends circle because of their newfound identity. The psychology behind that is once the individual is baptised, they are reborn and start an entirely new chapter of life as a devout Christian, therefore, the earlier roots must be abandoned completely. Another reason for this also is that either those new converted Christians start looking down on their Hindu relatives or they believe that with their changed lifestyle (mannerisms, eating habits etc), they are a misfit in the Hindu society they once belonged to.

Take this case, for example. Dharam Pratap Singh, who had become David after converting to Christianity, had insisted on the burial of his Hindu mother and refused to cremate her. Eventually, her granddaughter had to travel 1,100 kilometres just to cremate David’s mother. In this case, it was also said that the mother was being forced to convert to Christianity by David, but had resisted those attempts.

Christian theology is based on the principles of proselytisation of non-Christians. Beyond that, the ritual of baptism itself is one of “purification”. By virtue of the ritual itself, an individual gets rid of his past identity and starts anew, in the image and likeliness of God. Therefore, their entire identity is purged. In the case where the son insisted on burying his Hindu mother instead of cremating her, the son obviously started believing in the tenets of Christianity which says that the soul will burn in hell if the Christian way of life is not followed. Further, there is substantial societal and Church pressure on the converted Christian to ensure that even their family follows Christianity. David, in the case cited above, beyond his religious belief, must have also been fearful about the ostracisation he might face from the Christian community if his Hindu mother was cremated and not buried. These issues are, of course, internal to the Christian community, however, it is a fair indicator that the Church ensures that the umbilical cord to Hinduism is summarily snapped.

With such changes, it is fair to assume that the individual converts to Christianity because, in his perception, he would shed his part baggage and achieve upward social mobility. A better social status after conversion is a primary motive for those who convert out of their own free will and even those who are induced to convert. Given that these individuals believe that conversion to a theoretically more egalitarian society would help them shed their past identity baggage completely, it is fair to say that they stop being “Dalits” altogether.

In that case, if they are getting equality, why should they be entitled to reservations owing to their former Hindu identity? This could as well be a way to whitewash casteism in Islamic and Christian societies. There are enough examples of lower castes within these two religions being discriminated against. They essentially want state protection while their own discriminate against them, but use their Hindi identity to do so – preserving the propaganda of Christianity and Islam.

Once it is established that Dalits convert to Christianity to shed their historical social oppression, the only argument that remains is that these individuals have remained economically backward due to the historic wrongs committed against them. These are the two premises that form the basis of reservation to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. The Dalit’s conversion to Christianity takes care of their social backwardness, or at least, it is supposed to. As far as their economic backwardness is concerned, the government has now introduced an EWS quota that is meant for the economically backward classes regardless of their caste or religion.

Additional reservation on the basis of an identity they gave up, is essentially going to work as an incentive for Hindus to convert to Christianity. It is pertinent to note that according to reports, 70% of Indian Christians are Dalit converts – if that is true – this essentially means that the majority of Christians would be taking benefits as minorities and as “Dalits”.

Civilisationally, these are issues that the Modi government must tread carefully on. Any reservation accorded to “Dalit Christians” would be a travesty of justice to those who held on to their ancestral and dharmic roots. Not only that, it would act as an incentive for missionaries to convert more Hindus with inducements and false promises almost incentivising the onslaught on the Hindu community by proselytizing societies.

Kerala: PFI workers take out violent protest after NIA raids, buses damaged, stone-pelting, petrol bombs reported

On Friday, the Popular Front of India (PFI) began its hartal in Kerala, protesting against the nationwide raids and arrests by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Several incidents of stone pelting were reported in Kerala on Friday.

According to reports, a KSRTC driver’s eye was injured in Kozhikode when PFI protestors hurled stones at the bus he was driving.

One auto-rickshaw and a car were damaged allegedly by people supporting the state-wise bandh called today by the Popular Front of India over NIA raids in Thiruvananthapuram, ANI reported.

On Thursday, KSRTC announced that it will continue with its services as usual. However, KSRTC bus services were suspended in Kozhikode after several incidents of violence were reported.

In order to ensure the availability of buses to hospitals, railway stations, and airports, Biju Prabhakar, CMD KSRTC had directed all units to continue the daily bus services.

In a release, the Kerala Police has assured that strict action will be taken against those who attempt to shut the shops during hartal forcefully.

Anil Kant, the state police chief, has instructed the district police in charge to restrict PFI members from assembling in public locations and, if necessary, to take preventative custody.

The PFI said on Thursday that a hartal will be held throughout Kerala on September 23rd “against the RSS-controlled fascist government’s attempt to stifle dissenting voices through the central agencies.”

The hartal would go from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to A Abdul Sathar, state general secretary of the PFI.

In a statement, PFI state general secretary Abdul Sathar condemned the use of “state machinery” and stated that Central agencies were being utilized to “suppress dissenting voices.”

“The PFI should not think that it can combat terrorism charges with brute force,” said BJP state president K Surendran. To appease a vote bank, the state government is gentle on PFI.”

PFI workers marched to the locations of the raids on Thursday, raising slogans against the Centre and investigating agencies like NIA. However, central forces were already deployed in all such locations as part of strengthening security.

On September 21 and 22, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided premises associated with the Islamist organization Popular Front of India (PFI) in ten states, including Bihar, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana.

The agency arrested over 100 cadres, including top organization officials. According to the reports, the raids were carried out by joint teams of the NIA, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), and the relevant State Police, and the Union Ministry of Home Affairs was monitoring the organization’s actions.

According to ANI, the NIA also raided the home of PFI Chairman OMA Salam in Manjeri, Malappuram. Following the unexpected raids, PFI workers demonstrated outside Salam’s home. The police also apprehended PFI protesters in many locations.

In Kerala, the NIA has detained PFI’s top leaders, including chairman OMA Salam. Kerala state chief CP Mohammed Basheer, national secretary VP Nazarudheen, and national council member Prof P Koya have all been apprehended.

All India Pasmanda Muslim Mahaz demands ban on PFI

The All India Pasmanda Muslim Mahaz released a press release concerning the action (arrest) of members of the Popular Front of India (PFI).

“PFI is trying to mislead the country by acting as the savior of Islam. We’ve protested against their policies time & again & requested for their ban,” the press release stated.

Rana Ayyub gets slammed by Muslim users on Twitter for trying to hint that hijab is not compulsory in Islam

On Thursday (September 22), ‘journalist’ Rana Ayyub drew the ire of some Muslims on social media after she spoke out in support of the anti-hijab protests in Iran.

In a tweet, she cited the Quran and wrote, “There is no compulsion in religion- Surah Baqarah.” Soon after, scores of angry Muslims descended on her Twitter timeline and slammed her for ‘misinterpreting the Holy book’ and suggesting that women had a choice when it came to religious attire.

One Twitter user (@Dr_Khan96) wrote, “Obviously she knows the context behind the verse. There is no doubt that this well-wisher of gustakh (Blasphemer) is one of the staunch enemies of Islam.”

“But need to look out for those among us who still support her in her anti-Islamic narrative,” the user added.

One Sanif Sultan stated, “This verse is referring to non-Muslims. Muslims don’t get to pick and choose in following Islam and then use this verse out of context to defend their deviant behaviour.”

“Being a journalist, stick to your journalism. Just because you read a verse, don’t mean you can paste it anywhere without knowing its context. And know that misinterpreting the Quran is a big sin,” one Mohammed warned.

“You lost all respect. I don’t see any difference between you and Barkha Dutt. Shame on you Rana,” wrote one Mukarram.

She had earlier stirred the hornet’s nest by extending her support to the anti-hijab protests in Iran. Given that Rana Ayyub garnered support through her endorsement of hijab in Karnataka schools, her stance in the context of women’s right to choice in Iran did not sit well with Islamists.

“I will fight for a woman’s right to wear Hijab and I will also fight for another woman’s choice to not wear it. Be it India or Iran, stop telling women how to dress and behave in public. Back off,” Rana Ayyub wrote in a tweet.

She had also called the Iranian regime ‘fascist’ and made a futile appeal to her supporters to fight against it.

It is worth emphasising that women in Iran are forced to wear a hijab, which covers the head and neck and hides the hair, under Islamic law, which has been in place since the 1979 revolution. While Iranian women battle to be emancipated from the restrictions of headscarves, the hijab is used to further the Islamic agenda across the world.

‘You have a new owner’: Rahul Gandhi insults female NDTV journalist over Adani Group’s acquisition, accuses her of distracting attention from Bharat Jodo Yatra

During his interaction with the media in Ernakulam in Kerala as part of his ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi today insulted a female journalist from NDTV because the controversial media house is being acquired by the Adani group. Rahul Gandhi repeatedly told the female journalist that she has a ‘new owner’ before eventually moving on to not answering her original question.

During the press conference, the journalist from NDTV, whose name was not audible in the video, asked Rahul Gandhi why he was not running for the post of Congress president in the upcoming party elections when he is leading the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra. But instead of answering her question, Rahul Gandhi commented, “I believe you have a new owner”, with a smile on his face.

The female journalist ignores this jibe and continues with her question, but Rahul Gandhi was determined to insult her, so he asked her with stress, “You have a new owner?” while seemingly ignoring the rest of her question.

The Congress MP then said that he was talking about this only, referring to his answer to the previous question. In the previous answer, continuing his familiar accusations against Ambani-Adani, Rahul Gandhi had said that only 2-3-4 big industrialists can do anything they want, like running ports and airports, work on agriculture, build silos, and other people don’t get any help for banks and government.

Therefore, when the next question was asked by an NDTV journalist, this was a perfect opportunity to make another Ambani-Adani jibe, as the Adani group had announced last month that it is acquiring a 29.18% stake in NDTV, and made an open offer for 26% more stake. The acquisition of a 29.18 per cent stake will be indirect and made through Vishvapradhan Commercial Pvt Ltd (VCPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of AMG Media Network Ltd (AMNL), which is owned by Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL).

After making the female journalist realise that she now works for a media house owned by a business house hated by him, Rahul Gandhi added, that ownership of is not immaterial at all. “Ownership of newspapers defines what newspapers do,” he said. With this, he hinted that NDTV’s editorial stand will change after the acquisition by Adani group.

While he had said that he is coming to the question, he actually didn’t address it, and instead accused the NDTV journalist of trying to divert the focus away from Bharat Jodo Yatra. He said that the Yatra is by lakhs of Congress workers, and he is just a participant. But the journalists like her are focusing only on him.

He then said, “Your question about whether I am a candidate or whether I am not a candidate is designed to distract from what we are doing. And I am not going to fall into that trap.” After that, a Congress leader asked the journalists not to keep asking about Rahul Gandhi’s candidature in Congress presidential election, as he has already answered it.

Attacking a journalist for the acquisition involving her employer is unjustified, as the journalist has no control over it, particularly when NDTV is a listed entity. NDTV promoter Pranoy Roy and his wife Radhika Roy had issued warrants valued at 29.18% share in NDTV, and Adani Group purchased the company that holds the warrants, and after that decided to execute the warrants. It was a decision taken by the promoters to issue warrants in exchange for an interest-free loan, and the employees of the media house including the journalists have no role to play in this transaction.

Twitter ends up suppressing information exposing Islamists in UK, penalises journalist for sharing their videos

Leicester City, in England’s East Midlands, has seen a spate of targeted attacks on the Hindu minority in the area. The outbreak of Islamist violence against Hindus began shortly after the India-Pakistan match in the Asia Cup on August 28. So far, around 50 people have been arrested in connection with an attack by Islamic fundamentalists on a gathering of Hindus in the city.

On Friday, September 16, hundreds of Hindus took to the streets of Leicester to protest against the earlier violence by Muslims against Hindus in the area. During the protest by Hindus, the Muslim mob started indiscriminately attacking Hindus with stones and glass bottles. The protest by Hindus was disrupted by Islamists as they hurled glass bottles at the protestors. A Saffron flag was also desecrated by a mob of Islamists in front of the police.

Even The Indian High Commission in London on Monday, September 19, in a strongly worded note condemned the violence perpetrated against the Indian community in the UK. In its statement, HCI London also pointed out the vandalisation of premises and symbols of the Hindu religion. The HCI has strongly taken up the matter with the UK authorities and sought immediate action against those involved in the attacks.

During these violent attacks by Islamists, a London-based journalist Wasiq Wasiq (Twitter handle @WasiqUK) was doing an excellent job of documenting the violence by the Islamists, and the provocative speeches being made by Islamists in Leicester. Wasiq shared several videos of these provocative speeches directed against Hindus in the area.

Not only were Wasiq’s videos viral on the internet, but they also did a good job of exposing who is fanning the flames of hatred in Leicester. In fact, his posts were also noted by the local police as they looked to clamp down on the surge of hate crimes in the area against Hindus.

However, looks like Wasiq may have shared one too many such videos for the liking of Twitter authorities. On Thursday, Wasiq shared another video of hate speech directed against Hindus where one man was saying that the unity of Islam will break vegetarian Hindus into pieces.

While the tweet was only exposing the hate-filled rhetoric being used on the ground to fan the flames of violence against Hindus, Twitter chose to remove the video for violating its “community guidelines”. The tweet now stands deleted as per Twitter’s “rules”. As is the case in most such incidents when Twitter removes a tweet, it is likely that Wasiq’s account is now locked for a day as well. We could not get independent confirmation whether the same is the case with Wasiq’s account as well.

However, Twitter’s removal of the video exposing the hate speeches directed toward Hindus on the ground tells us that Twitter is not committed to letting the facts of the Leicester violence come to light. When even local police is taking the help of these videos to track down those responsible for violence on the ground, the decision to remove such a tweet is quite puzzling.
