Watch: Female teacher at Deobandi seminary in Islamabad beheads effigy of French President in front of children for ‘blasphemy’ against Islam

0

Anti-France protesters in Islamabad, Pakistan beheaded an effigy of French President Emmanuel Macron to demonstrate their anger against him for defending the right to draw cartoons of prophet Muhammad. The effigy was beheaded by a female teacher at a Deobandi seminary in Islamabad in front of students, many of whom were children.

Tayyaba Dua Ghazi, daughter of Deobandi cleric Abdul Aziz Ghazi, was quoted by research institute SAMRI as saying, We shall avenger our Prophet’s honor. We seek the Prophet’s approval, not FATF White List. France can’t insult the Prophet and maintain the glory of Paris. As you sow, so shall you reap.”

Muslims in Islamabad also attempted to march to the French Embassy in Islamabad on Friday to register their protest against Emmanuel Macron and France for defending the right to blaspheme against Islam. The Police had to resort to tear gas and baton to prevent the protesters from reaching the French Embassy.

It is pertinent to remember that the punishment for blasphemy in Islam is death with beheading being the preferred form of carrying out the death sentence. Thus, the beheading of the effigy of Emmanuel Macron assumes particular sinister significance. Protests have erupted across the Muslim world against Emmanuel Macron and France after cartoons of prophet Muhammad were projected on government buildings.

Watch: Three Muslims roam around dressing up like Hindu Sadhus, reveal true identity when threatened

0

A video has surfaced online where three Muslims clad in saffron robes, are seen roaming around in an empty area when they are accosted by a man who asks them to reveal their identity. The youths, who are also carrying saffron colour jholas (hanging bags) and some instrument in their hands, at first attempt to steer clear of the questioning, but after the person shooting the video threatens them with the police, they confess of being Muslims.

In the undated video, which has now gone viral on social media, the man behind the camera approached these three youth and asks them to reveal their identity. One of them immediately identifies himself as Diwan. The man again asks him to confirm his name, but he insists that his name is Diwan. He then asks the second youth who identifies himself as Ali Hussain.

When the man who is shooting the incident asks the Muslim youths as to why are they roaming around in bhagwa clothes, Diwan asks: “What difference does it make. We are not stealing anything”.

Ali Hussain remains quite and answers only when prodded. Diwan is the only one who does the talking. At this point too, Diwan maintains that he is not a Muslim and refuses to reveal his true identity. When the man asks him to produce his Aadhar card, Diwan says he does not have one. Both state that they are residents of Tikaria village in Gonda district, Uttar Pradesh. The man then threatens the youths with the police. He asks them to get into the car and tells them that if they do not speak the truth he will take them to the Kotwali.

Diwan and Ali start walking when they are joined by another youth who introduces himself as Suddu. When the man interrogating the youths asks him whether he is a Hindu or a Muslim, he counter-questions him: “What do you think. What mistake we have made.” When the interrogator asks again, this time in a firmer tone, Suddu confesses that he is a Muslim.

Sharing this undated video, Bajrang Dal member Shubham Bhardwaj alleged that youths like these, who regularly indulge in crimes like rape and theft, mask their identity behind Bhagwa clothes and the so-called secular media, uses these opportunities to denounce Hindu Sadhus.

Well, the concern raised by the Bajrang Dal Karyakarta is not wrong. The secular media has this incredible ability to give a Hindu spin to crimes committed by Muslims. Innumerable times the word “Tantrik” has been used for Muslim heeler or a preacher who have committed crimes like rape or theft.

In general parlance, the Tantrik – practitioner of the “tantra vidya“, is mainly associated with Hinduism, leading to a perception that the crime was committed by a Hindu individual. Besides this, many reports have also gone on to claim that the Tantrik was based out of an “ashram” thereby further appropriating the crime to Hinduism.

Incidentally, such a misinterpretation of crimes is not limited to Muslim accused. We had reported how India Today had introduced a Christian pastor as a “Kerala priest” while reporting about his demand for jeans and t-shirts girls to drown in the sea.

Massive Earthquake of 7.0 magnitude jolts Turkey and Greece, 4 dead

0

Turkey and Greece were hit with a major earthquake of 7.0 magnitude on Friday, jolting western Turkey and ravaging building in coastal cities there. The tremors of the earthquake were felt as far away as Athens and Istanbul. At least 4 people have been killed due to the earthquake.

According to the US Geological Survey, the epicentre of the quake was registered about 14 kilometres off the Greek town of Neon Karlovasion on the Aegean Sea island of Samos.

However, Turkey reported the magnitude of the quake at 6.6, saying 20 buildings collapsed in the city of Izmir.

Social media websites are rife with videos and photos of the devastation caused by the earthquake in the Izmir town of Turkey. In one such video that is now going viral on the internet, a building can be seen collapsing following the earthquake.

As per reports, the earthquake had given rise to the threat of tsunami along the coastal regions of the two countries and many social media users are posting videos, claiming that cities along the coast are witnessing flooding of the seawater.

According to USGS, the earthquake occurred as the result of normal faulting at a shallow crustal depth within the Eurasia tectonic plate in the eastern Aegean Sea. “The focal mechanism solution indicates that the earthquake occurred on a moderately dipping normal fault striking either eastward or westward”, it said.

Turkey and Greece are prone to earthquake

Turkey and Greece sit on fault lines and earthquakes are a common occurrence in the region. In January this year, more than 30 people were killed and over 1,600 injured after an earthquake hit Sivrice in Turkey’s eastern Elazig province. Before that, in July 2019, Greek capital Athens was jolted by a tremor that plunged many parts of the city into darkness.

About 2 decades back, a very powerful earthquake rattled the Turkish city of Izmit, near Istanbul. More than 17,000 had been killed in that earthquake.

Islamabad, Pakistan: Police fire tear gas and resort to baton to prevent Islamist mob from marching to the French Embassy

0

Violence has erupted in Islamabad, Pakistan as protesters attempted to march towards the French Embassy to register their anger towards French President Emmanuel Macron after cartoons of prophet Muhammad were projected at government buildings. The cartoons were projected as a show of defiance after Samuel Paty, a high school teacher, was beheaded by an Islamic terrorist in Paris for showing cartoons of the prophet of Islam to his students.

The Police in Islamabad resorted to tear gas shells as they tried prevented the mob from reaching the French Embassy. The Police have blocked the road leading up to the French Embassy. Protesters could be seen in videos attempting to cross the barricades that had been put up.

Some protesters also appear to have gotten injured after the Police cracked down at the gathering and resorted to using the baton.

Protests erupted elsewhere in Pakistan and much of the Muslim world as well. Lahore and Multan saw hundreds and thousands of Muslims take to the streets chanting slogans against France and calling for boycott of French products. Effigies of Emmanuel Macron were also set on fire as demands were made for Pakistan to sever ties with France.

In Gaza, Palestinians protesting against France chanted, “With our souls and blood we will redeem the Prophet.” In Bangladesh, protesters raised slogans of “Boycott French products” and carried banners calling Emmanuel Macron “the world’s biggest terrorist”. Protests were witnessed in Lebanon and elsewhere as well.

Election Commission removes Kamal Nath from Congress star campaigner list for his ‘item’ remark for Dalit woman leader

0

The Election Commission has revoked the former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh and Congress leader Kamal Nath’s star campaigner status in Madhya Pradesh after he was found committing multiple model code violations.

Nath had been reckless in choosing his words while campaigning for the Congress party in upcoming bypolls in the state. The Election Commission had rapped Nath for his use of word ‘item’ for a woman candidate and stated that the usage of the said word for a woman constitutes a violation of the advisory issued by the commission.

Election Commission revokes Kamal Nath’s star campaigning status over his ‘item’ remark

Pulling up Kamal Nath, the Election Commission said that it is unbecoming of a leader of a political party to resort to using degrading words such as ‘item’ to address a woman during campaigning for the by-elections while the Model Code of Conduct is in effect.

This was not the only instance when Kamal Nath was accused of breaching model codes and using inappropriate words in his public utterances. While attacking the current CM of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Nath had described him as “nautanki ke kalakar” and stated that “Your God is mafia through which you established the identity of Madhya Pradesh…your God is a ‘milawat-khor’ (adulterator)”.The Election Commission had also taken offence on these words, saying that its report confirms the violation of model code of conduct.

With Nath being revoked from the Congress’ star campaigning list, if he is found campaigning henceforth onwards, the entire expenditure of the campaign will be borne by the candidate in whose constituency the campaign is being undertaken, the order issued by the Election Commission said. The order further added that the Model Code of Conduct has evolved over several decades with the consensus of all the political parties to maintain level playing field as well as ethical and dignified behaviour during the campaigning before the elections.

Nath’s demeaning and objectifying remarks had stirred a furore in Madhya Pradesh’s politics and elicited a sharp response from the BJP, particularly Jyotiraditya Scindia, who was uncharacteristically strident in criticising the Congress leaders for his sexist jibe on Imarti Devi.

Kamal Nath calls Dalit leader Imarti Devi as ‘item’ in an election rally

In an election meeting on Sunday for the upcoming bypoll in Gwalior’s Dabra town, where BJP’s Imarti Devi is in the fray, Nath had said that the Congress candidate, Suresh Raje, was a “simple person” unlike his opponent who was an “item”. The Congress supporters present in the crowd were found hooting and cheering at the despicable remark from the close aide of Rahul Gandhi.

The BJP had then lodged a complaint with the Election Commission over the indecent comment made by Kamal Nath against Imarti Devi. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Kamal Nath should withdraw his remarks and issue an apology over the same. “Kamal Nath! Imarti Devi is the name of the daughter of a poor farmer who started working as a public servant in the village and today she is supporting the nation building. The Congress called me ‘hungry-naked’ and for a woman using a word like ‘item’ has again exposed your feudalist mentality,” he said.

Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan led BJP leaders in silent protest against Kamal Nath’s offensive statements against BJP candidate Imarti Devi. Chouhan urged Congress president Sonia Gandhi to condemn the act and remove state Congress chief Kamal Nath from all party posts for his remarks against Imarti Devi, the state’s women and child development minister and a Dalit woman.

West Bengal: 15-year-old boy beaten to death inside a police station, BJP alleges the boy beaten as parents were its supporters

0

The family of a 15-year-old boy has alleged that he was beaten to death inside a police station in Birbhum district in south Bengal on Thursday night. Condemning the incident, BJP has alleged that the boy had to bear the brunt because his parents were BJP supporters. The West Bengal police have, however, called it a suicide.

“A 15-year-old boy died inside the police station. He was arrested following all norms and brought to the police station on Thursday. At night he went to the toilet and killed himself. We have ordered a magisterial probe and a post-mortem by a three-member medical panel following guidelines laid down by the National Human Rights Commission,” said Shyam Singh, superintendent of police of Birbhum district.

The deceased’s family and the villagers have, however, alleged that the boy was picked up at least three days ago and was never produced in the court.

“He was arrested for stealing a neighbour’s mobile phone at least three days ago. When I went to the police station, they told me that my son would be released soon. But now he has been beaten to death. He was not produced in court nor sent to any home,” said the victim’s father.

Condemning the WB police atrocity, Dilip Ghosh, the president of West Bengal BJP unit said: “How can a minor kill himself in the police station when everything, such as a towel and even the sacred thread, is taken away in police lockup? He was treated like this because his family members were BJP supporters.”

Irate locals protest against West Bengal police

This incident has inflicted a lot of fury amognst the locals, who have clashed with police and blocked the National Highway by placing burnt tyres on road on Friday. The protesters also hurled bricks at the police personnel when they went to disperse the crowd. The police in turn resorted to lathi charge.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called a 12-hour-bandh in Mallarpur on Saturday to protest against the incident. BJP workers are likely to bring out rallies in Mallarpur and even gherao the police station, where the boy was found dead.

Meanwhile, the ruling Trinamool Congress has denied the allegations, saying that BJP is politicising the issue.

After The Hindu, Indian newspaper Hindustan Times publishes Chinese propaganda supplement amidst border standoff

0

While India is battling the Coronavirus pandemic and resisting Chinese aggression on its frontiers, Indian newspapers are shamelessly peddling Chinese propaganda to Indian readers. After the Hindu glorified Chinese narrative in a bid to change public opinion against the campaign to boycott ‘Made in China Products’, The Hindustan Times has now given editorial space to Chinese mouthpiece China Daily.

The national newspaper carried a four-page supplement by China Daily, starting from the 8th page. However, unlike The Hindu, it carried a disclaimer, “This supplement, prepared by China Daily, People’s Republic of China, did not involve the news or editorial departments of Hindustan Times.” In the first page of the supplement, China’s massive infrastructure project on its second-longest waterway was highlighted and how it was improving people’s lives and raising incomes. An article titled, “Market hub buzzes despite downturn” emphasised on how ‘dual circulation’, as proposed by Chinese government would boosted foreign trade.

In the second page of the supplement, the Chinese mouthpiece focused on the youth and how the young minds from China are actively working with the United Nations on a global stage to make an impact in underprivileged countries. Similarly, in the 3rd and 4th page, it lay emphasis on how China is preserving its culture across centuries while not compromising on its development.

Screengrab of the Hindustan Times report (Page 1)

While one may be wondering about the purpose of such articles in an Indian newspaper, the objective is to emphasise on China’s primordial focus on development and strategies to revitalise its economy. It also shows Chinese firm resolve to empower its youth and preserve its culture and heritage. The paid content is a subtle exercise of ‘soft power’ to change public perception from a villain to a role model.

The Hindu mints money by publishing Chinese advertorial

On the 1st of October, The Hindu ran a full-page advertorial paid for and planted by China. The paid content appeared on the 3rd page of the paper. Interestingly, the paid content by China that was published by The Hindu on Page 3 did not appear on the digital website of The Hindu.

The beauty of the paid content was that to an untrained eye, the full page article seemed like just that – a feature on how the world was wrong about mighty China and how, on the National Day of the People’s Republic of China, it was time to re-evaluate what “bhakt media” was saying about the country and look towards all its achievements. However, upon closer examination, it becomes clear that the full-page feature was content paid for by China.

In the video, it can be seen that a man with a black cloth wrapped around his head is being led by a man with a rope. The video has been captured from a distance and there are policemen clearly visible. Sneha Singhvi, the person who shared the video on Twitter, confirmed to us that the man with a black face cover is indeed Sameet Thakkar.

ANI quoted Sameet’s brother Rishi Thakkar, reacting to the video, saying that it is “human rights’ violation by police as my brother’s hands were tied & face was covered with black cloth when he was brought to court”. Rishi Thakkar also added that they are treating him the way hardcore terrorist is treated. He further told ANI, “My brother is paying the price of calling Maharashtra CM a modern-day Aurangzeb & his son, a baby penguin – the terms coined by NCP leaders who are currently in govt with them”.

Complaint filed with SHRC

After the video went viral on social media, it created a massive outrage among the netizens, who slammed the Mumbai police for treating Thakkar like an animal. In the meanwhile, BJP leader and lawyer Vivekanand Gupta has filed a complaint with the state Human Rights Commission against the human rights violation of Sameet Thakkar. He informed that he has requested the SHRC to suspend the investigating officer, saying it is abuse of law.

Highlights of Cases against Sameet Thakkar

The hearing in the matter was scheduled for November 3, 2020.

Congress leader and Bengaluru Riots main accused Sampath Raj flees from hospital, police issue notice to the hospital

0

One of the prime accused in the Bengaluru riots, Congress leader and former Mayor Sampath Raj is believed to be absconding. Raj was undergoing treatment for COVID-19 at a hospital in Bengaluru, but the hospital discharged him after his treatment was over without informing the police. He is untraceable now and it is believed that he must have gone into hiding, confirmed police.

Police learnt about the discharge of Raj when Assistant Commissioner of Police Venugopal visited the hospital on Thursday. “Yes, he is absconding. We are looking for him,” Venugopal told media confirming the development. According to police, a notice was issued to the hospital authorities by police on October 7 asking them to inform police before discharging Raj. However, the hospital discharged Sampath Raj without informing the police. Following the incident, another notice had been issued to the hospital authorities. The Hospital has been asked to reply why they discharged the accused without informing police after they were instructed to do so.

In the meanwhile, the police have launched a manhunt to nab the absconding Congress leader.

Charge sheet filed in Bengaluru riots case says Sampath Raj joined hands with Islamist organisation SDPI to create unrest in the city

Raj is believed to be one of the conspirators in instigating the Bengaluru riots in August this year. The charge-sheet filed by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) in connection with the Bengaluru riots case stated that the Congress leader Sampath Raj had joined hands with radical Islamic organisation such as SDPI to target his own party’s Dalit MLA Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy.

In the 850-page charge sheet, the CCB has named 52 people as accused. There are statements of more than 30 eyewitnesses. The investigating agency has named former Mayor Sampath Raj and Zakir Hussain of the Congress Party as accused number 51 and 52, respectively.

Furthermore, the charge-sheet filed by the Bengaluru CCB said that members of the Muslim community were already upset over the issues of the Citizenship Amendment Act, triple talaq, NRC and Ram Mandir and the Congress leaders used this resentment to fuel unrest in DJ Halli and KG Halli areas on August 11 and settle political rivalry against their own party MLA Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy.

As per the reports, the personal assistant of Sampath Raj, Arun Kumar, was arrested by CCB. The investigation agency found out that he made over ten calls to SDPI leader Muzammil Pasha and others. Pasha and several others are among the accused in the riots case. As per the CCB investigation, SDPI and Congress leaders were behind the riots. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has also filed two FIRs in the case under IPC, UAPA, and Karnataka Prevention of Destruction and Loss of Property Act and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property A

The background of Bengaluru riots

On 11th August 2020, at around 8:30 PM, a riot-like situation took place between the DJ Halli and KJ Halli police station limits in the east Bengaluru. As per the reports, more than 1000 people gathered outside the house of Congress MLA Akhanda Srinivas Murthy, demanding immediate action against his relative Naveen, who allegedly posted objectionable content against Prophet Muhammad on Facebook. The situation came under control on 12th August around 1 AM. Three people were killed, and more than 60 police personnel were injured. More than 300 vehicles were damaged in the riots.

On 17th August, CM BS Yediyurappa said the state government would recover the cost of damage to public and private property from the culprits.

Nikita Tomar’s murder brings under spotlight the recurring theme of unceasing atrocities committed by Muslims in Mewat: Read details

Recently, a terrifying incident of attempted love jihad and forced conversion of non-Muslim into Islam came to the fore with the blood-curdling murder of a 21-year-old student named Nikita Tomar in Mewat. She was shot dead in broad daylight by two men outside the Aggarwal college in Ballabgarh, Faridabad earlier this week.

One of the two assailants, Tauseef had been repeatedly harassing her and making advances at Nikita. She had filed a complaint of molestation and harassment against Tauseef last month and a compromise was reached later. An FIR was filed by Nikita just a day before her murder, against the accused Tauseef harassing her and trying to convert her to Islam.

The shocking incident was caught on camera, visuals of which had gone instantly viral in the aftermath of the brutal killing. Touseef and his accomplice Rehan were arrested by the police. It is also pertinent to note that the accused had earlier abducted the girl in 2018.

The prime accused of Tomar’s murder, Touseef, belonged to Mewat, a region infamous for rampant abductions, rapes and forcible religious conversions of Hindu and Dalit women into Islam by the radical Muslims inhabitants. The region is notoriously known as a graveyard for Hindus, including Dalits, as atrocities against non-Muslim women has become a recurring theme in the district.

The situation is so dire that the Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has promised a new anti-conversion law to be implemented in the state after VHP high-level delegation apprised him about the “anti-national and anti-Hindu activities” in Mewat.

The killing of Nikita Tomar for turning down the advances of Touseef is not a stray incident of attempted love jihad and forced conversions plaguing Mewat. A norm had emerged in the region where Hindu women, including Dalits, are increasingly targeted by Muslim men, who kidnap the girls and women and commit unspeakable atrocities on them. Besides this, Mewat is also known for being a hotbed of organised crime, cattle smuggling, among other things.

Ismail, Irshad and Sahir kidnap, drug and subsequently rape a 15-year-old Hindu girl in Mewat’s Nuh

In September 2020, a 15-year-old teenager was abducted, drugged and subsequently raped by 3 men—Ismail, Irshad and Sahir. The girl was gang-raped and tortured for over 28 hours in Pinangwa village of Nuh.

The accused were known to the girl. According to the victim, when she had gone out in the morning to relieve herself, one of them, Ismail, lured her into going with him in a millet field nearby where he raped her. About 2 hours later, another one, Sahir came who raped her. Later, Irshad came and forced himself on her.

The girl in her statement had said that she was drugged by the men before they raped her. After holding her captive for sometime, the perpetrators reportedly threatened to kill her if she ever uttered anything about the incident. After returning to her house the next morning, she narrated her ordeal to her parents following which they approached the police and filed a complaint against the perpetrators. However, the cops had initially snubbed the family, saying that the incident was ‘consensual’.

Married woman held captive and gang-raped for months in Mewat

Earlier in February 2020, a gang-rape incident with a married woman was reported in a village in Tawadu, Mewat. The woman was abducted in September 2019 and held captive until she broke out of her captivity in on January 15, 2020. She had accused five men of kidnapping and gang-raping her for months. The women alleged that while she was held captive, she was administered with drugs by her captors and gang-raped. She also alleged that her kidnappers shot pornographic videos and threatened her of releasing them on the internet.

Akil Khan and Rashid kidnap and coerce a girl into converting to Islam

While the naysayers would have us believe that love jihad is just an imaginary construct, its existence cannot be denied, especially in Haryana’s Mewat, where such incidents have been happening for years now. One such issue of love jihad had come to fore in 2019 when a girl was abducted by Muslim youths- Akil Khan and Rashid in the name of jihad. The girl was reportedly hexed before being forcibly converted. The incident stirred a state-wide outrage and communal tensions in the region flared as protesters took to the streets and blocked the Gurugram Alwar National Highway for 11 hours.

Aslam, along with two other men barge into minor victim’s house and gang-rape her

In another shocking incident from 2018, a minor girl was reported to have been raped in Haryana’s Mewat. According to media reports, the incident took place in Nuh’s Bhandka, in which the police arrested one Aslam for barging into the house of a 14-year-old girl and raping her. Aslam, along with two other men had entered the victim’s house and gang-raped her. The child’s father told that his daughter was sleeping in the home when Aslam and two other boys came and raped her. When the father of the girl came into the house, he saw Aslam raping her. Aslam was caught but the remaining two somehow escaped.

16-year-old girl commits suicide after being kidnapped and gang-raped by 8 boys

In the year 2018, a 16-year-old girl committed suicide in Nuh area of Mewat region. Investigations then revealed that before this suicide, 8 boys abducted and raped her a few days ago. After committing such disgusting misdeeds, he left her outside his house in a blood-soaked condition. The investigation also revealed that the accused belonged to an influential family in the village. Those who started pressuring the victim’s family to withdraw the case as soon as the rape complaint was filed.

Jafar Khan and Sahukar Khan arrested in the case of the rape of a goat

Women were not the only ones at the receiving end of the barbarity of Muslim men in Mewat. Even speechless animals were not spared the atrocities of some pervert individuals in the district. Some time ago a case of rape of a goat had surfaced. This horrific crime was carried out in the village of Marodha in Mewat in Haryana. An investigation was carried out by the police and one Jafar Khan and Sahukar Khan were arrested in the case while there were a total of 8 people who had allegedly raped the goat.

Illegal cow smuggling rampant in Haryana as police recovered 2572 cowhides from Jamalgarh

Of late, Haryana’s Mewat has emerged as flourishing grounds for the cattle smugglers. In June this year, the police seized a staggering 2,572 cowhides stashed in homes and warehouses from the Jamalgarh village of Mewat.

The police had received a tip-off that some inhabitants of the village indulged in cow slaughter for selling its meat and skin in Delhi and Hapur. The police were informed that if they raided the village, huge quantities of cowhides will be recovered. Following the tip-off, the police conducted a raid in the village after recovered large quantities of cowhides.

In July 2019, a young man named Gopal was killed for opposing the cow smugglers. Similarly, there have been several cases of violent attacks by cattle smugglers in Haryana and UP. Cattle smugglers have even been known to fire at police officials. Haryana’s Mewat region is considered the hotbed of cattle smuggling and illegal slaughter.

Atrocities against Hindus have earned Mewat the sobriquet of “mini-Pakistan”

According to the Hindu residents of Mewat, the atrocities against them is not a recent phenomenon. For a long time now, they have been the victim of brutalities committed by members of the majority Muslim community in the region.

This notion was also confirmed by former justice Pawan Kumar, who headed an investigation team to probe the atrocities inflicted on Hindus and Dalits in Haryana’s Mewat. In reference to the subjugation of Hindus, including Dalits, in Mewat, Kumar observed that the plight of remaining Hindus in Mewat may be worse than the minorities living in Pakistan. leading him to opine that Mewat had turned into a graveyard for Hindus and Dalits.

The rising number of atrocities against Hindus and Dalits was also highlighted in a 2013 report by the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti which said that the attitude of the Muslim majority of people has been continuing for a long time due to which many activists were forced to call it a “mini-Pakistan”.

The report stated that the way Hindus were stripped off their basic rights in Pakistan, similarly, Hindus, including Dalits, have been subordinated by the Muslim majority and atrocities are committed against them unabated.

The seven-year-old report of the committee also mentioned that the people of Tablighi Jamaat in Mewat motivated members of the local Muslim community to wage love jihad, jihad and forced conversion.
