Communal tension in Delhi’s Mangolpuri after Bajrang Dal activist stabbed to death after arguments over Ram Mandir donation drive

Tensions gripped Delhi’s Mangolpuri area after a mob of around 25-30 people brutally stabbed a Bajrang Dal activist named Rinku Sharma on February 10 (Wednesday). The 26-year-old deceased, who was stabbed in his house in front of his family members, was actively involved with the Hindu outfit and was a part of the donation drive being carried out by Bajrang Dal for contributing towards the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

According to a report by Hindi daily Jagran, police have arrested the four assailants, who entered Rinku’s house late on Wednesday night and killed him in cold blood. The arrested assailants have been identified as Mohammad Islam, Danish Nasruddin, Dilshan and Dilshad Islam, according to social media posts.

Rinku Sharma was a resident of Delhi’s Mangolpuri area. Besides rendering his voluntary service to the Hindu organisation, Rinku Sharma worked as a lab technician in a hospital in Paschim Vihar. The young activist was survived by his mother Radha Devi, father Ajay Sharma and brothers Ankit and Manu Sharma.

It is being reported that the incident was a fallout of an argument between the Bajrang Dal activist and the assailants over the construction and the money the Hindu outfit was collecting for the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. According to the relatives of the deceased, an awareness rally was organized in the area, last month, regarding the construction of Ayodhya’s Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple. During this rally, the assailants had got into a dispute with Rinku Sharma, who had been collecting funds for the construction of Ram Mandir. Later, the dispute was resolved after some people of the area intervened.

On the day of the incident, Rinku Sharma once again ran across the assailants in a birthday party, where they reportedly got into a tussle again.

The victim’s father told Sudarshan TV that on Wednesday night, around 25-30 persons knocked on the door. After they were let in, they attacked his son Rinku Sharma, and his younger son Ankit was also attacked. He said that the attackers kicked them around, stabbed Rinku, and vandalised the house.

He also said that the attackers were armed with knives and lathis. Rinku’s brother also recounted how the assailants mercilessly attacked his elder brother Rinku with sharp knives. They then fled, leaving Rinku seriously injured. Rinku was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Mangolpuri, where he succumbed to his injuries at 12 noon on Thursday.

A video of the incident has also emerged, which shows the mob attacking the family and then killing Rinku Sharma. They also tried to snatch an LPG cylinder, perhaps to use it as a weapon.

CCTV footage from outside the house also shows several people entering the house, armed with knives and lathis.

CAA to be implemented after Covid-19 vaccination gets completed: Union Home Minister Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah today said that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) would be implemented by the central government after the completion of the Covid-19 vaccination drive. While addressing a rally at Matua in the poll-bound state of West Bengal, Shah reportedly said that the opposition was misleading the minorities on the CAA. He assured that the CAA would not impact the citizenship status of Indian minorities.

Refugees will get citizenship: Shah

According to reports, Shah said that the implementation of the CAA was suspended due to coronavirus pandemic. “Mamata didi said we made a false promise. She started opposing the CAA and saying she will never allow it. The BJP always fulfils the promises it makes. We have brought this law and refugees will get citizenship”, the Union Home Minister was quoted as saying. He said that Mamata Banerjee would not be in a position to oppose the enforcement of the CAA as she will no longer be the Chief Minister after the assembly elections in the state.

BJP’s Poriborton Yatra will end corruption of Bua-Bhatija: Shah

The Union Home Minister launched the fourth phase of the ‘Poriborton Yatra’ from Rash Mela ground in Cooch Behar. Taking a dig at the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her nephew Abhishek, Sha said that BJP’s ‘Poriborton Yatra’ in the state was aimed at ending corruption by ‘Bua-Bhatija’. He added that the Yatra was intended to rid the state of infiltration, unemployment, bomb blasts and to bring a change in the state of farmers. “The Poriborton Yatra is a journey towards building Sonar Bangla”, Shah was quoted as saying. “TMC goons cannot stall BJP’s march to power in West Bengal”, he added.

Why aren’t we talking about this? Netizens outraged as model promoting Rihanna’s Fenty Lingerie insults Hindu temple

0

Rihanna has been involved in a storm in India ever since she extended support to protesting ‘farmers’, spearheaded by Khalistanis, who indulged in rampant violence on the 26th of January, leaving over 400 policemen injured. It was revealed that the tweet by Rihanna was pre-planned when baby-protestor Greta Thunberg tweeted a ‘toolkit’ that detailed the nefarious plan to foment trouble in India. Now, Rihanna has been caught in another row, involving her beauty and lingerie company Fenty and a promotional photoshoot insulting a Hindu temple.

On the 3rd of February, Jhardan Reign, a model from the United States of America tweeted a set of photos on Instagram. The photos appeared to be a promotional shoot for Fenty, the company owned by Rihanna.

Promotional images on Instagram

The photos were uploaded with the hashtags #savagexfenty, #savagexgirl and the model tagged @savagexfenty, the official handle of Rihanna’s beauty company.

This picture would have essentially not inspired a reaction from anyone in India, except that a temple can distinctly be seen in the background. From. the photos, it appears as though the photographs were taken in the premises of a Hindu temple, or at least, in the vicinity where the temple was deliberately shown in the picture.

After substantial outrage on Instagram, the post by the model was deleted. However, the same images are still available on her Twitter handle.

In her Instagram post, Reign had also mentioned that the photographer is one ‘Cristellin‘. When we looked her up on Twitter, sure enough, she had retweeted the post by Reign that plugged the pictures.

Images retweeted by the photographer

The photograph that seems to be taken in the premises of a Hindu Temple or at least, The Hindu Temple was shown in the photo with a semi-clad ‘cupid’, invited the ire of several Hindu netizens.

One handle said that earlier, Rihanna had appropriated the Muslim Hadith and this time, she has insulted a Hindu Temple. She claimed that minorities expected better from her.

Another user asked “why are we not talking about this”, interestingly, the same phrase Rihanna used while extending her support to the attempted insurrection in India.

It is pertinent to note that these images were not shared by Rihanna, or her company Fenty on the beauty page of Instagram or from the Lingerie page. If it was, it has been deleted by now and we could not find one.

The model who posted these pictures tagged ‘Savage X Fenty’, which is the Instagram page of Rihanna Fenty lingerie line.

It is entirely possible that the photoshoot was not exactly sanctioned by Rihanna. Often, companies send products for promotion to influencers on social media and they are supposed to use those products, promote it on Instagram and while doing so, tag the company concerned. For this, they are paid by the brand in some cases where contracts exist.

It is therefore possible that the photoshoot itself was not sanctioned by Rihanna, however, given the bottled up anger against her and the insult of The Hindu temples, questions are now being asked from Rihanna. One could reason that since it is indeed a Fenty promotion, the content of that promotion and its responsibility thereof should also lie on the shoulders of Rihanna.

Rihanna had apologised to Muslims for insulting their faith in 2020

In 2020, Rihanna had apologised to Muslim community for using Islamic verses during a lingerie fashion show. She had released a new lingerie collection Savage X Fenty. The show came under heavy criticism for using sacred Islamic verses commonly known as Hadiths. Coucou Chloe produced the track named “Doom” that used the text.

The show was streamed on Amazon Prime. It used a song produced by Coucou Chloe in 2017 that used a remix of a Hadith narration about the end of times and judgment day. It is believed that the Hadith is a written record of the sayings and actions of the Prophet Mohammad and his close associated. These texts are considered to be highly sacred to Muslims and often regarded as secondary only to the Quran in terms of authority.

After rampant backlash from the Muslim community, Rihanna had apologised for her action.

After the backlash, a spokesperson for Coucou Chloe too issued an online apology on twitter. She took full responsibility for the fact that she did not research the meaning of the text. She apologized for using the sacred text in the song ‘DOOM.’ “The song was created using samples from Baile Funk tracks I found online. At the time, I was not aware that these samples used text from an Islamic Hadith,” She added.

Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress leaders threaten to stop shooting of Kangana Ranaut’s movie Dhaakad

0

In a veiled threat, the youth Congress workers in Madhya Pradesh’s Betul district have warned Kangana Ranaut to either apologise to the farmers for her Tweets questioning the authenticity of the ongoing farmer protests or they would stall the ongoing shooting of her movie ‘Dhaakad’. Kangana Ranaut has been shooting her new film in Sarni area of Betul district.

Alleging that the ‘Queen’ actor had maligned farmers in her Tweet, the State Congress Sewa Dal secretary Manoj Arya and Chicholi Block Congress Committee president Nekram Yadav, submitted a memorandum to a tehsildar in Betul on Wednesday, which read that if Kangana Ranaut did not apologise by Friday evening for her comments against the ongoing farmers’ protest, she would not be allowed to shoot at Sarni.

Reacting sharply to Congress’ threat, BJP leader and state home minister Narottam Mishra said that the state Congress chief Kamal Nath should dissuade his party workers from disrupting the shoot. He assured his full support to Kangana Ranaut.

Youth Congress Punjab unit uses misogynistic hashtag to target Kangana Ranaut

Earlier also, Punjab Youth Congress had targeted the actor for her Tweet on the farmer’s protest, and in an extremely misogynistic Tweet, warned the actress not to “play with fire inside the farmer’s heart”. Taking a dig at Ranaut, the Punjab Youth Congress said that “attention seekers and puppets” in the hands of the BJP would never understand the culture, diversity and history of Punjab. They used a highly offensive and vulgar hashtag (#कंगना_को_दिलजीत_पेल_रहा_है) to target Kangana Ranaut.

The language of the hashtag was very distasteful which is often used as a slang to sexualise women. Such a language being used by the official handle of a national party seemed very unfortunate.

Ranaut served notices for her tweets on farmer protests

Ranaut was served a legal notice by an advocate in relation to her tweets regarding Bilkis Bano. However, Ranaut had deleted her tweet later. Today, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee sent a legal notice to Ranaut over her tweets that allegedly targeted farmers, activists protesting against the new farm laws.

Twitter had recently deleted some of Ranaut’s tweets over the farmers’ protest.

Saudi Arabia’s recently released women’s rights activist Loujain al-Hathloul was allegedly raped, sexually harassed in prison

0

Saudi Arabian women’s rights activist Loujain al-Hathloul, who was released from prison after three years, has narrated her horrifying ordeal of custodial torture. Hathloul has reportedly alleged that she was raped in prison for three years and was subjected to sexual abuse by multiple people. She was released on Wednesday after 1001 days in prison amid persistent international pressure for her release.

Hathloul’s elder sister broke the news of her release on Twitter saying, “The best day of life, Loujain is at my parent’s home”.

The news of her release was later confirmed by the US President Joe Biden who termed it a ‘welcome news’. “She was a powerful advocate for women’s rights and releasing her was the right thing to do”, President Biden said.

Lina, another sister of Hathloul also posted a tweet, “Loujain is at home”.

According to reports, Hathloul was imprisoned to almost six years in prison in December last year. She was arrested in May 2018 along with several other women activists. She was released after 2 years and 10 months of her arrest and her sentences was applied retrospectively since May 2018. Hathloul demanded women’s right to drive and also the abolition of Saudi Arabia’s restrictive male guardianship system that limits women’s right to movement. Even after her release Hathloul, however, will be under probation and is banned from travelling.

Hathloul was allegedly raped and shown pornographic films

It has been alleged by the family of Hathloul that she was given electric shocks and sexually harassed in prison. A letter written by human rights lawyer Baroness Kennedy reportedly stated that Hathloul was raped many times in Saudi Arabia’s prison. Before that, she was also allegedly raped several times during interrogation. Kennedy further alleged that she was shown pornographic films during interrogation and that she was hung from a ceiling, severely beaten and given electric shock multiple times during her imprisonment.

Arnab Goswami Vs Navika Kumar: Delhi court takes cognizance of Republic TV’s defamation suit, sets date

0

The Patiala House court in Delhi Thursday took cognizance of the complaint filed by Republic TV against Times Now anchor Navika Kumar for allegedly making defamatory remarks against the channel and its Editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami in connection with the alleged WhatsApp chats mentioned in the charge sheet filed by the Mumbai Police in the ‘fake TRP’ scam case.

Taking cognizance of the defamation suit, Chander Jit Singh, the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate has slated the hearing for the case to June 8. Advocate Vijay Aggarwal, one of the top criminal lawyers in the country, had appeared for ARG Outlier Media.

On January 28, the ARG Outlier Media Pvt. Ltd, the parent company of news channel Republic TV had filed a defamation suit against Times Now anchor Navika Kumar for making defamatory statements against Republic TV and Arnab Goswami in connection with the Whatsapp chats related to ‘Fake TRP’ scam.

The petition stated that Republic had taken exception to Kumar’s statements on January 18, 2021, on her show – Newshour. Navika had allegedly made false claims relating to Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami’s Whatsapp chats, which Republic TV said were distorted and misconstrued.

The complaint stated that in an attempt to colour the public’s minds, Navika Kumar spewed reckless and grossly defamatory material and telecast the same on TV and published them on the internet. It also read that Kumar accused the complainant of “building its success” on “TRP manipulation”.

The petition has alleged that Times Now anchor Navika Kumar made “rabid and unfounded claims” accusing Republic TV chief Arnab Goswami of “endangering national security” and “leaking state secrets”.

Republic TV’s parent company ARG Outlier Media Pvt. Ltd had requested the court to take cognizance of the complaint and give punishment to the accused in accordance with the law for the commission of an offence under Sections 499 (defamation) and 500 (Punishment for defamation) of the Indian Penal Code.

‘Hum do hamare do’: Rahul Gandhi continues his Adani-Ambani rant, refuses to talk on budget during the budget discussion in Lok Sabha

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who was supposed to open the discussion on the budget in Lok Sabha yesterday, finally spoke today evening. However, the former Congress president refused to speak on the budget, saying he will only speak on the farmer protests.

Rahul Gandhi started his speech in the lower house today with the farmers’ issue. When treasury bench MPs opposed the same, saying that the discussion was on the union budget, the Kerala MP bluntly refused to divert the focus of his speech, saying

‘farmer issue is also a budget, please respect them’.

He then proceeded to attack the three farm laws, continuing with the same lies that the farmer unions and opposition parties are using against the reforms. He said that the first law allows anyone to buy as much farm product as they want. Rahul Gandhi posed a bizarre question, asking ‘if there is unlimited purchase of farm products in the country, who will go to mandis?’. He then concluded that the intent of the farm law is to abolish mandis.

He then accused that the second farm law corporates to hoard farm products as much as they want, without any limit. He said that the second law scraps the essential commodities act, which will encourage unlimited hoarding. He alleged that the third law prevents the farmer from going to court if they are not paid the right price by the corporate buyers.

Such lies on the farm laws in the Parliament cause a furore in the house, especially when he was participating in the budget discussion. But ignoring the protests, and the speaker’s intervention asking him to talk on the budget, Rahul Gandhi proceeded to accuse the Modi government of working for Adani and Ambani. Although he didn’t name them, using the phrase ‘hum do hamarao do’ instead, saying he does not need to name them as everybody knows it. He alleged that laws will only benefit these two persons, and will harm the small farmers, small traders etc.

Rahul Gandhi’s continued rant on the farm laws evoked strong protests from BJP MPs, who asked him to talk on the budget, reminding that he was speaking in parliament, not in a Congress party meeting. They said that the discussion on motion of thanks for the President’s address is already over where these things were already discussed, the motion was already passed by the house, and now only the finance bills should be discussed and the discussion should be restricted to the budget.

Congress leader of the house Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury defended his leader, saying that the rules allow speaking on a general subject. However, this was strongly opposed by rulings, and this created a ruckus in the house for some time.

In the meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi continued his rant on ‘hum do hamare do’, and repeating his false allegations against the farm laws. Only two persons will be benefited, everyone else will be harmed, he kept saying.

When the Kerala MP kept attacking the farm laws amid the noise, speaker Om Prakash Birla finally intervened, and reminded him that the discussion in on the budget. To this Rahul Gandhi said that he is coming to the topic in 5 minutes, and he preparing the foundation for the same.

However, that also turned out to be a lie, as after few minutes, he said that he is not going to talk on the budget. He said that he had requested to speak only on the farmer issue separately, and as the government had not allowed it, he is not going to speak on the budget in protest.

Speaking after Rahul Gandhi, BJP MP and Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur said that he can understand that Rahul Gandhi was not prepared to speak on the budget. He said that he was not present during the budget presentation, he keeps going out of the country, therefore he was not prepared for the budget discussion.

Guess who is behind the propaganda of ‘forensic report’ giving a clean chit to Urban Naxal Rona Wilson: George Soros and Canada govt

On February 10, left-leaning American newspaper Washington Post published a report alleging that the Bhima Koregaon case accused were falsely implicated in the case by planting fake evidence on their computers. Following up on an earlier report by Caravan making the same claims, the Washington Post report quoted an alleged forensic study of the ‘electronic copy’ of a laptop belonging to one accused Rona Wilson by an American company to claim that incriminating letters were planted in the laptop by a hacker.

Quoting a report from Arsenal Consulting, a Massachusetts-based digital forensics firm, the report claims that Wilson’s laptop was hacked using malicious emails. Arsenal claims to have recovered PDF files in a hidden folder in the laptop, which contained the letters that became part of the charge sheet against Wilson. According to police, the email letters show that Wilson was in contact with a top Maoist leader named Comrade Prakash, and he had sought guns and ammunition from the banned left-wing terror group and had also urged them to assassinate PM Modi. However, now the alleged forensic study by Arsenal Consulting claims that Rona didn’t write these letters, and these were planted by hackers during a course of 22 months between 2016 and 2018.

There were several anomalies in the ‘forensic report’ that we had reported on earlier. For example, the flimsy claims about different versions of Microsoft Word being used in different documents and using that as an excuse to claim that some PDF documents were ‘planted’, The report by Arsenal Consulting mentions several PDF, RTF (rich text), ORG (Lotus organiser) files, none of them related to emails, which the Maharashtra police had recovered from the laptop, that they claimed that they had based their investigation on an “electronic copy” of the laptop, which as we explained is a bizarre claim in itself and how certain forensic experts have already raised doubts on the authenticity of the data.

However, it is not just the elements that don’t add up in the forensic report itself. There are organisations that seem to be involved in the propagation of this ‘forensic report’ that point towards the disturbing face that this report was made and distributed at the behest of certain foreign powers that have in the recent times, been seen fomenting trouble in India.

At the very onset, it is important to mention that Arsenal Consulting, which is based in the USA, was hired by the defence lawyers of Rona Wilson, the Urban Naxal. This was mentioned specifically by Arsenal Consulting in a report submitted to Mumbai special court.

Excerpt from report submitted in Mumbai Court

Now, this report by a company that is on Rona Wilson’s retainer was shared by several Indian media houses. Other than Indian left-leaning media houses, one particular thread on this report gives us a peak into just how coordinated this campaign could have been.

A senior researcher at “Citizen Lab”, John Scott-Railton, also plugged the report in great detail.

Citizens Lab is an interesting organisation to look into, to understand the nexus that could be working together to peddle a dubious narrative to save the Urban Naxals, arrested in 2018 under extremely serious charges like waging a war against the nation.

According to the website of Citizens Lab, “The Citizen Lab is an interdisciplinary laboratory based at the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, University of Toronto, focusing on research, development, and high-level strategic policy and legal engagement at the intersection of information and communication technologies, human rights, and global security”.

First and foremost, it is important here to remember that the University of Toronto itself is a government funded entity. While Universities in Canada regularly go through a cash crunch and have repeatedly looked for non-governmental funding, a large chunk of the funding that is received by University of Toronto is from the Canadian government.

Now, the Citizens Lab, which is feverishly spreading this propaganda against India and is extending support to Urban Naxals like Rona Wilson, is a research lab based in Munk School, which, is based in the University of Toronto. Since Citizens Lab is based in the University of Toronto, it can under no circumstances distance itself from the government of Canada itself and it is no secret how the government of Canada has been fomenting trouble in India and backing Khalistani terrorists that undermine the sovereignty of India.

Apart from the Canadian government, a look at Citizens Lab’s non-government funding also gives a window into the deeply sinister nexus.

A short list is provided on the homepage of Citizens Lab.

Guess who is behind the propaganda of 'forensic report' giving clean-chit to Urban Naxals? George Soros and Canada govt-linked organisations
Who funds Citizen Lab

While we are sure that there is far more to dig into, the four organisations that immediately catches one’s eye is:

  1. International Development Research Centre (IDRC)
  2. Open Society Foundations
  3. HIVOS

International Development Research Centre (IRDC)

IRDC is a part of Canada’s foreign affairs and development efforts, and they, according to their website, “fund and support high-quality research in developing countries, share knowledge with researchers and policymakers to inform local and global action, and mobilize alliances to drive global positive change”.

According to their website, IDRC is governed by a board of up to 14 governors, whose chairperson reports to Parliament through the Minister of International Development.

Therefore, it is safe to conclude that the government of Canada is heavily invested in IRDC and in turn, in Citizens Lab.

Interestingly, IRDC has invested over CA$ 152.6 million since 1974.

IDRC on its website also mentions their extensive work in the state of Punjab.

Guess who is behind the propaganda of 'forensic report' giving clean-chit to Urban Naxals? George Soros and Canada govt-linked organisations
Excerpt from IRDC website

It is pertinent to note at this point that Canada has been supporting Khalistani terrorists who are armed, separatists terrorists from the state of Punjab. A Canadian MP Jagmeet Singh has been involved intricately in fanning the violence during the on-going ‘farmers’ protest and rally global support for the insurrection during the 26th January ‘tractor rally’.

Open Society Foundation

At OpIndia, we have extensively documented the work of NGOs that have received donations from Soros’s Open Society Foundation (OSF). These organizations are extensively involved in shaping the mainstream narrative and they often engage in ‘judicial activism’ that seeks to use the Courts in order to undermine Indian national interests. Prominent among them are the Human Rights Law Network (HRLN) and the French NGO Sherpa

Some of the efforts HRLN has been involved in include the campaign against ISKCON’s Akshaya Patra, a campaign against Indian sedition laws, and it has been providing free legal aid to Rohingya Muslims in India. It has also been engaging in activism for the implementation of the RTE Act that works against Hindu-run institutions. Furthermore, it is also linked to a plethora of organizations across the country that seeks to undermine India’s territorial integrity.

Members of the Right to Food Campaign (RFC), an organization HRLN is linked to, were also involved in the protest against then CJI Ranjan Gogoi that sought to undermine the legitimacy of the Indian Judiciary.

The French NGO Sherpa that filed a complaint against the Rafale Deal in France is also partners with George Soros’s Open Society. The complaint was also used by malcontents in India to pursue their agenda against Narendra Modi during the run-up to the General Elections last year.

George Soros, through his network of NGOs, has connections with a cultivated class of intellectuals who work resolutely towards opposing the Modi government. There are some prominent names with extensive links to George Soros but it is extremely unlikely that these connections will surprise anyone. Some of the most prominent among them are Harsh Mander, Indira Jaising and Amartya Sen.

At Davos, George Soros, in his speech at the World Economic Forum (WEF), Soros committed $1 billion towards fighting nationalism and nationalists. George Soros claimed that the “biggest and most frightening setback” was in India and accused Narendra Modi of “creating a Hindu nationalist state.”

Recently, even the links of George Soros to the Greta Thunberg ‘toolkit’ had emerged, where the entire plan to foment trouble in India was documented. The document also rallied global support for the planned insurrection by Khalistanis in the national capital.

George Soros and Washington Post, the media outlet that carried the Rona Wilson report

George Soros has a tremendous influence on American media. The Media Research Center (MRC), an American media watchdog founded in 1987 to check the liberal bias in the media, discovered that over 30 major news organizations had links to George Soros. These organizations include the Washington Post, The New York Times, CNN, the Associated Press, NBC and ABC. He has also financially supported the National Public Radio (NPR). In addition to all of this, George Soros has links to the Huffington Post too.

It is pertinent to note that it was the Washington Post that picked up the dubious forensic analysis to exonerate Rona Wilson.

HIVOS

In November 2019, there was much ado after a report by Huffington Post that raised doubts on the credibility of Electoral Bonds in India. The Huffington Post had made claims that 95% of the electoral bonds go to ruling party BJP and had thus, alluded to a scam. The report was summarily debunked not just by OpIndia but also government officials.

The Huffington Post got this figure from the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR). Now, what is this entity? Who runs it? What authority does it have? As it so happens, ADR is an FCRA NGO that receives foreign funds from some of the most dubious globalist organizations to have ever existed.

As per the government website Darpan, ADR receives a huge amount of funds from the Ford Foundation, Google, HIVOS and the Omidyar network for the explicit purpose of electoral and political reform and ‘election watch’. Now, what is the HIVOS? This organization is intricately linked to George Soros’ Open Society Foundation and receives funds from various international governments.

HIVOS’ 2018 annual report says, “The key sources of grant income from governments included the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Global Fund, Swedish International Development Aid, the Millennium Challenge Account, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, the US Department of State, the Delegation of the European Union in Indonesia, and the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Costa Rica.” Its annual report further says that the key sources of income from non-profit organizations included the Ford Foundation.

It is pertinent to note that these very organisations were linked to the lies spread in India about the purchase of Rafale jets by the Modi government. These lies were also summarily debunked, not just by OpIndia or the government, but even by the Supreme Court of India.

Here, it is pertinent to note that HIVOS is intricately linked to the Ford Foundation as well. Ford Foundation is an equally dubious organisation that has employed funds time and again to destabilise democracies through their NGOs. Ford Foundation is also a donor to Citizen’s lab.

It is thus evident that the same nexus of organisations that include Ford Foundation, George Soros, HIVO, the Canadian Government and several others are behind many controversies that erupt in India, some ending in violence and claiming the lives of Indian citizens and others, attempting to tarnish not just the reputation of the government of India but also that of India itself.

Recently, in the farmers’ protest, India saw the active involvement of George Soros, the Canadian government that supports Khalistanis, including an MP from Canada Jagmeet Singh, elements from the USA like Meena Harris and others, and several NGOs and organisations that gets funds from the foreign entities mentioned above.

After supporting an insurrection in India and Khalistanis who have been creating chaos and anarchy in India, the same organisation now seem to have come together to extend support to Urban Naxals who are accused of waging a war against India and plotting to assassinate Prime Minister Modi.

‘I am not a cat’: Lawyer says after cat filter comes on during Zoom hearing. Here is what happened

Since the coronavirus outbreak, the lives of people have changed irreversibly. Everything has become online now, and technology has allowed people to do things that could not have been possible earlier.

However, as they say, everything has a downside, the adaption of technology has not been an easy task for people, and many have become a figure of fun when things at their end went terribly wrong.

In a similar incident, a virtual courtroom hearing in southwest Texas has now become an internet sensation after an attorney inadvertently appeared on screen as a computer-filter-generated cat. The viral video ‘Cat lawyer’ that is doing rounds on the internet has left netizens in splits.

The faux pas occurred at a local Texas court in Texas, United States when Presidio County Attorney Rod Ponton arrived in Zoom court in the form of a cute little kitten.

For about 40 seconds, the lawyer struggled to remove the filter. The judge, who was rather co-operative was seen helping Rod Ponton while other lawyers smiled looking at the Ponton’s struggle.

The 394th Judicial District Court Judge Roy Ferguson spoke to Ponton and informed him that a cat filter was on. Ponton said he was ready to proceed even in the ‘cat’ form.

“I’m prepared to go forward with it. I’m here live, I’m not a cat,” Ponton said. To which the Judge responded saying, “I can see that”.

The kitten catastrophe of lawyer Roy Ponton has now taken over the internet and has become the fodder for a meme fest.

Speaking to BBC’s Radio 4, the lawyer later told, “I did not know that Zoom could turn me into a cat and I did not know that a cat Zoom could make me an internet celebrity but it all happened in a matter of few hours. It turns out it provided a good laugh for the country.”

Earlier in India, former AAP leader Alka Lamba had once live-streamed her Facebook interaction with the cat filters on, creating a laugh riot on social media. Before that, Pakistani minister Shoukat Yousafzai had live-streamed a press conference with cat filters on, turning himself into a white and black kitten.

‘What does Sweden’s V-dem have to do with us?’: RS Chairman Venkaiah Naidu schools AAP MP for quoting report from Sweden against India

0

Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday schooled AAP MP Sushil Kumar Gupta for quoting a report from a Sweden-based institution against India, during the question hour in the Upper House today.

“Sweden ka V-Den…yeh kya hain…humko kya sambandh hain?” (What is this question? What report it is? What is the concern of Sweden’s Widen institute here?, said a visibly angry Naidu when the AAP leader attempted to cite the ‘democracy report‘ by Sweden’s V-Dem Institute to attack the central government.

‘Quoting some report from somewhere’, the visibly irked Venkaiah Naidu shuts up the AAP MP

Angered by the fact that the AAP leader resorted to a random foreign report to discuss India’s internal issues, Naidu scoffed at Gupta: “Quoting some report from somewhere, these are all political….”.

Not letting the AAP leader speak a word further, the RS Chairman lambasted, “Woh apne aur dekhe… the countries which are commenting at the internal affairs of India, they should look inwards”, said Naidu schooling the Aam Aadmi Party leader.

The AAP leader, who was on Tuesday, marshalled out of Rajya Sabha along with two other colleagues for misbehaving during the Zero Hour, was attempting to pose a question at Union Information and Technology minister Ravi Shankar Prasad when the latter was lashing out at social media platforms encouraging anti-India propaganda.

‘Double standards won’t be allowed’: IT Minister RS Prasad

IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, in plain and simple terms, cleared in the Rajya Sabha today that the double standard of the social media platforms will not be allowed in India. “Be it Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn or Whatsapp, action will be taken if these platforms are misused,” the union minister said while replying to a host of answers during the Question Hour in the Rajya Sabha.

Prasad furthered that if these companies want to work and tap the Indian market, they are welcome to do so, but they would have to comply with the Indian laws and the Constitution.

Irate by Twitter’s brazenness in complying with the Indian government’s orders to take action against those Twitter handles which have been spreading anti-India propaganda, Prasad said: “What is the issue that when there is violence in US Capitol Hill, social media platforms stand by police investigation but when Red Fort is breached, the same platforms go against the Indian government? Red Fort is the symbol of our pride. We won’t allow this double standard.”

Angered by the interference from international celebrities and governments on the ongoing farmers’ protests, the central government had, earlier in the week issued a new notice to Twitter directing it to block 1,178 accounts found to be from Pakistan peddling Khalistani secessionism. This was an addition to the government’s earlier notice asking them to ban 257 anti-India social media accounts for making hate speech.

However, Twitter showed its reluctance to comply with the central government’s notice under Section 69A of the IT Act.
